Yume 2kki only has 2 kinds of worlds: -The most breath taking, intricately detailed, painter-like landscapes your eyes are blessed with. Pure bliss. -Absolute dog vomit drawn by a blind-folded monkey wearing a clown suit juggling a mouse in MSPaint. A nightmare in digital form. There is no in-between.
i love worlds with beautiful pixel art and such, but i also love *some* of the odd ones too. i feel lucky that i enjoy very strange "experimental" worlds, as 2kki has a lot of that to offer
@@purekosu They're alright and charming. Just wish they calmed down a little on the seizure inducing colors and tinnitus sfx in some places. I feel like the "My EYES!!!" Spongebob fish with the worlds sometimes. lol
@@CheezyWEAPON thats how i felt in concrete world B. the music combined with the textures of the grey background were giving me a genuine eye sore sort of pain when looking at it.
That last area felt like one of the Yume 2kki devs had a panic attack and wanted eveyone to feel their pain. Also a lot of LSD Emulator-ass areas this go around.
It's fun watching these with knowledge of the events system in RPG Maker 2003 and pointing at the screen like "Hey, I know how they did that! That's really cool!" Making an NPC that moves diagonally for no reason is very very funny for that too- diagonal movement is only achievable through events and is usually reserved for interactable objects like ramps and stairs, so someone went through the trouble of making a character that moves like that randomly that doesn't even react to the player. It's just a funny floating face with a slightly more complex movement for the sake of... being a funnier floating face! What a fantastic showcase of people's creativity this game is! I'm glad such a huge project exists and is still receiving new areas from others.
to go the extra mile for something like making an NPC such as that one walk diagonally is so amazing haha, I didn't know it took that much effort to make it move like that! beginning to learn RPG Maker 2000 myself and i definitely appreciate not only the artistic but the technical side of the game a lot more now, what these people can do is insane.
Bacteria World is nice. I really like its aesthetic, it feels like a world that would've been created in the earlier days of the internet where people were new to pixel art and made simple colorful sprite artwork for their rpgmaker games. I was surprised to find out that it was only added almost two years ago. The only thing i wish is that the main world track was slightly longer.
fun fact about deep red wilds: the decor is meant to resemble parts of breathalyzers, hence why the aztec drawing features a figure holding a pair of lungs
ynoproject.net/2kki/ here for online, setting up the regular client is kind of a process. you need to set your system locale to japanese and other stuff. you wont be missing out on anything by playing the online version tho

The Hell world seems to be a virtual manifestation of what it feels like to have an autistic meltdown.
The music in bacteria world honestly Slaps. All of it.
