    Hi, does private health insurance cover overseas travel?

    • @MoneywithDan
      @MoneywithDan  2 года назад

      it is unlikely it will but ring your fund to check. You may need an extra policy at an extra cost

    i didnt get that excess part. you dont have to pay monthly premium if u opt for excessplan? and if yes will excess plan cover all the expenses with minimum downpayment of excess? say a surgery costs 10000 and excess plan is 750 will it cover the surgery?

      It depends on the policy, how long you had the policy and type of procedure but often it would cover the hospital stay, but you would need to ring the insurer first to check.
      However doctor fees are seperate and often not covered by insurance and those fees make up the big out of pocket fees so make sure you get a quote for out of pocket expenses first before.
      If you’re not concerned about which doctor you use or don’t care about wait times then our public hospital system is a great alternative for many.
