I am Welsh and so confused why they ripped into Marmalade so much. Welsh humour is extremely blunt, slap in the face call you an ugly pig then kiss you type of blunt. Everyone knows Scottish humour tropes, I feel it’s slightly ignorant for them to not learn the cultural beats of Wales. Nessa from Gavin & Stacey is a perfect example of this. We are very blunt in Wales, culturally we will insult each other and it’s seen as friendship (Aka you can go CHRIST YOU LOOK FUCKIN AWFUL) to your friend and give them a big hug as a greeting 😂I think it’s just clash of cultural.
