Stem to stern keel line of sails stem to stern. Stem is between the mast and forestay and is the deepest point or greatest lateral resistance ahead of the mast.
Ballast the middle of the boats and keel the sails. You may have to separate the ballast from the lateral resistance area. For example you don't want to ballast the stem you want lateral resistance from the stem and displacement from the stem.
