This video captures a lot of the great things about racing 125s. EVERYTHING matters all the time from start to finish. It's most noticeable on the small bores. Great sport. Great times.

When I was a kid, I raced on a YZ 125 - Two Stroke, but If I was racing now, I would go with the 4 Stroke bikes! Man these kids sure have sweet tracks to race on, could have used some larger jumps though!
That dude on the Kawi 4t at 4:10 thought he wanted some of what the 2t's were dishing out..........but naw, he got too much dirt and smoke in his face.
I miss the sound of rung out 2 strokes.definitely adds to the rush.only thing better than a 125 in the sand is a 250(2 stroke of course).Still awesome video

I have owned a lot of 2 strokes and very seldom did I ever replace the top end. Kept the bikes for 2,3 years or so, rode them hard, never had any problems. The manufacturer tells you to replace the top end frequently to sell you parts. If wasn't broke, why fix it?
In all my years of riding, I have had great sucess with 2 strokes, always did the routine maintenance,etc. I rode my bikes hard but never abused them. Always rode Hondas and then Yamahas.
Also I have always let the motor warm up until it felt really warm to the touch. I have never started a liquid cooled bike and then went and ran it hard.
