- Whenever I say "Wow Tools" it now means "wow.export", because Tools has been retired.
IMPORTANT: in 6:33 it says 'click numpad zero to zoom in on selected'. This is a mistake. The key to zoom in on selected is numpad period. Thanks for the QA, h3nri0n!

Hey Belvane. Thanks for the great video on the Exporter. I do have one question though, I can't figure out for the life of me how to remove the black borders around lights in regards to fixing the alpha maps. (As you mention at 4:17 in the video.) currently using Blender 2.82, tried all the transparency tricks and none of them worked. But somehow, somewhere I managed to fix one of the models, yet I'm none the wiser as to how I did it.

Where did you get the WoW Obj importer? As I was following along exporting Stormwind and the terrain, I couldn't find that addon anywhere... which means I had to import each district, put them together, and try to fit them into place. I'd super love to know, and thanks for this tut. n.n
is it possible to export instances and raids? i need certain position of the camera that i can not do it in game.

I am having issue with key bindings when hitting number 0 when zeroing in on a map tile when importing. im back to using a simple logitech since my gaming keyboard broke do u think i should go back to a gaming keyboard to solve issue ??

I may need to update the tool, but wowobj addon is not working at the moment on Blender. It does not show up on the Addon's preference even when manually adding the folder in Blender.
Hi just popping in to ask a question;
I'm installing the WoW Exp for the first time and the tutorial I'm following says to get the addon for blender. However I'm getting an error message that says "Sorry, an unexpected error occurred trying to install the add-on". Anyway to fix that or..??

When i export a map tile, the obj does not contain any of the objects, they are exported separately it seems in another folder under world/ ,how did you manage to get all the models + terrain exported to one obj?

I'm having a problem while importing (or maybe exporting) objects, and I don't really know how to solve it, so if you could help I'd appreciate it a lot.
I do all exactly as the video, but when I import it on Blender, my object (no matter if it's a tree or a whole map) is transparent. It exists, but all the textures are just transparent, and I don't know how to make them appear
It may be a bit late, but for some transparent textures, I use Photoshop. to put a white layer underneath You could open it on paint, but preferably a software like gimp2 or clip art to do the job.
What's the other way around, let's say I'm building a dungeon in blender and I want to export it to world of Warcraft (private server)?

Hello. It looks very simple however I tried it and end up with untextured objects on which I have to dress it up with alot of Texture Image nodes. And not with the images that look like normal UV unwrapped images. With some objects it's puzzling to get the right texture image on an area of an object.
There are no doodad sets loaded in. Up to this point these things are no problem that can't be fixed by manual adding. The serious problems are the maps. I have three different obj import addons. None give an object in the viewport and the one addon for another program, and not from the one from WoWtool, works best as it loads something but does not display. The error given is 'can't find the information'. Perhaps you have ideas to troubleshoot some of these issues. Blender 2.81a
Problem found. The new version sets the map in a location orientation so not to overlap other maps. Crank up the view range to 100k in the viewport using N, view tab. Some maps can then be spotted when importing the OBJ.

I had the same problem, you just need to select Material viewport shading by clicking the icon in the top right, hope it helps!

1 minute to import the map? My blender is simply not being able to import maps, 10 minutes and nothing :(
Question; How do i position each tile next to each othe seamlessly?
Simply leave them all at 0,0,0 without doing the "object to geometry" thing. The world tiles are all positioned where they should be by default.
wow.tools does not have the side bar on the right that lets me pick listings and previews.
How do I turn this on?
Found the button, its in the bottom right "show controls".

It doesnt say import wow obj anywhere
If you've installed the Blender addon automatically from wow.export and you can't see in your Blender menu: Import > "WoW OBJ", you might need enable the addon (Edit menu > Preferences > Add-ons tab > search "wow" > be sure the box has a check in it to enable.). And if your Preferences don't save automatically, you should see a menu icon in the bottom-left of the Preferences window with an option to "Save Preferences". Hope that helped!

I'm having a similar issue with my terrain texture. It looks fine in Blender but when I import into Unreal the terrain texture turns into weird blocky blobs.
