Many people in prominent positions were regarded as 'untouchable'. A well known one was Cyril Smith, the former Liberal MP for Rochdale. There was enough evidence in 1970 to have had him convicted for offences against young boys. When the CID sergeant who'd put the case together in the local police (back in 1970 it would have been Lancashire, GMP didn't exist until 1974) asked what was happening about charging Smith for the offences, he was told to forget it, unless he wanted to remain as a sergeant for the rest of his career or be downgraded and put back in uniform. Years later, a file was released, indicating there was sufficient evidence to convict Smith, by then he was dead.
To think that Huw Edwards was breaking the news of the Queen's death months before his sexual misconduct scandal broke out was like a telltale sign that his news anchor career was going to have a spectacularly embarrassing end.
Well, there was that interview with Johnny Rotten who levelled accusations that the BBC took him to task over. The Beeb knew and sometimes it seemed like hints were dropped (ie: Rolf Harris virus episode of The Goodies) but that was as far as it went.

Rolf Harris for example? Cartoon Club, which specifically gave RH access to children, was not a BBC production. Some staff did raise concerns about his behaviour, but were brushed aside for ratings. Presenting this as an issue specific to the BBC, rather than a problem in the entertainment industry world-wide (also prevalent in sport coaching too), just endangers future victims. At the end of the day, who is responsible? The stressed out staff who have to deliver content, or the ego-maniac actor who thinks it a hoot to wave and fire a "fake" gun in a young cinematographer's face?

You guys should do another video like this for either ITV or Channel 4.
To think that Huw Edwards was breaking the news of the Queen's death months before his sexual misconduct scandal broke out was like a telltale sign that his news anchor career was going to have a spectacularly embarrassing end.
Jimmy Saville should be the top name.
Well, there was that interview with Johnny Rotten who levelled accusations that the BBC took him to task over. The Beeb knew and sometimes it seemed like hints were dropped (ie: Rolf Harris virus episode of The Goodies) but that was as far as it went.
I also remember that some BBC comedies from the 70s right through to the 90s that hinted Savile's creepiness too, but did it in such a way as to not trigger the BBCs defences.
@@albundy774 The Lee & Herring sketch with them both dressed in shell suits running the marathon and talking of being the one to take a dead runner's body to the morgue is legendary amoungst long time Lee & Herring fans.

I remember the Stuart Hall case. He invited the young copper who stopped him back to his house and got him drunk. As the lad had gone missing, not responding to his radio, his sergeant went searching for the young policeman and found him swerving about on the road in the police Range Rover. Hall got away with this but the young policeman got fired.
Well, it was the copper's prime responsibility in all aspects. However, that does not mean no action should have been taken against others if there was a case to answer.
@@MiscellanyTop At that time Hall was, like Saville, the big untouchable celebrity. The sordid truth and court appearances did not occur until many years later, even though his behaviour was common knowledge within the BBC for a long time.

How many of these individuals walk this country and get protected.
Quite chilling to think 2 years ago old Huw was announcing the Queens death.

You know, maybe if you guys stopped trying to "rehabilitate" these monsters and give them actually substantial prison sentences, we'd see a sharp drop in their activities.
I suspect that is a debate for the criminal-justice system as a whole.
Think of the extensive production assistants, drivers , programme producers , for every perpetrator maybe many other people ,

The law is way too lenient when it comes to animal cruelty
In Japan it's legal to screw animals...one of the main reasons I will never travel there.
what about the children?
And people pay a licence fee to this organisation
Only fools pay but then millions got a vaccine and thousands voted Starmer/Liebour so there are plenty of fools in the uk.
Because they want to

when i see BBC i see jimmy saville
I haven’t watched the BBC in years. I don’t pay for 💩
These are all just the personalities that committed these heinous offences. Equally culpable are all the bosses and executives that knew about it and did nothing to stop these monsters from doing it
I wonder how many more of them got away with this disgusting behaviour? BBC should have folded immediately when they knew, but did absolutely nothing about these predators, also all the one’s at the top who harboured them should also be prosecuted, and serve a lengthy prison sentence like their victims have!
Remind me how and why we pay these animals a wage?
Appropriate that Huw announced the queen's death, Andrew probably told him beforehand.

If you are still paying for it , you are part of the problem. Don't watch, don't listen and don't fund it. There are many alternatives
Certain people like to bring up melanin levels when certain crimes are committed.
So in the interest of the fair and balanced nature of RUclips comment sections...
These all seem to be 'the usual suspects'.
But Rolf Harris has always hurt me the most because I absolutely adored him as a kid. I loved how walked you through drawing cool things and Jake the Peg was one of my favourite songs.
We pay our TV licence to these people. They take the p*** out the people who fund them.
Some of us stopped paying it legitimately

You're gonna need a bigger list!
All the victims will have to live with this for the rest of their lives, heart breaking :(
The clip of the DG of the BBC calling Saville “Sir” is offensive on another level
Watchmojo seem to be rehashing the same lists but calling them different titles
You can do other videos that don't involve Jimmy Savile and Rolf Harris just letting you know...
Jimmy Saville made the hairs on my neck stand. I couldn’t look at him.
My Nan, back in the seventies, instinctively couldnt stand Saville, she always said he was creepy and no one really understood why until the news broke about what he was up to.
As a teenager in the late 60s Savile did the same to me and every other teenager I know. I was pop-music mad and TOTP was the only pop music show back then and compulsive viewing ... except when Savile was hosting. He gave everyone the creeps.
@@SuzyQ334 I’m a survivor from the age of seven. I kept my mouth shut. Not my blood but someone married him. My sense of safety, my mental health wasn’t in any good place. I hope you’re all doing OK.
The BBC should be charged with corporate sexual abuse. Its middle management knew full well what Savile was up to yet still gave him access to children on BBC property.
The majority of Saville's disgusting crimes were committed in hospitals, the majority at Stoke Mandeville, Leeds General Infirmary & Broadmoor where he had keys to secure areas.
@@eastwood978 Agreed, thanks to the glowing references from Margaret Thatcher, Edwina Currie, other government ministers, Royals and senior police officers.

We shouldn't be shocked, they advertise what they condone with a huge statue on the BBC building sculpted by Eric Gill.
The statue is of Prospero & Ariel from The Tempest written by William Shakespeare. The crimes of the artist wasn't known about at the time. Carravagio wasn't innocent so should his work be destroyed?
Not forgetting Pete Townshend had images of children on his computer.
He was not a BBC employee. He was abused as a child, consider how he has worked victimised characters into his rock opera "Tommy".
Is anyone surprised that the Chris Langham episode of "The Muppet Show" isn't on Disney+? Me neither.
The BBC knew all about Saville. I know a (then) young woman who worked at the BBC at the time and who was offered a job on a JS show. Some guy came up to her, took her aside and said "If I were you I wouldn't take that job" but he wouldn't say why. She decided to take his advice - thankfully.
I can't believe that Daniel Frogson did what he did, I loved him playing Joe in Joe All Alone, which I watched recently, now, my respect for him has gone down massively.
The BBC needs to be investigated.
You don't pled guilty, you plead guilty.

In places like the Middle East, Africa and Asia what we would consider "child abuse" and "sexual abuse of vulnerable adults" is both normal and legal.

so glad I cancelled my TV license . I do not need it at all .
When I watch TV and especially the BBC I realise what TOTAL rot it is . Only good thing on the BBC are the Attenborough Nature documentaries .
All well and good, but what we really need to see is the much longer list of the ones that have not been caught. I basically work on the assumption that they are all up to something reprehensible other they would not have passed the job interview. Maybe you don't have to be highly compromised to get even a job as the car park attendant at the BBC but it certainly seems to help.
Dont forget to pay your TV Licence!
Never paid it
Rolf Harris really shocked me. He seemed such a nice guy.
Harris was a huge disappointment to anyone who grew up with his TV shows. Savile gave every teenage girl I know the absolute creeps but no one would have picked Rolf Harris as a pae*do.
Yet they still send “threatening letters” and Capita goons to my home. 😂
I do not remember Peter Liddle, Hue Edwards, Danniel Frogston, Chirs Langham, David Lee Travis, Chirs Denning, Steve Kisch and Stuart Hall but I remember Rolf Harris and Jimmy Saville and I felt guilty and stupid.
This is USA calling...
Hardly any Yanks knew Jimmy Savile while he was alive. But for obvious reason he has quite the posthumous reputation Stateside- He was even mentioned directly in an episode of the American police drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit!
Wasn't it Billy Shakes who pointed out the good we do is interned with the bones- the evil doth live on...?
Jimmy Savile was friendly with Elvis Presley and other 1950s and 1960s acts When Elvis died Savile did a tribute to Elvis on Radio Luxemburg.
Hope it was before Lisa Marie was born!
Jimmy has been cloned he walks the earth
What the hell are we still paying a TV licence for ??
There can be no acceptable excuse for protecting, or defending, any adult person who harms a child
Saville "ruined" lists like this.
Two BBC presenter's were caught up in a police road block. One rolls down the window and asks the cop what the problem is. "We're looking for two child groomers" says the cop. They look at each other and tell the cop. "we'll do it."

Now let’s have the worst criminals who ever worked for Tesco.
And I bet most of them would be managers 🤣
Well there was the former CEO of Tesco who at one time was a Tory MP. Does he qualify?
And Sainsbury's
It's only in the past 6 months that I started watching You Tube. I didn't know of most of these people. It's shocking. I haven't lived in England for many years.
Lucky you! It’s bl00dy horrible here now 🇬🇧
Interesting how all these guys came from the BBC, yet no charges have been filed against an ITV or Channel 4 personality.
Stuart Hall surprised me. The others don't
I met him once at an old workplace of mine. He was so full of himself and he came across as a wrong 'un.
Poor dogs 🐩!!!
If the judge thought Daniel was disgusting and sickening ly guilty why did he only give him an eight month sentence thats disgusting.
