Thanks for doing the work on this comparison! To my ears the split Fralin gives more lo-mid meat to the jazz bass, which I know mine (with 70s pickup spacing) desperately needs.
Ive never played a jazz i enjoyed until this squier i got on trade for an amp build. Turns out it has fralin split in bridge and stock in the neck. Im new to playing bass so maybe ive grown to appreciate the sound now? But fralin in this squier is the best jazz tone ive ever heard in person.
Nice to hear this kind of test. Difference is bigger between the bridge pickups then between the neck which are very similar. For my taste, Fralin bridge is more pleasant to my ears.
They sound so close you would probably never hear the difference in a mix-- unless the single coils were picking up some bad hum. I'd take the split Fralins all day base on this!
I’m sold! Did you get overwound/normal or underwound?

So clear with the Fralins!

Are the Fralins stock wind or overwound ?
Sweet thanks for the comparison (best on YT btw) ! What are your impressions after having them on for a little while if I may ask?
Если разницы не слышно, то зачем платить больше?)
I like Fender more, although a little difference
Fender IS the electric bass - just like Heinz is ketchup. Anything else is a copy and is different, but not necessarily better.
I hear absolutely no difference
Yes, it sounds like a jazz bass ;) But the Fralins have absolutely no noise and also feel more powerful.
that's a good thing if it's little difference but no hum!
