@@thefrugaljedi I have a MicroSD card in my LGT Luke xenopixel lightsaber, but I've been too afraid to change anything on it for fear of messing it up. I created a copy of the files, but I'm still too nervous to touch it. That's part of the reason why I'm perfectly satisfied with the SN-Pixel on my Ghost, as I probably won't be changing anything anyway.

Great video! Very informative. Just ordered my ghost saber a few days ago. I took your advice and asked them if I could get the 36 inch blade instead of the 32 and they were more than happy to do that for me. I anxiously await the arrival of my new ghost saber! @@thefrugaljedi I agree on the two button setup, also don't mind the way the battery is charged because I don't care for a charge port on a hilt as far as aesthetics go. Another thing I like about the way they've set this one up is having the multiple volume levels instead of just mute low and loud like quite a few of the ones I have.
I like to revisit this video every time I wonder which hilt to get, with all the fun hilts that have come out since, this is oddly still my ideal hilt despite my love for curved hilt

Thanks so much for reviewing budget sabers! I have replica sabers but also collect saber hilts for display only which I choose the base-lit version . I could have gotten empty hilts as they are even cheaper but I like to switch the hilts on while on display sometimes. This Ghost is very eye-catching and I may just pick one up in future.
Howdy! Great video! I own one of these (two button) sabers, and I can not figure out how to change the turn-off effect. I finally figured out how to get it to ignite like a normal lightsaber, but it always powers down in the opposite way. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Some of the SN-PIXEL V3 cores; which is 16 soundfonts without an SD Card, randomly choose the shut off direction. It could be to the tip, to the hilt or to the center. What core do you have?

I have the Judger, Ghost, and Relic Hunter. While I LOVE the looks of the sabers, the buttons keep becoming loose when playing with the saber (and especially dueling). I can’t glue them in because they need to be removed to get to the board. Have you found any way to secure them but still make them removable?
At the time of this review, this saber was using sn-pixel v3. If you were to order the Ghost today, it would most likely be snpixel v4 or the newest v4 pro.
@thefrugaljedi I also discovered another difference with the Ghost models. The power and auxiliary buttons on the hilt for one version are actually translucent, and are illuminated when pushed unlike other models that are entirely silver metal.
I got an sn-pixel last year. I thought the light effects were good, but the soundboard was pretty bad. The sound was super tinny and sounds like nails on a chalkboard. Didn’t help when I replaced the speaker. It also had some numerous and very random sounds like the Jurassic Park theme song and quotes from the highlander (“you cannot die McCloud!”). 😆. I thought the lighting effects were great, though, with nice ignition effects, clashes, etc. I just wish the sound was better. This does look maybe like a newer version than mine, though. Thanks for another good review!
You’ll have to try a T-Pixel next. I have a couple of those. I’d rate it slightly higher than the sn-pixel, mainly based on sound. I think my sn-pixel is an older version than yours, though, so your sound might be better. The t-pixel has some random sounds/music, too. There is a whole Luigi’s Mansion blade style as well as some music from the matrix. Also, the t-pixel has a removable memory card you can customize.
That's actually the next saber I'll be reviewing. I already have it in my possession. It'll be a 2 part video like the Xenopixel. There isn't a lot of information out there that explains the workings of the SD card files so I tackled it and will upload a tutorial.

Xenopixel is produced by DAMIENSABER and has a MicroSD card so you can add more Soundfonts. SN-Pixel v3 cannot. Txq is releasing their new sn-pixel soundboard (review coming!) which adds a MicroSD card so it can be on par with Xenopixel. A lot of companies use the term NEOPIXEL as a generic term to refer to sabers with pixel soundboards and LED blades. SN-PIXEL stands for SUPER NEOPIXEL but because of legalities they don't use that term. I've never reviewed a true NEOPIXEL branded saber.
You can't go wrong with the GHOST! It's such a gorgeous design. Ask TXQ it the new sn-pixel soundboard with microSD is available yet if adding soundfonts is something that interests you.

In terms of sound, they will be identical as they will use the same core whether it's pixel or RGB. The pixel cores do use better speakers than the RGB. I haven't seen the 16 sound RGB core so I'm not sure what speaker it has. Which one to recommend? That's tough. They're both nice designs. The X-LOTUS is a lot bigger than the Ghost. Better for 2 handed but also heavier. If you're buying the sn-pixel version, then I'd say the Ghost hands down. The 2 button configuration makes it so much easier to use then having everything controlled by one button

@@thefrugaljedi Thanks! Looking forward to the numbers 😄 Yeah the proffieOS is open source so you can build your saber and program the buttons just as you like (if you know how to code that stuff). There are many different scripts created allready to support 1, 2 and even 3 button sabers that you can add to your proffie config when setting up the saber 🙂 I have a two button myself.

I love it. Im getting one. Only thing is, the battery is a 2000mah. Well at least thats what it says on aliexpress. How long does the battery last when you swing it?
Mine has been perfect. I've had crackly speakers on other sabers but that's because they wrap the core in heat shrink plastic and it vibrates on the speaker making that crackly sound. Pealing a bit of the heat shrink off solved it.
Question about the Snpixel sabers, is there a possible chance I could use a Neopixel blade on an SNPixel lightsaber? Or are they both based on different voltage requirements?
That's a good question. Where did you get your Neopixel blade from? I'll have to do some researching. What I do know is that SN-PIXEL, Xenopixel, Proffie, Astaria, and possibly CFX (but I haven't used CFX so I can't confirm) use the same type of pixel blades.
@@thefrugaljedi I've been seeing NeoPixel blades being advertised quite often from BC Canada locations lately, from companies like NeoSabers, NSabers, Art Sabers, ZiaSabers, SabersPro. I bought my Blade from CRSabers, currently waiting to see if my SabNeo V8 lightsaber will be shipped in this week to test it out. I've never seen a Xenopixel in person yet, so I'm not too sure what differences there are. The advertised "Cuttable NeoPixel blades! Shorten to your heart's content!" is kind of scary lol I haven't seen any reviews from anyone if it's safe to shorten this down shorter with pipe cutters.
@@DisgustingJustinAD By what you've told me, the Neopixel blade can be interchanged. I will be reviewing a saber from NSABERS soon and it's no different in design. Please don't cut your pixel blade. In theory you can shorten a Neopixel blade but you'd have to cut the LED strips inside and resolder. It's not as simple as just cutting straight through.
Hello man, I have ordered and receive this saber but for certain soundfonts (a lot of them) the speaker makes the hilt and the buttons vibrate, making a buzzing sound. Do you have that ? Contacted the support and they told me it is normal. (I have some videos where we can here the noise if I can send to you in PM)

I’d give the hilt a 10/10 I would give the sn-pixel board a 6/10. As far as pixel goes it’s a really cheap alternative but you can’t customize the sound fonts like in xenopixel. I would always recommend xenopixel over sn-pixel. But as far as budget boards go it’s fine. Good video definite sub!
I asked Damiensaber if they have this hilt and they don't so the only option was SN-Pixel or proffie and the latter is out of my price range. Later this month or November, I'll be installing the new sn-pixel core with microSD. I'm excited for that!

The Premium is baselit where the light is built into the hilt and the blade is hollow. SN-Pixel v3 uses a pixel blade that has LEDs built into the blade. It has ignition effects and more blade styles. SN-Pixel v4 is the same concept as v3 but you can add more soundfonts and music. Proffie 2.2 is also a pixel blade but it's for advanced users who want to program the lightsaber in every way imaginable.
i would love to see a curved hilt version of this, its just so stunning that a curved hilt would really emphasis the beauty of this design, plus we need more variety of curved hilts on the market
I agree. The only curved hilts I've seen are ventress and Dooku. I also need to add a cross guard saber to my collection. There is a certain one I have my eye on. I have a black series Kylo Ren but it pales in comparison to Neopixel.

Just got mine today, the buttons were super loose so I just used teflon tape to thicken the threads and now they don't wobble and are solid af!
I didn't have that problem with mine. I just made sure the buttons were screwed in all the way. Teflon tape is so handy for projects!

Teflon tape around the threading makes them grippier. You can get it at any hardware store.
I just picked up the SNV4 version of this one for $142 shipped on AE. I'm hoping to figure out a way to attach a covertech wheel on it.

Yes it could. You could fry the soundboard. Most saber companies recommend 5v 1A.

I heard that one version of the Ghost is app enabled and controlled.

I bought the SN-Pixel version and it doesn't have all the fonts inspired by non-Star Wars products, among others.

Sound volume will also affect battery life but usually 3 to 4 hours of use

What I do know is that SN-PIXEL, Xenopixel, Proffie, Astaria, and possibly CFX (but I haven't used CFX so I can't confirm) use the same type of pixel blades.
@@thefrugaljedi I've been seeing NeoPixel blades being advertised quite often from BC Canada locations lately, from companies like NeoSabers, NSabers, Art Sabers, ZiaSabers, SabersPro.
I bought my Blade from CRSabers, currently waiting to see if my SabNeo V8 lightsaber will be shipped in this week to test it out. I've never seen a Xenopixel in person yet, so I'm not too sure what differences there are.
The advertised "Cuttable NeoPixel blades! Shorten to your heart's content!" is kind of scary lol I haven't seen any reviews from anyone if it's safe to shorten this down shorter with pipe cutters.
@@DisgustingJustinAD By what you've told me, the Neopixel blade can be interchanged. I will be reviewing a saber from NSABERS soon and it's no different in design. Please don't cut your pixel blade. In theory you can shorten a Neopixel blade but you'd have to cut the LED strips inside and resolder. It's not as simple as just cutting straight through.
is this lightsaber a replica of sort and from what star wars series.
It's not a replica but it is a beautiful design that looks like it should be in Star Wars canon.
Hello man, I have ordered and receive this saber but for certain soundfonts (a lot of them) the speaker makes the hilt and the buttons vibrate, making a buzzing sound. Do you have that ? Contacted the support and they told me it is normal. (I have some videos where we can here the noise if I can send to you in PM)

The features are exactly the same as the Sabneo Sabers V8 Neopixel. The only difference is the hilt. Down to the Jurassic Park music lol
That is because the V8 uses a TXQSaber core. The only difference is the custom shutdown sound effect that Sabneo has.
Is there a way to stop the scrolling effect from changing when you turn the saber off?
Unfortunately no. It'll choose from 3 different retractions

Internally they are exactly the same. It comes down to personal preference of hilt design and price. The ghost costs a bit more.

It is sn-pixel v3. At the time of this review, sn-pixel v4 wasn't out yet. I recommend the v4 over v3. It's next level!
I’d give the hilt a 10/10 I would give the sn-pixel board a 6/10. As far as pixel goes it’s a really cheap alternative but you can’t customize the sound fonts like in xenopixel. I would always recommend xenopixel over sn-pixel. But as far as budget boards go it’s fine. Good video definite sub!
I asked Damiensaber if they have this hilt and they don't so the only option was SN-Pixel or proffie and the latter is out of my price range. Later this month or November, I'll be installing the new sn-pixel core with microSD. I'm excited for that!

This is a saber that will never leave my collection. When I reviewed it, only SN-Pixel v3 was available. Now with Sn-pixel v4, this saber is a beast!

Is this the premium? What’s the different?
The Premium is baselit where the light is built into the hilt and the blade is hollow. SN-Pixel v3 uses a pixel blade that has LEDs built into the blade. It has ignition effects and more blade styles. SN-Pixel v4 is the same concept as v3 but you can add more soundfonts and music. Proffie 2.2 is also a pixel blade but it's for advanced users who want to program the lightsaber in every way imaginable.

i would love to see a curved hilt version of this, its just so stunning that a curved hilt would really emphasis the beauty of this design, plus we need more variety of curved hilts on the market
I agree. The only curved hilts I've seen are ventress and Dooku. I also need to add a cross guard saber to my collection. There is a certain one I have my eye on. I have a black series Kylo Ren but it pales in comparison to Neopixel.
