Properly good detailed review and entertaining, you haven't sold me that car but it's well worth a look, thanks for the shout out ! appreciating your efforts, hope your cold improved !
That was a really top notch review there mate, certainly one of the most thorough reviews of this car I’ve seen. I’d have one of these over the Golf R (see what next year brings) purely because it is a bit different and you’ve got to learn the car to tap into it’s performance potential, and I like that challenge. Definitely do this format again, it’s nice to see this level of interaction with your viewers.
Hi mate, another fab video! Always been a big fan of Subaru's. More so now than ever as not many on the road. Bit of a rare car now as VW, Audi, Mercedes & BMW have taken over the roads in our days.
This generation Subaru Wrx was what I wanted before I decided to go for the Audi. The Subaru’s just hold there value at a crazy level. But yes a very attractive car! Awesome review sir
Great review and thanks for answering my questions. I think you’ve hit a bit of a gem with this format, it’s answering the type of things that drivers want to know, rather than the standard stuff, so keep them coming 👍. The car looks like a lot of fun and a lot for your money.
Just a note on what you said about it being great 5-10 years ago, Subarus age brilliantly, the 2006 models looked weird at first, but now look..... Just right, I bet in the future people will look back and say.... 2018 Subaru..... 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Good review I bought a 2014 sti back in March 2018. When I got it home and read through the manual, i found out that it should run on super unleaded petrol. I live in Northern Ireland and super unleaded is not widely available. Furthermore i travel to the Republic of Ireland quite often and super unleaded is not available here at all. I contacted quite a few petrol companies to confirm the situation. Sadly, due to the hassle with the shortage of super unleaded here I was forced to sell the car again.
Don’t ever change mate, please don’t ever wrap any of your cars lol! Another great review with realistic real world content. Also you review cars that are accessible to all levels of people and their budget. P.s You need to start selling the merch! Lol
Interesting review ... this is MY17 not current MY18. In Australia, WRX premium and the STi come with sunroof, satnav and harmon kardon stereo. Looks like UK got a stripped down version.
Like the in-car Pete, always nice to see.. just don't see enough on most channels and i think it's the best way to get a 'feel' for what she's like on the road, from a 'couch petrato' perspective :) Nice review also, i'd take an F6 Caymen from this kind of car area..
I think you hit the nail on the head there when you compare it to what's available now the power is lacking but remembering what the original was it's still a step forward. It does disappoint me when they fall short on taking an old legend to what you'd expect it to be though and I have a sneaking suspicion that Toyota are about the make the same mistake with the new model supra. I'd say the only ones to have successfully revived a legend are Nissan with the GTR and when you consider that will only set you back a few more grand for a used model I know where I would rather put my money!
Petrol Ped you are a very lucky man! The gtr has never let the side down Nissan really went all out to preserve the godzilla heritage and succeeded in every aspect!
Thanks for answering the question about the clutch. As a daily in peak hour traffic, I think the long throw would take the polish off the ownership experience. It may also be responsible for the 6.1s 0-60 versus claimed 5.2s.
to be honest the problem is that The Grand Tour comes out on a Friday - I get home at 6pm sooooooooooo I'm sorry but I get my grand Tour fix first - then you come right after :-) ................. must admit its getting harder to choose though - great review and good job well done
Petrol Ped tbh in my opinion after my other 4 sti's they were that noisy I was finally relieved this new model was more descreet , I can now go places without everyone knowing my move !
dont forget that the new sti weighs alot more than a older sti. especially the jdm models. there something like 1200kg all ali body so very light. i had a jdm model few years back and it certainly felt bloddy fast lol
I really hate how Subaru have flattened the most iconic design element of the WRX/STI - the bonnet scoop. They used to look so much better when they had a higher profile.
Still got mixed feelings about this car, it's definitely not what it used to be. I think Subaru need to rethink their format and design, the old ways of the Impreza just don't cut it any more in these times. But looked like a laugh, probably would suit some personalities 👍 nice review
Great review. It's such an iconic car and it's a shame it has fallen slightly behind. Maybe if it had a little German DNA threaded though the car but not its soul, it could return as a world beater in its class.
The car is unique, it doesnt need infecting with anything related to German brands which UK drivers seem obsessed with for boosting their egos. Sad or what.
Properly good detailed review and entertaining, you haven't sold me that car but it's well worth a look, thanks for the shout out ! appreciating your efforts, hope your cold improved !
Cold all sorted now mate...I was very brave ;-)

Cheers James. Glad you enjoyed the review and liked the format. I like getting you guys involved whenever I can.

Very true, you don't see (hear !) nearly as many as you used to :-(
Fantastic, honest and open review.
Thanks Kharn...glad you enjoyed it :-)
Love it Pete. I loved the little dig at wrapping the car too! 😂😂
Loved the audio on the intro 😎 Nice new merch too 😛
I need to get one of those lapel mics you use :-)
Thank you for a great review mr Ped! Not my sort of car but thought your coverage of it was great.
Cheers Ray, always try and bring you a nice mix :-)

This was was certainly fun 👍
Thanks Pete for the shout out!

You defo are not going anywhere wrong pal. Perfect review as always.
Really enjoy your reviews...Keep em coming, please
Cheers Dean...that's the plan :-)

You could be right there Lucille :-)
A very helpful video Peter. One of those cars I'd like to have had.
I always wanted a P1 !
Good review

WOW...not good :-(

Not a fan of wraps so no worries there ! You never know...I might well sell merch one day ;-)
Nice format..good informative video. Car was not as good as I hoped but like you say 300 bhp is not that extreme anymore..such is progress!
It's still a great car and for many people would scare the c**p out of them ;-)
Mark, that’s uncanny as ya got the same name as me pal!! I had to look twice lol.
great review thanks for your hard work. keep the reviews coming.
My pleasure Jason. Glad you enjoyed it :-)
4th gear start?? New on me too. Clutch must love that lol. Great review Peter as always. Thankyou pal.
Interesting review ... this is MY17 not current MY18. In Australia, WRX premium and the STi come with sunroof, satnav and harmon kardon stereo. Looks like UK got a stripped down version.
good video thanks for the fourth gear pull away thanks ! great interaction with your sub keep it up !
The clutch didn't thank me :-)
I forgot the car is turbocharged
My bad ✌
Love Your uploads not trying to be a typical RUclipsr straight to the point reviews love it keep it up
I'm a avid watcher
Ps love the watch 👍
Cheers Munawar. I'm trying to do something a little different. You can't beat a Breitling :-)
Great review Peter, thoroughly enjoyed it .... More of the same please 👍
Next up for a Collaboration Review is the new Audi RS4 :-)
Thanks for submitting your question ;-)
Great review, thanks Peter! :)
My pleasure Russell :-)

Brilliant, thanks. A lot of work but a nice way to do a review.

I too hope the new Supra is awesome. I'm driving a VERY nice Litchfield tuned GTR in a couple of weeks...can't wait :-)
Petrol Ped you are a very lucky man! The gtr has never let the side down Nissan really went all out to preserve the godzilla heritage and succeeded in every aspect!
Just discovered this channel, glad to subscribe realllly good presentation
Hi Danny. Welcome and thanks for the Sub :-)
Now that's a full review.. 👍👍
A little longer than I would normally like Ian but I had lots to fit in :-)
Great video as usual.Thank you.
Cheers Colin, glad you enjoyed it :-)
Very busy under the bonnet. Lot of tec going on in a small place. 27.2, fairly cool for the hp. Servicing it tidy. Thanks pal.
Thanks for answering the question about the clutch. As a daily in peak hour traffic, I think the long throw would take the polish off the ownership experience. It may also be responsible for the 6.1s 0-60 versus claimed 5.2s.
0-60 is 4.9 . in oz we get 5.2 on average in Australia to 100km hr
Enjoyable review - Thank you! The Subaru is definitely old school now but at least they make a 4 pot boxer sound good. Porsche take note!
LOL...that is true, although I don't think the 718 sounds that bad !
Thx for doing 0-60 ped Also nice video
Thanks for the suggestion dude :-)
to be honest the problem is that The Grand Tour comes out on a Friday - I get home at 6pm sooooooooooo I'm sorry but I get my grand Tour fix first - then you come right after :-) ................. must admit its getting harder to choose though - great review and good job well done
As long as you watch me too I don't mind coming second !
these brand new here at Australia are $58K+ but the price doesn't stop me as its my dream car
They are ace 👍
Oz or us dollar ?
Great review Peter Love the new petrol ped hat 🏁👍👍 PS I think you should do a little WRAP in your next review 😉
Car WRAP or Gangsta WRAP ;-)
Petrol Ped Gangsta
I love boost pressure gauges in the centre.
I thought the latest WRX STI had the cool neon yellow brake calippers? Cheers!
Maybe that is a spec option ?!
Petrol Ped could be... but all final edition I've seen have yellow callippers..
How do you rank the WRX STI to a MK3 Focus RS? Cheers!
I think it’s the lack of noise which is the problem for me as well.
Big pipes needed !
Petrol Ped tbh in my opinion after my other 4 sti's they were that noisy I was finally relieved this new model was more descreet , I can now go places without everyone knowing my move !
Nice vid Pete. Where can we get a “Petro Ped” hat from?
People seem to like them so you never know, one day I might start selling merch !
pretty sure u can choose the spt exhaust from factory.
dont forget that the new sti weighs alot more than a older sti. especially the jdm models. there something like 1200kg all ali body so very light. i had a jdm model few years back and it certainly felt bloddy fast lol
That's interesting. I didn't know the JDM version was that different.
90s sti 1250k -1300kg
Hey Pedro, why not take yourself on a rally driving course? Should make a great video!
I am so going to do that this year. It's been something I've wanted to plan for quite a while now so watch this space :-)
Coolio! Where did I put my popcorn?
I really hate how Subaru have flattened the most iconic design element of the WRX/STI - the bonnet scoop. They used to look so much better when they had a higher profile.
I know what you mean. They used to be huge 😜
Subaru wrx sti . Easy the best by far
Looks slightly Monaro esq from the rear
Good shout !
Beautiful iconic car, legend but it’s time for a re vamp interior wise on the Scooby Doo 🍺
Still got mixed feelings about this car, it's definitely not what it used to be. I think Subaru need to rethink their format and design, the old ways of the Impreza just don't cut it any more in these times. But looked like a laugh, probably would suit some personalities 👍 nice review
I will certainly have it's fans and also those who say no thanks !
Great video
Cheers Ad :-)
Fabulous.
Let’s go
Great car , looking for some help here please 👍
Help with what ?!
amazing :)
The Sat Nav on this car is really dated. And no apple car play when its on the 2017 Impreza is still a sore spot. But who buys this car for that?!
Exactly :-)
Great review. It's such an iconic car and it's a shame it has fallen slightly behind. Maybe if it had a little German DNA threaded though the car but not its soul, it could return as a world beater in its class.
It is SO close to being magnificent ! Oh, and thanks for the question :-)
The car is unique, it doesnt need infecting with anything related to German brands which UK drivers seem obsessed with for boosting their egos. Sad or what.
👍🏻
4th gear pull away = ringland failure lol
Errr rear passenger space, yeah. Ya did make me laugh ya silly sod.
Not the best :-0
Pls back
Damn it, I was expecting an iPod at least *Dislikes*
Nah jk *likes*
..way over the top for me.Pete
......problem is ,once you're use to an Audi interior...........
Interior looks dated already!
You are lugging the engine starting on 4th gear its not a v8 pointless exercise there.
Just a bit of fun !
