  • Markus Villig founded Bolt in 2013 in the city of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The company was initially named as Taxify, and it was later renamed to Bolt. In 2013, at the age of 19, Marcus took a loan of $6500 from his family to create a Taxi app. Under the leadership of CEO Markus, who is now 29 years old, Bolt has become a global taxi brand. Today Bolt taxi app is available in 45 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Marcus diversified Bolt's services to include food and grocery delivery. Today Bolt is main European rival of Uber in Europe. Bolt is valued at $8 Billion and the taxi startup expected to go for IPO in 2025.
