I don't change gloves, but I can't imagine the little I have on my gloves would make a difference when you are talking 4 gallons of water. I mix the solutions with a stick that is exclusively for that chemical, but when I am removing items from the tannin to the AA pot, the items themselves would contaminate the AA pot far more than the gloves. In fact, I have found that I can add items from the tannin pot to the AA only a couple of times before I have to discard the AA pot and make a fresh one.
Actually, all of the stove top dyes have both cotton and linen mortanted both ways in them. There are several on this channel so far with more on the way.
I'm really sorry, but unfortunately, not that I know of. I learned the hard way way back in the beginning to go easy on iron. In fact, I only use 1-2% WOG when I do use it.

That's hilarious! I never thought about how I pronounce words. I'm from an area of southern Indiana that is in a language region called the Hoosier Apex. Those living there speak a more Appalachian version of English and I had a pretty thick accent when I first moved to Indianapolis. So much so that I found it hard to get a job until I purposefully changed my accent to a more Midwestern one. I guess it's not all changed, huh? ;) I'll keep an eye out and dry to pronounce mordant properly, but don't laugh too hard when I slip up.

You can use the AA again. I just add more according to the dry weight of what needs mordanted. Also, no heat is needed.

Do mean aluminum sulfate or aluminum acetate?
Aluminum acetate for cellulose fibers. Aluminum sulfate for protein fibers.

Linda, I don’t hear the “t” in mordant you are referring to. Benita says the word the way we say it in the Midwest US.
I live in Michigan. I hear the “T” instead of “D”.
