I was 6 in 1990 as well. We grew up in the best era! We caught a big chunk of the 80s and all of the 90s. Perfect. Best toys and videogames by far. Hell the best general atmosphere by far in the history of mankind. I'm truly grateful for it.
Honestly, the speedrun of this game is the most intense and brutal I've seen. The first few screens at the start set the pace of the run to get all the initial resources. And mistakes are costly. The game doesn't help by having serious lag in certain parts which might cause missed inputs, and to overcome all the rng and manage lag you have to adapt your strategy and react on split seconds. Congratz on the WR Endy, you're legend :)
As a kid i never made it past level 3-3,seeing how you destroyed the first 2 bosses blew my mind! I usually would spend like solid 5 minutes on the first one and would die one or two times on the second one. 3-1 with the giant jumping dudes was barebones impossible. Congrats on the world record!

i couldn't pass @3:55 when i was child, god damn boss. I spent months on this, even my friend couldn't pass this. God I hate nes games. nice run btw congrats
Crazy how you did the joker with NO damage. How long do you think a run like this took to master? It took me around 30 minutes of playing just the joker with save states to beat him with only getting hit once. I never did it again, ha ha. No damage in a full run seems INSANE. Very impressive.
@@markpaulabad986 Yea that seems to be the best method. I was able to beat him one time with only getting hit once by fighting up close with the batarangs but it was very inconsistant.
My wife bought the cart for me as a Christmas gift this year. Haven't played it in who knows how long. 30 years and change at least. Anyway. Took me many many stabs at the last level. But I finally did it. And I has the realization.... This is why I like games like Dark Souls. Games used to be hard. And therefore rewarding. Sick run! I wish I'd have known I could just rush Joker down and beat is ass to death!!!
