- Following a midmorning appearance in neighboring Michigan, GOP candidate for vice president Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) is holding a whistle-stop rally Wednesday afternoon at the Eau Claire, Wis., airport.
The two states are part of the “Blue Wall” of the North-central U.S. in which Democrats are looking to rebuild support in the run-up to November’s election. When former President Trump announced Vance’s place with him on the Republican ticket at the convention in Milwaukee in mid-July, Wisconsin had looked like it was swinging Republican.
But the change from President Biden to Vice President Harris by Democrats has lessened, erased and even reversed the GOP lead in polling in the big seven swing states.
Vance is slated to appear in Eau Claire at 1:30 p.m. EDT.

He was raised very poor, and he's speaking to how it would have affected his family growing up, which he's referenced multiple times now. Clearly he's not claiming to not be able to cover groceries...

Forget that it's a verifable fact that the whole weird thing came from a candid interview with Waltz. Focus instead on the things he chose to use in his attempt to paint it as something laughable: 1) Young people 2) People who are trying to get their start in a career via internship 3) People who have been bullied. Vance thinks these people are not to be taken seriously or he wouldn't have used "some 24 year old interns who have been bullied their whole lives" to discredit the weird descriptor. If you are a part of these groups...show him at the polls that you are not to be trifled with.
