  • I'm beginning to realize that this show is really mostly Trader Vic's cocktails. The goal was always to feature vintage tiki cocktails. As far as someone who created so many cocktails with specific directions as to what glassware to use with which garnishes, no one compares to Victor Bergeron. And that's just fine with me. If you've ever been to a vintage Trader Vic's, then you know how perfect tiki can be. He set the standard. And thankfully, Vic also put out recipe books! So here's a tasty one, mixed with help of my gorgeous friend, Tiffany.
FOLLOW Tiffany on IG: @tiffanycreates and @tiffanytothxoxo
    To make the the drink:
    --------------------------------------
    4oz unsweetened pineapple juice
1oz coconut cream (Coco Lopez or Coco Real)
    2oz vodka
    1 1/4oz macademia nut liqueur
    --------------------------------------
    Blend with ice till slushy.
Serve in a 'ten pin pilsner' glass
    --------------------------------------
BUY the Breezeway Cocktail Hour tiki mug: thehulagirls.bigcartel.com
The mug is available in a limited edition of 300 and at the posting of this video, 1/3 of them are already sold out. The mug was loosely modeled after the Leroy Schmaltz-carved tiki (Oceanic Arts) that flanks the left side of the Breezeway bar. This will sell out and once they're gone, they're gone for good. I'm so glad you mentioned Stowaway! That's the bar that turned me on to tiki! My son and I were enjoying the main bar out there in the center of Union Market at The District, and he noticed there seemed to be some sort of bar tucked behind this little door near the restrooms. So we checked it out. I had a flight of rums (great selection there!) and he ordered a Mai Tai, a drink which neither of us had tried before. Boom! So good! Been hooked on tiki ever since. Great food there in addition to great cocktails. Unfortunately, the place was lost due to increasing rents at the District. But I understand they've opened a new (not exactly tiki) place in San Clemente named The Lost Inferno. Looking forward to giving it a try!

Had to go back and look this up. It's my fiance and my favorite drink. We tell everyone it's a two chi chi limit and they laugh. We had 5 a piece one night and found out 2 is the limit. LOL. They make their own coconut creme here where we live

Thanks! The funny thing is that my music subscription website where I get my music from doesn't have 'exotica' as an option... so I find some classic sounding jazz and put jungle noises over it! Tada! Exotica!

Grab a can of coconut cream from Trader Joe’s (don’t substitute a different brand, they taste funky) and mix it with 1 cup of raw sugar over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Perfect creme of coconut.

I was going to say the exact same thing (except specifying Trader Joe's as we don't have them here). So simple to make and so tasty.

Spike's Breezeway Cocktail Hour sometimes I throw in a 1/4 tsp of coconut extract too. Also sprouts coconut cream works too. But just those two brands.

Man I thought you were in so much trouble from the cork question, and then in the outtake’s when she’s asking “ what did you say” you took a step away. Maybe before the cork question should be one like, do you know a martial art or use something for self defence. Another great episode and Tiffanyrecreats is definitely worth a look.

That outro is excellent and really sets the mood. My only concern is by coming at the very end of the video so much of that work may go unnoticed for those who do not get all the way through. I wonder if it might make sense to have as the teaser introduction to the drink making that will follow.

I keep wondering that too... Most viewers drop off at the completion of the cocktail...

@@BreezewayCocktailHour If you were to make a video about it, It would probably be better to do it along with a load of other tiki syrups and such because it really is as simple as measuring out the coconut milk, adding the same or double the amount of sugar and then heating it up until it boils, before turning the heat down and simmering for a while. On its own, probably won't be enough for a video unless it's a short one. Add in cinnamon syrup, orgeat, grenadine, etc and you would have a decent run time I think. Due to where I live, I have to make practically everything that isn't booze related, and even then I have to in some cases; currently making some allspice dram where it's in the 14-day-rest period.

Once you explained it, Tiffany nailed the outro. Well, your camera work wasn't shabby either, LOL. Focus on the pretty girl then the drink then the garnish and the pretty girl enjoying the garnish. You gave all parts of the episodes subject a moment of focus. You're very talented. Do you have any videos of your photo shoots?
