It´s really great to see Angra and Andre Mattos being recognized by foreigners. Andre Mattos was arguably one of the best singers ever in Brazil. I say was because unfortunately he died from a heart attack a couple of months ago. I am not sure if you knew that already, but seeing you doing all these videos on his work, I just thought it would be appropriate for you to know about this tragic.
Perfect analysis of Andre Matos's voice. The voice with the drive and weight would be the best to sing Angra's songs. He uses this technique most intensely on Shaaman CDs. Great job and carry on!
Yay! Thanks for the birthday gift! Been looking forward to this video for a while now. Hope you can get to A New Moonlight by Andre Matos soon, hopefully. And if you have the time, some Avantasia would be great!
I agree. If you really love masterpieces of an artist you must have at least one of his/her physical art. A CD, a book, a painting, whatever... it is a real signal of respect to their work.
take a look at some songs from Andre Matos early carrer, in the band "Viper". some songs like Moonlight (yes, it's inspired by beethoven's moonlight sonata) and living for the night. Also, watch the video of when he sang with Bruce Dickinson (Run to the Hills and Flight of Icarus)
good reaction man! Btw, his falsetos were limited, there's a recent lecture of him, some sort of workshop, where he talks about falseto, and he says that he barely used it, and he used mostly chest-voice, and he explained one song that he used for a little bit the falseto which is Fairy Tale. There's also an old video of him, in 2000 that he says he does use falseto and there's nothing wrong with that. Btw you got a really good collection of books man, though I could only see the Malcom X ones haha, and I think I see one written in hebrew aswell, not sure, you seem to be open-minded which is awesome. Fun fact is that Rafael Bittencourt, the current rhythm guitarist from 1991 to this day, he studied to be a priest, and I'm pretty sure those lyrics were wrote as a criticism to some flaws of the Catholic Church, unfortunately.
Andre Matos is unbelievable as a singer and artist.

It's really a beauty song.
You gotta listen to Deep Blue. One of the Angra's all-time-best.
