I realized in the main titles mentioning Hogan, Nash, Hall, Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat, the titles quoted SUCCEED IN WCW AND WCW. You can check it out. I'm a big fan of your videos. Keep doing a great job.
Scott Hall is the one wrestler who should have been world champion in both promotions but never got his run with either championship. Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit could have all been in this video.
We also have to remember that both Scott Hall and Kevin Nash had been in WCW before being successful in WWF. Their second time in WCW was more successful in the long run.
God damnit, I REALLY miss The Macho Man. Such a tragedy, what happened to him. Out of all his great promos, I remember the one before SummerSlam '92, where he looked Warrior right in the eye and said "I'm the Macho Man Randy Savage...and I'm the World Wrestling Federation Champion. AND YOU'RE NOT!!!"
As a young Cuban American I loved Razor Ramon I never missed a chance to see him. I know now he wasn't Cuban but he did the stereotype so well that I thought I could have been related to him lol and living in Knoxville TN we all love Kevin Nash
Don't forget The Road Warriors were also very successful in New Japan. They were iconic overseas. To me they are the greatest tag team of all time. Period.
Can't quite agree with that as Hawk teamed with Kensuke Suzuki to form The Power Warriors, which made Animal mad because Hawk was using LOD fame for that off-shoot.
@@GBTwelveSixteen You are a bit wrong. Kensuke was Power Warrior, they formed the team Hell Razors. And no Animal was not mad that Hawk tamed with Kensuki, he was injured. Hawk asked Animal before he left if it was ok with this this and Animal said yes. No cue where you are getting this information from, it is wrong. Find an Animal interview and he will talk about this.
Part of the reason why Hogan was successful was due to his backstage politics. Not allowing other wrestlers going over unless he felt it was necessary.
Honorable mentions: 1. Eddie Guerrero 2. Rey Mysterio 3. Steve Austin 4. Dustin Rhodes/ Goldust 5. Ron Simmons/ Faarooq 6. Chris Jericho 7. Chris (CENSORED)

They forgot Sean Waltman. In his first run in the WWF he got over as the ultimate underdog. Then he went to WCW where he got over as the 6th member of the nWo Syxx. And then he was welcomed home in the WWF when Triple H rebooted Degeneration X as X-Pac.
He was a nice change of pace for me as a kid watching WCW. He actually wrestled and was good and actually tried. Eventually hall & Nash phoned shit in, and Hogan has been phoning shit in since 89’ 🤣
Great video Andy. I think a lot of modern fans have this belief that there weren’t any wrestlers that were successful in WCW that they all had to go to WWF first. The truth of the matter is it was really true for both. There were guys that just couldn’t catch a break in WWF, but made it in WCW. And vice versa. a lot of it is timing. I see some people point to wrestlers like Steve Austin and Cactus Jack and because they’re only source of knowledge is WWE documentary use I’ve heard people talk about them like they were just glorified job guys that had theme music and WCW. No Steve Austin was never world champion in WCW, but he held every belt they had but the idea that if in late 1990 or early 1991 he would’ve been Stone Cold Steve Austin by 92 is a bit ridiculous. Some of it timing. Steve wasn’t ready to be stone cold in the first half of the 90s. If you’ve ever listened to his shooting interviews. He’s often talked about all the great wrestlers he learned from while he was in NWA/WCW. I can’t describe it to today’s fans that want AEW to be an equal to WWE, WCW was just a special place. I’m not saying everything was perfect all the time by any means.
How about the ladies huh? Women like Deborah, Tory Wilson, and Stacy Kiebler all were IMMENSELY POPULAR in both promotions!! Not always for the best um, reasons. But they were DEFINITELY popular!!
I kind of disagree that Hogan was responsible for WCW taking the lead in the Monday Night Wars. Hogan had nothing to do with the build-up with the Outsiders/NWO before the heel turn reveal at Bash at the Beach. Yes, Hogan turning heel was a big moment for the WCW that did help propel them but Hall/Nash I believe were more responsible for the direction that WCW took during that period. Previous to Hall/Nash coming in Hogan was helping run WCW into the ground by having them re-hash old opponents over and over and over again.
Sid Vicious is a 2 time WCW World Champion, but you said he was a 1 time WCW World Champion. It happened in WCW early 2000 via wacky booking, so I could see why you'd confuse it for just one run.
You know where to go from here: Wrestlers who succeeded in WWE/ECW/WCW… or the SUPER hard version… Wrestlers who succeeded in WWE/ECW/WCW/TNA… or the IMPOSSIBLY hard version… Wrestlers who succeeded in WWE/ECW/WCW/TNA/AEW…
Not to nit pick but calling Scott Hall the 3rd member when infact he was the first to show up and start everything, seems like a big fu to his legacy. Please remember the Monday night Wars started with one man showing up on Nitro, saying "You wanna WAR your gonna get one."
Hey yo that Rick Rude, 2 in 1 night, that ISH was special!!! That was when WWF & WCW hated each other, so neither one couldnt say anything at that time LMAO!!!
What is interesting is that half of these legends, at least in earlier points in their careers, were saddled with horrible gimmicks. Hall, Nash, and Sid especially.
Ric Flair may not have been in his physical prime still in the early 90s but wrestling isn’t football or basketball so your prime run can go five or 10 years past your physical prime run. Ric Flair in a 24 month. Captured the NWA world championship, the WCW, world championship, and twice captured the WWF heavyweight championship. That all happened in 1992 and 1993. And that’s back when all three of those belts still meant something.
Benoit was the only one of the Radicalz put in the main event immediately. Eddie was comedy upper-midcard, Malenko was midcard, and Saturn was lower midcard. Benoit was working with Triple H, The Rock, Stone Cold, Kane, Kurt Angle, Jericho, Big Show, and Taker.
Booker T only had 4 WCW title reigns in WCW, while his 5th reign came in WWE. Also, in WCW he was a 9-time tag team champ with Stevie Ray, while his 10th reign came in WWE with Test.
Isn’t it strange Scott hall didn’t have a world title run in both companies while hulk hogan and diesel had many world titles run …is it he rejected being a world champion or management didn’t see him world title worthy🤷??
So no mention of Eddie Guerrero Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho...? You don't have to like these guys personally but they had a huge impact on both companies
So... Nobody wants to point out the chapter cards say "Succeeded in WCW and WCW"? Also, nobody is going to argue that Jeff Jarrett is better than Booker T. That's just silly.
I’m on Sid Vicious right now, and it’s a good list. But I haven’t seen my fav (other than Scott Hall) and that’s Chris Jericho or Rey Mysterio. What gives? They’re legends
Dustin Rhodes maybe? Forget about his run near the end of WCW, his run in WCW before he left for WWF was very successful. He was 2x US Champ (when it was probably the 3rd most important title in the World), I think 3 time Tag Champ and a 6 Man Tag Champ. He was seen as one of the future stars of the company when morons (like Jim Herd) weren't in charge. He probably would have been multiple time WCW World Champ had he stayed. In WWF he was one of the biggest mid card stars as Goldust during his first run and his second and third runs in WWE were as if not more successful. He's a 3 time IC Champ, 3 time Tag Champ and 9 time Hardcore champ (holding it a few times during its early times when it actually meant something). While he never held the World Title in either company (again I think he would have in WCW if he never left), I would put him up there with Sid, Rude and the Road Warriors in terms of success between both companies.
Quick question for my history buffs: how come WWE counts Ric Flair’s NWA world heavyweight titles but don’t consider R-Truth’s or Nick Aldis’s? Aren’t they the same title by name?
Essentially, the original NWA title became the WCW title, and WWE owns the history of the WCW. So, the WWE recognizes WCW/NWA lineages, but not the TNA or Smashing Pumpkins versions of the NWA.
Austin was good in WCW, but he never was the world champion. Yeah he had the TV title, US title, and tag team titles with Pillman, but so did a lot of guys who went to WWE and were much better. Austin was a victim of bad booking in WCW everytime he looked like he was going to break out
How did you not include Jericho? 4 time cruiser weight champion and 1 time TV champion in WCW, and then held pretty much every title in WWE. And if you are going to include Sid, Big Show, Rick Rude, why not Mick Foley with all his titles in WWE and tag team gold in WCW? Pretty big omissions considering who did make your list.
