It was so difficult but I kept asking myself where the hell are you wearing this white rabbit fur jacket? Okay yes to a Christmas dinner or workplace party or dinner with my man or New year’s. But where else? My birthday is in May so nope I can’t wear it then. Cost per wear just isn’t worth it. I can do something better with my money like travelling OR saving or paying off debt. Girl yes, FN started my online shopping. I didn’t have a problem, but then during the lockdown I became a full fledged shopaholic. Clicking & daydreaming about outfits was too easy. When I was broke, I never used to spend. Now that I make way more money than ever before being a business owner, I just spend even more. Really been trying to change. Noticing the lack of discipline across all areas has been key. Working out & changing my eating habits has allowed me to be more disciplined in other areas like shopping. This is painfully relatable. I've definitely toned it down a lot in the last few years but I do find myself missing it so it's clearly something I need to keep working on mentally
My fave fashion videos from other creators have been: 1. Items that almost tempted you 2. An analysis of your declutters (so you don't keep buying the same things), 3. Restyling pieces you have to meet current trends (like a targeted 'shop my closet'). I've been trying a low-buy year and I have found that there is so much content out there for you to swap to on your social media. I think just like our own brains, we have to rewire the content we consume to make it easier to not be tempted. However, most importantly, we have to be gentle with ourselves. Post-covid, most businesses have made it easier and easier for us to spend money with very little friction/inconvenience.
I think you're spot on. Thank you for the content recommendation. I’ll definitely taking those ideas with me not only to create but intentionally seek out that type of content as well
Wow! I am so happy this popped up this morning. I have been encouraging myself daily to be disciplined and enjoy my overflow of blessings (clothing, perfume, and home decor). I started unsubscribing to emails and am now cutting up a credit card. The anxiety when the bill arrives is so real and embarrassing at times. Girlllll thankkkk youuuuu! The amount of money I spend is CRAZYYYYYY (to me) I don’t enjoy buying clothes or skincare anymore since I found my style and what works for acne prone skin.Since July, I put myself on a NO-BUY for makeup products until the next Sephora sale and that has helped me realize that I don’t even need more makeup! I have so much and it’s expired! But, I’ve replaced that habit with buying middle eastern fragrances as I’m new to perfumes. And sometimes, I go crazyyyy. I am definitely willing to go on this No-Buy journey with you especially as a Prayer and fasting topic! I will listen to the podcast you mentioned as well. I want to have a Kingdom mindset and I know I have to die to my flesh for that❤
I am so glad I came across your video. I found it very inspirational and i'm going to commit to no spend for the rest of the year. I have been out of control lately. I need to have more discipline.
Thank you for your honesty this was very relatable I’m just entering the workforce and I want a healthy relationship with money and trying to build generational wealth I feel like it’s super hard as a woman not shopping
I appreciate your honesty. The feeling is addicting. I spend , budget and then I feel ashamed. My husband I worked so hard to pay off debt and we have, but now my credit card is creeping up again. Planning on doing a low or no buy until the end of the year. Choosing being cute, fashionable, our whatever that “thing” is over my future- when you broke it down like that it was convicting. I’m an intentional shopper, but I need to reel it in too. I have what I need and can develop my style with what I have. Thank you again! Keep being real and sharing vulnerably 😊
Preaching to the choir!!! I had to do a 21 days fast of NO spending! (Excluding my bills) It worked even after the fast was over until I relapsed 😅 Also not being active on my social media helped tremendously! Thank you for sharing! ❤
Love this!! I’m a budget girlie so anything about saving and managing finances is up my alley. With a work life balance there is a saving spending balance too. You just have to find it. Best of luck in your journey 🎉
You can do it, it definitely gets easier. I had this realisation too just over a year ago and my life has changed completely. One thing I would say helped me was using the notes app on my phone to write down and put a link to what I was feeling like impulsively purchasing that I might have seen. Doing this satisfied the dopamine hit of ‘adding to cart and checking out’. I would also use it to write down the things I noticed whilst getting dressed that I needed in my wardrobe as I was missing alot of basic, connecting pieces which really helps with curating my wardrobe and style. After a while I found that I didn’t really want the item I had written down, I just wanted the feeling and rush of buying something. Now I’ve gotten to the point that I can wait months to buy something even if I do want it and it has made me more grateful of what I already own. Hope that helps.
I really appreciate your honesty. I listen to a lot of finance videos and feel like the folks either aren’t real or don’t have a spending problem and don’t seem to actually enjoy shopping. Im working on my addiction but will no longer beat myself up over it. I do save and would like to save more but like your mom I don’t have many hobbies and I happen to like shopping.
Ugh this makes me so sad because I relate to this so much. I got into a huge argument with my husband and sister because I would vent to them about my money concerns all the while being an inspiring TikToker. I thought they didn't understand me and literally tell me I was going to influence my way into debt rather than build a business and I didn't listen.
Hi, first timer here and I feel like I’m listening to myself out loud! Like I question what is wrong with me as I know I shouldn’t buy another thing but I’m always shopping. I just have to continue to work towards creating better money habits. Find the discipline.
I so appreciate this video and happy your video came across my feed! God has really put it on my heart to get my spending and over consumption in check. I too am doing a No Buy for this quarter and beyond…until I become debt free. I too started on October 1st. I just subscribed to follow you on this journey. Yes! I want to join you on this. I LOVE the idea of keeping a list you almost broke your No Buy for. Girl!
let's journey together girl. My goal is ultimately be debt free as well. Now absolutely no shopping until IDK but my goal after this no buy is to scale back tremendously.
I'm watching this video as I attempt to declutter my closet 😮. I have clothes with tags and clothes I forgot I even purchased. Thank you for reminding me that I need to put a pause on shopping 🛍. It's time to definitely shop my closet
I appreciate your honesty, it’s a tough battle to be in.
Stay strong
Thank you 🙏🏾
@@Blessedandoverdressed You deserve all of the nice things & much more!
Stay Strong ⛓️
I love how you are transparent about your situation and no fakes here in this channel. I do have a lot to work on and I completely understand were you are coming from. You are beautiful and you’re not alone hun.🙏🏾 and yes I would love to do a monthly check in and see how the process or progress is going.🙏🏾
Thank you beautiful
I'll pray for you! All the best deals come after Christmas anyway in January! Hope going through your closet and getting out of debt goes well 💕
Girlllll thankkkk youuuuu!
Thank you all for making me feel not so alone.Building better habits is not easy but worth it.
I can relate to this so much!! 😭 my mom is also the same way!!!
its so hard. but i think it possible to love fashion and be financially responsible
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing, the internet can have have you believe there’s magic money out there.
And there very well maybe but until its in my account I need to act like I have some sense
Preaching to the choir!!!
I had to do a 21 days fast of NO spending! (Excluding my bills)
It worked even after the fast was over until I relapsed 😅
Also not being active on my social media helped tremendously!
Thank you for sharing! ❤
Great great great video
I can relate on so many levels! Wow girl so glad I clicked this
I pray zoos will strengthen you to keep your convictions. Godliness’s with content is great gain
Love this!! I’m a budget girlie so anything about saving and managing finances is up my alley. With a work life balance there is a saving spending balance too. You just have to find it. Best of luck in your journey 🎉
thank you girl!
I got into makeup and I have bought so much !! Definitely have to get back on track!
I’m so happy you made this video and happy I found your channel. I definitely can relate. Thank you for sharing.

Also, I’m joining this fast with you! Just subscribed 😊
Let's do it sis
So I've actually started doing that and it's helped ALOT.
I can relate with you I lv getting stuff it's always like xmas but I end up with a lot of stupid stuff that I usually give most away😂😊
My man actually asked me what other hobbies i have but shopping. Maybe i need to find some low cost hobbies to fill the time.
😮 so relevant and on-time!!! I can definitely relate. Ill join you sis!
Let's do it girl
Ugh this makes me so sad because I relate to this so much. I got into a huge argument with my husband and sister because I would vent to them about my money concerns all the while being an inspiring TikToker. I thought they didn't understand me and literally tell me I was going to influence my way into debt rather than build a business and I didn't listen.
Yes balance content and staying financially responsible is SUCH a delicate balance
Hi, first timer here and I feel like I’m listening to myself out loud! Like I question what is wrong with me as I know I shouldn’t buy another thing but I’m always shopping. I just have to continue to work towards creating better money habits. Find the discipline.
Try the book girl it's been helping ALOT
Gratitude journal will definitely help you to be content.

thank you!
I NEEDED to watch this video!! Thank you
You are so welcome!
Ohhh my God! This is me right now 😂😂, I am really trying so hard, but it’s kinda hard
One thing parent should do is teach their children about money. Any money that you make you should have to pay a dollar for rent a dollar for food, etc. that way when you get older, you realize that you can’t just blow your money on anything I didn’t get taught about money and I didn’t teach my son about money only that it took a lot of effort and talent to make it, I was a hairstylist. I worked long hard hours. I’m 69 now and those days are over.
One thing I took away was to have open conversations as a family about all aspects of finances. It's so important
This was right on time! God knows! #NewSubscriber

Ok stumbling upon this video was NOT a coincidence. I need help. It’s so hard to admit how addicted I am to it. I’m doing this with you girl- subscribed! Through Him we can overcome anything 🤍
Yes we can!
I am going through this same thing of impulsive shopping! I am so tired of
The cycle I AM TIRED! I have more than enough of everything. Sometimes I wanna get rid of everything to purge . I am praying for strength and discipline
Pray and God will answer for sure. BUT the execution of discipline is on us.
Basically tired of being broke because that’s the road your heading down got to have a budget set shopping goals for a certain amount of money monthly a month and pay yourself first before shopping you will develop discipline
Hi 😮😊
