I really couldn’t tell you why, but LB is feeling so good in wilds. This is coming from someone who mains all the big swords EXCLUSIVELY. Never touched ranged ever.
As a hammer main whos never enjoyed ranged weapons the light bowgun was a suprising thrill, barely dodging moves while pepper spraying the monsters face has been so fun and the focus snipe is so fun. Ive been building up wounds and then sniping the monster down as it begins to run
I hated using the bowguns in 4U, World, and Rise. I'm loving it in Wilds and I'm a Greatsword main. Still probably going to use the Hunting Horn in my pocket, but it does feel amazing
And less "shoehorned" too. Instead of using one specific tacked on mechanic to create, it just happens naturally in a way that makes sense: keep hitting the same part.
I was a LBG main back in world/iceborne. The sliding reload was my favorite move and I was sad that it didn't make it in Rise. Glad to see it back in Wilds
It seems like between this and the bow, they are really encouraging people to have one of the ranged options as their second weapon. Even if they don't want to use them in the hunt, they seem to be really useful on the Seikret.
Dunno if this has been mentioned already but: - while its true that blast mine traps can only be placed one at a time due to only have one stock in its guage, you CAN have more than one of your own mines actively on the field. If the previous one hasnt reached its detonation or time limit yet it will persist on the field alongside the new one. I havent tested the max in this regard though - you can actually initiate a burst fire step (rather than only using it after firing) by aiming, firing and dodging in a direction at the same time (on ps5 thats L2+X+R2+directional input). Afaik this can be chained until you are forced to do a dodge reload or run out of RF energy
Didn't realize it when I was messing around with LBG in the beta, but I see here that the ammo drum has rotation on the drum and clip as you fire, thats really good attention to detail!
Light Bowgun is so much fun to play, especially on mouse and keyboard. But I always felt like it was a bit too... simple? The addition of the new moves and the meter management adds some great new involving play elements that I'm really looking forward to.
LBG in wilds are probably the most intuitive among all versions of MH im Hammer main and never really bothered using range weapon aside from several attempts with bow which at end, it didnt go well with me this weapon, i only using just because i was playing with my friend and somehow i didnt like the feel of hammer yet so i decided to use LBG just as support and oh boy, it was unexpectedly intuitive and fun to use i only needed few practice "feel" the weapon i initially thought LBG as a support but man, i play this weapon hyper aggressive and it just so fun
I noticed that the LBg doesn't seem to generate wounds as much as the HBG. The ammo type that seemed to wound best was the elemental type rounds if they are effective to the monster. For example thunder rounds on balahara and chatacabra. It felt like the LBg doesn't wound as good as the HBG using the same ammo type despite hitting more times. I'm wondering if this will change in the final game.
THE AMMO CHANCES make me so happy. Finally they made the basic ammor work like I always thought het should, infinite but only level per gun. Gonna be a gunner even more in wilds. Both heavy and light bowgun seem like they have been improved a lot.
Wow thank you for showcasing the mobility options and animations of LBG. I didn’t know the spread ammo had a different dodge type too that’s Awesome!Hopefully more people add the new burst step into their strategies. Been seeing so much casual walking LBG users that make the weapon look like the most boring weapon of the 14 lol. Can’t wait for the Full Release of the game!
For the special kickback while burst/chaser shot firing spread ammo I think that's tied to the recoil since it's noticably higher than the other ammo types in the beta. Tbh I would love to have options for spread or pierce that fire with lower recoil like normal does here
You can do a special extra fast reload after a RAPID chaser shot by pressing reload right after it finishes - you stay crouched in the same spot. Doesn’t work with regular chaser shots.
Chaser shot also recovers more guage. You can use it during rapid fire mode too. I didn't really like chaser and burst shot, i feel like they kinda break the flow. Rapid fire more is really fun with normal ammo but i don't like the rest as i said.
Wirebug moves for the LBG were largely pretty meh. Dropping wyvernblast mines directly on the monster’s head is fun and easy mount damage, and the counter had a generous invincibility window. That’s about it.
Also worth noting that when on the Seikret, if your LBG is drawn you can still jump and follow that with a mid air shot or burst depending on the ammo type.
@Vyo1983 you have to be moving but not sprinting, then hit jump aim and fire in that order to trigger it, you get nice airtime if you do it with rapid fire shots too
The most fun I've had with a bowgun was Valor HBG in GU and I've been struggling to get back into them since. Wilds LBG might come close to that level of fun, fingers crossed
i'm glad LBG got the glow up it did but ngl I also miss the melee attack. I think it'd be hilarious if they brought it back as a move you can still do if you try to use wyvernblast again before it's charged. That way it'd even be the same input as before!
I like the change to support ammo since self buffing was not something you could do before. But I am also wondering if we could still buff people if we shoot them directly like in world or rise, shooting it at their feet on demand while a fight is going on could be more tedious to aim and predict than just shooting them directly if players want a fast heal. Other thoughts: - no more melee for lbg :( - no more separate ammo of different levels of the same ammo type. Which was kind of fun in world or rise for example, using all of spread 3 then spread 2 and then spread 1. But this new change also makes ammo management less intimidating for first time players of lbg. - with energy mode I find that you could fire one ammo type and burst step with a different ammo given that you switch fast enough just like how you could with evade reload in world. So a common combo I'd use was fire normal 2 which had low recoil + can move around -> spread 1 burst step -> spread 1 chaser shot.
I spent most my time on my lance but immediately felt they wanted you to sit way too close to the monster with the LBG. Like you said though, maybe it was just the starter gun.
This is my first time using any ranged weapon and the LBG was the one that felt the nicest I am still sad about the IG but thanks to these videos and the Beta I can confidently say I am starting Wild’s with SnS and LBG also I LOVE the Swap mechanic because now I can join a hunt and see what is needed on the fly do they need someone at range? Do they have ranged covered? As Birb travels to the target I can swap to the weapon in need
Don’t lose faith in glaive. I was unsure of it as a glaive main myself but once you stop trying to use it like world glaive and really understand it’s new fighting style it feels absolutely amazing to use. Aerial combat feels so much more fluid and chains into ground combos so naturally, and the kinsect really feels more like an extension of your weapon instead of a finicky addition to it
There's another diference from the wyvernblast mine. Now the mine explode when is either the hunter OR the monster that attack it. So now it can be setup at spot where the monster will hit, dodge and see the monster trigger the explosion.
What do you mean? Crafting isn’t going anywhere. If you mean the ammo it’s only normal pierce and spread that are infinite, all your other ammo is still crafted
Are bowgun mods even in the game anymore? It feels like they've taken all the mods from World and just made them part of the weapon, like hbg's shield and lbg's wyvernblast counter
Dosha has really really small beady eyes on the sides of his face, chatacabra also has small eyes near to top of his head like a crocodile. Balahara’s are kind of hard to see if you don’t know what you’re looking for, but he actually has a ton of little blue eyes lining his gums, like a clam
I really couldn’t tell you why, but LB is feeling so good in wilds. This is coming from someone who mains all the big swords EXCLUSIVELY. Never touched ranged ever.
So far I like the hbg more(feels like an Lmg in shooters lol) but maybe I’m missing something
As a hammer main whos never enjoyed ranged weapons the light bowgun was a suprising thrill, barely dodging moves while pepper spraying the monsters face has been so fun and the focus snipe is so fun. Ive been building up wounds and then sniping the monster down as it begins to run
I couldn’t stand light bowgun for the longest time and now I’m genuinely considering using it at my secondary! It got such a glow up
I hated using the bowguns in 4U, World, and Rise. I'm loving it in Wilds and I'm a Greatsword main. Still probably going to use the Hunting Horn in my pocket, but it does feel amazing
Also u can just ride ur pet and shoot the whole time…
I like how the monster wound mechanic is pretty much a repurposed combination of both tenderize and afflicted spots
And less "shoehorned" too. Instead of using one specific tacked on mechanic to create, it just happens naturally in a way that makes sense: keep hitting the same part.

As one of the 10 players who mains LBG, I approve of the changes it’s getting in Wilds.
Didn't realize it when I was messing around with LBG in the beta, but I see here that the ammo drum has rotation on the drum and clip as you fire, thats really good attention to detail!
As a lifelong blademaster...the ranged options in Wilds have got me hooked. The bow and LBG especially are so much fun.
Light Bowgun is so much fun to play, especially on mouse and keyboard. But I always felt like it was a bit too... simple? The addition of the new moves and the meter management adds some great new involving play elements that I'm really looking forward to.
Yes omg it’s now definitely worthy and respected, LBG is a better weapon then the bow now
Once you get access to recoil down in the main game it's gonna slaughter with full auto spread.
LBG in wilds are probably the most intuitive among all versions of MH
im Hammer main and never really bothered using range weapon aside from several attempts with bow which at end, it didnt go well with me
this weapon, i only using just because i was playing with my friend and somehow i didnt like the feel of hammer yet so i decided to use LBG just as support

iv been using the lightbow gun since the original monster hunter looks like its not stopping any time soon it was great to play with on the beta
I noticed that the LBg doesn't seem to generate wounds as much as the HBG. The ammo type that seemed to wound best was the elemental type rounds if they are effective to the monster. I actually had trouble consistantly burst stepping for some reason. Half the time i would do a normal side step
If you are using a controller, I found that holding down the fire button makes it happen far easier
THE AMMO CHANCES make me so happy. Finally they made the basic ammor work like I always thought het should, infinite but only level per gun. Gonna be a gunner even more in wilds. Both heavy and light bowgun seem like they have been improved a lot.

i only used chaser shot on the last shot of the magazine, breaks the flow least.
I'm a light bowgun main and I am loving the new features. Never did get the hang of the wirebug stuff in Rise; these make so much more sense to me
Wirebug moves for the LBG were largely pretty meh.
How did you do that? The only thing after jumping of mounted was the stupid melee jump attack.

Light Bowgun looks really unleashed, this time.
The most fun I've had with a bowgun was Valor HBG in GU and I've been struggling to get back into them since. Wilds LBG might come close to that level of fun, fingers crossed
The codex of astartes approves this action
Better varied skills this time to distinct between HBG. Honestly a good change
No one mentioning they removed the melee attack from the LBG? Looks like 80% of the comments are people trying it for the first time in Wilds anywho
I miss it tbh. Smacking a monster to KO was too funny.
@@MansMan42069 I use that to detonate wyvern blast, god I miss it already.
@@ZeeCH_Music same
but at least we can still do it jumping off seikret or ledges

Lbg keeps its op damage potential but has it tied to a bar you have to fill, moves you have to chain and follow up shots that root you
Nice
Best version of LBG in a long time. I hope they dont tweak it too much from beta to release. This is coming from a Swax and CB main
I'm definitely going to want a mod to increase the explosion effects because they seem pretty small and weak.
I spent most my time on my lance but immediately felt they wanted you to sit way too close to the monster with the LBG. Like you said though, maybe it was just the starter gun.
Heavy bow gun pleaseeeeee❤

@@Ashamranthat’s the problem I am trying to use it like Rise IG aka ALL THE AIR movement and extended ground combat
Shrapnel Ammo from Rise/Sunbreak?
I just hope there is a skill to reduce the area of the spread ammo to make it more concentrated
but area spread is the purpose of spread ammo.
Hopefully Wilds will have the Shrapnel ammo, which is probably more of what you would prefer.
With the wound system, gun users are going to get a lot of love from the other hunters
So LBG has a daka daka mode?
Does light bowgun not have an Offset attack, clash, or perfect dodge at all? I know HBG can clash with its shield.
Hbg has guard clash and offset. Lbg has no defensive moves, but its hyper mobility makes up for it.
Where Unga Bunga! Caveman Angry and inpatient! jk jk, love these videos.
MHWilds Light Bowgun in one word: VANQUISH
*DRIVE-BY!*
Did they remove shrapnel ammo?
If you mean spread ammo, the shotgun type, its still there. You can see it in the video.
The only thing makes me sad is no melee for it
I hope the ammo economy is more accommodating and less of a chore.
It absolutely will be. The fact that normal pierce and spread are infinite now makes such a big difference, it’s so much more convenient
Dragon Ammo farming was really awful in World. I hope there will be a change this time.
There's another diference from the wyvernblast mine. Now the mine explode when is either the hunter OR the monster that attack it. So now it can be setup at spot where the monster will hit, dodge and see the monster trigger the explosion.
That's always been the case, actually
Always been the case indeed.
I am gonna miss the crafting. Especially on the fly with stuff you pick up from the world.
What do you mean? Crafting isn’t going anywhere. If you mean the ammo it’s only normal pierce and spread that are infinite, all your other ammo is still crafted
@@Ashamran Thats good to know.
Huh it really is a return of Valor LBG
Are bowgun mods even in the game anymore? It feels like they've taken all the mods from World and just made them part of the weapon, like hbg's shield and lbg's wyvernblast counter
You will still be able to mod the bowguns, you just couldnt do it in the beta. But for the beginner guns, you saw 2 open mod slots for the guns.
Unrelated to this but doshaguma, chatacbra, bulhara, are they all blind?
Iam not seeing any eyes on their faces...
Dosha has really really small beady eyes on the sides of his face, chatacabra also has small eyes near to top of his head like a crocodile. Balahara’s are kind of hard to see if you don’t know what you’re looking for, but he actually has a ton of little blue eyes lining his gums, like a clam
plz god no dps check in this game like they did with iceborne.
Is it me or the critical distance is awful?
They reduced the range of the lbg and increased of for hbg to make more of a difference.
Guess hammer gets no love with a new guide? I'll keep waiting I guess
They still got half the weapons to do, which ofc are all weapons I like.
@@GoingRampant92pretty sure only hammer and HBG are left everything else is already on the channel?
