Outstanding Tips today, Jim!!! I have done many, many slide shows, but not in Power Director, but in PowerPoint... I have just watched this tutorial and one other that just came out today about adding PowerPoint slides into PowerDirector, so now I can create using both apps if need be... Thank you so much, Jim!
Good Video once again! This new update is something huh..I also noticed the easy way to fade in and fade out doesn't work anymore on mine. I finally was able to retrieve my preset characters although none of the fonts saved with them. The tech team said they are having the same issue. You cannot save any fonts when making a new preset character. Hopefully soon the bugs will all be fixed.
UI changes like the ones many users want to see restored can't happen overnight. But I'm hopeful in the next 30-60 days we'll begin to see some of the functionality back. There are a handful of fast edit features like the ones you mention that are mentioned often. --Jim
On the old version the crop used to snap to the correct size. Now we have to manually adjust the size. What were they thinking? This now means 2 drag and clicks that are a waste of time. In general this new update has been a disaster for workflow.
They just restored changing opacity from the timeline. I'll be looking for other things that might be restored in the days ahead with the 11/16/23 update. --Jim
Hey Jim, as I mentioned in previous comments over the years (since 2019) I learned a lot from watching your tutorials. I have a question regarding the new version of PD 365 ! I am a drone pilot and videographer. ( DJI Drones) I've been using PD 365 from the beginning to produce my videos ( 29 videos on RUclips ) . There are short 2.5 - 4 minutes with tasteful music, I think ... I don't colorgrade much or at all. I don't need to, I film in AUTO MODE and edit with PD. I have a problem with the new version. In the old version to adjust the video, all I needed to do was click on EDIT, and on the left side the panel would have 5-6 features to choose from. I only needed 2 of them to make my videos perfect. The first one is "COLOR ENHANCEMENT" and the second is "EDGE ENHANCEMENT" !!! I would click once on both and my video was finished! In the new version of PD 365, the EDGE ENHANCEMENT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE !!! Can you please find out if is hidden somewhere in the software or what is the option to achieve the exact same thing. That was just a simple click and was perfect (no adjustment needed) . I know this is a long reply and not at all related to this tutorial . Thank you . Maybe you can explain in future videos about some of the new features and changes to the PD 365 ! Thank You @Romeoview323
It's fun to hear how you are using PowerDirector as a drone pilot. I have a drone as well. There have been many comments from users about this new release of PowerDirector. It's been more negative than I can ever remember. I've posted a number myself and even found some bugs that Cyberlink has acknowledged. The lack of Edge Enhancement has been one of the top 10 issues (by my estimate) in this user feedback. I am hopeful that Cyberlink will come up with a number of updates that restore these tools that editors have become dependent on. Unfortunately, the production time for changes in a program this complex could well be 2-3 months. They are first trying to iron out any problems with the program being unstable or crashing before they turn their attention to the kind of issues we raise that fall under UI (User Interface). I don't have any connections to Cyberlink, but from what I read on the forum, they will take a significant hit to their market share if they don't restore some of these time-saving features. I don't think they can afford to brush it off. So even though there may not be a workaround, I'm practicing patience and encourage other to do the same. In the meantime I will (1) show users where to find some of the tools that have moved or changed in the new interface and (2) let users know about any meaningful updates as they are released. Jim
@@SharperTurtle Thank you for your prompt response like always. I did call CYBERLINK yesterday in Germany (only customer support) and I was told they would get back to me by Email. In the beginning he did not know what I was talking about and that he will have to go back to the old version and see that EDGE feature… Also the music track in the time line is way to thin… very hard to fade in or out with the cursor. I’m sure there are other things that I have not discovered yet. They have to bring back Edge Enhancement , or they will have to give me my money back…my subscription runs until 2025 ….They should also warn users of these changes and at least point to alternatives. Please if you find out more about these changes let us know . Thank you ! They should build you a statue… or your picture should be on the software…nobody has better tutorials on this editing software. Period.
Thank you for your affirmation. I am privileged to be able to assist the user community in making the most of PowerDirector. We will make it through this version and beyond together. Many users have expressed your displeasure at the omissions in the new release, which is why I'm hopeful that we will see some updates in the future. --Jim
Yes you can. You can crop one image like the tutorial shows and then click on it and copy the keyframe attributes; then click on the other images together in the timeline and choose the paste keyframe attributes. It will crop the other images exactly the same way the first one was. --Jim

Is it possible to re-size multiples images at the same time, or copy and paste the re-size function? thanks
Yes you can. You can crop one image like the tutorial shows and then click on it and copy the keyframe attributes; then click on the other images together in the timeline and choose the paste keyframe attributes. It will crop the other images exactly the same way the first one was. --Jim
