Glad the algorithm put you on my feed. Great recommendations and I'd like to add all the Stalker games as well as the anomaly stand-alone mod to this. More fps games I'd recommend are Gunfire Reborn, Battlebit remastered, Shadow Warrior 2, Operation Flash Point: Dragon Rising, and Serious Sam series. Good video and straight to the point, I would make another because of the summer sale and show more gameplay/features of the titles. Best of luck ❤

holy crap this video is incredibly awesome. It wandered into my recommended, but I'm glad it did. I was already a "play older games" guy rather than a skin guy, but I might spread this video around for evangelization purposes.
I'll throw in one more recommendation: Day of Defeat is an old Valve game that can cost under a dollar when it's on sale. It's a multiplayer World War 2 PVP FPS. It feels like a middleground between Call of Duty and Counter Strike in all the right ways; it has sprinting and stamina to speed up the pace of movement and even gameplay without the need to put away the firearm, and it has the ability for players to go prone in order to brace their weapon and reduce their exposure to the enemy at the cost of mobility and the time it takes to go prone, yet there are no ironsights (so your movement controls your accuracy rather than the other way around) and the gameplay is focused primarily around objectives that you need to capture around the map. I've been playing on a server where human players team up on one team against bots and it feels like a very fun "coop" experience even though the game was designed with pvp in mind. Most people I see very naturally enact squad tactics as they approach chokepoints without too much need for someone to boss people around or overtly gatekeep the gameplay just because the stakes are so high when most enemies are carrying a bolt-action rifle that can one-shot you.

Thank you for your kind words and the evangelization effort! I hope I can find the time to try Day of Defeat!

Ive played all of these, lol. Good video, though. My additional recommendation would be blood fresh supply. It’s a classic FPS updated for modern systems. Blood has an endearingly evil main character, gothic setting, zombies, gargoyles, ghouls, the works. Not to mention the satisfying double barrel blasting, dynamite chucking action, and great levels.

Blood is so much fun and Caleb is an utter joy to play as, be it his maniacal laughter after hurling dynamite successfully, or his surprised reaction to his own reflection, or my personal favourite, "AH! IT BURNS! AH! AH!".
Truly, a work of violent art.

Solid list, but no Unreal Tournament '99 or '04? Either one, you'll get an absolute deluge of maps and gamemodes to play with (that's not even counting the massive modding scene) and some of the best AI opponents ever made even to this day. It's low-spec and abandonware too, so it's super accessible.

1- Not a Counter-Strike fan, sorry. Sue me. (MIGHT check Condition Zero as it has Offline contents)
    2- I didn't bought WaW but CoD 1.
I'm not a fan of "Spunkalgwewe Shooters" or close, primarily health regen & spam checkpoints combined, it removes any challenge and fun.
CoD 1 had limited health and looked promising (and it was worth it!).
3- I actually got Half-Life for free when it was its 25th(?) anniversary (and/or Valve?) (didn't try yet).
4- I don't remember how I got LFD2 in my Library, but I got it, and it's cool.
5- I have the first game, and thanks to *(seriously YT?)* Hunt it became one of my favorites games!
    My Honorable Mention:
-Any Brothers In Arms (Tactical WWll Shooter -Bundle available!)
-GUN (Red Redemption before it was cool)
-Call of Duty 1 (when *Call of Duty* used to live to its name... and really was more like Medal of Honor)

They wouldn't be on my list because Black Ops 3 is full of microtransactions and I've never played any of the Wolfenstein series. However, I do like Black Ops 3 and I've heard great things about Wolfenstein!

  • @NebLleb

I'd like to throw in a few more recommendations.
For me, you can't have World at War without Call of Duty 4, its brother game from the prior year. Although it lacks the brutality of WaW, 4's variety, modern setting and unique twists on the established formula of the series from around that time still make it a must own. And believe it or not, both multiplayer components are still active through COD4X and Plutonium.
Speaking of Military Shooters, how about Medal of Honor? This is the series that cemented the World War II side of the subgenre, and the series still holds up. Emulation capable PCs and retro console owners should definitely look into the original game and Underground, but PC gamers should go for Allied Assault and Airborne, both of which are timeless fun. I'll also admit that Medal of Honor 2010, which changed the setting to 2000s Afghanistan and adapted the events at Roberts Ridge, isn't that bad either and worth a look.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is the best Wolf game, and is still playable with the source port IORTCW and the fanmade mod RealRTCW. Despite terrible stealth levels, it's a blast from start to finish with wicked enemy variety, intense gunplay and incredible graphics for the time.
For Uber-Violence, the Turok trilogy cannot be beat, with Night Dive's remasters being the best way to play them and Turok 2 being one of the best sequels in videogame history. You've never lived until you've burrowed someone's cranium out with a Cerebral Bore, is what I'm trying to say.
Last, but not least, we have a much darker recommendation: the F.E.A.R. series. Before WB Games took over the IP, gave it to a different studio and ruined it, these games were Monolith's magnum opus, a series built on the high concept foundation of taking a J-Horror film and putting it into a high-octane shooter. And it is disturbingly, yet satisfyingly brilliant; the core action gameplay is inspired by Jon Woo films and tons of fun, and the horror side is effectively eerie and scary with some truly memorable frightening setpieces, with the highlights of the original Pre-3 and Online games for me being F.E.A.R., Extraction Point, and F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (though Perseus Mandate does have its moments).

I'd recommend COD MW/MW2(Classic ones) over COD WAW on the performance front because man, WAW can get shitty to run at times. Mostly the Pacific Front missions including and after "Burn 'em out". I'd guess it's mostly due to the smoke grenades and the flamethrower, which aren't present on the Eastern front missions.
Note that I'm talking from personal experience, so yours may vary

      @boofiniti  16 дней назад +1

Any cod BO2 and earlier deserves a spot on the list, but I could only pick one from the series. So I went with an underrated one that less people have played and so they can get into zombies easier with the simple maps/mechanics. Love BO1 though!
