It finally clicked for me. Thank you! Exercise at minute 10:50 is when I went OH!!! 💡
I knew when I’d do a sidepass over a pole that I’d start by asking at ribs and then often have to move my leg back to keep the hip caught up and keep us straight.
I had trainers tell me to push a horse up into the lead change. But I often just got more hip to the inside or speed I didn’t want. I was pushing at the wrong place!! I was pushing at leg position 3 with my leg too far back!
TodayI used my outside leg at the ribs in position 2 and felt him get straight and then the hip ended up to the other side and sure enough when I released he changed! No extra speed and it felt effortless for my horse. Finally I understand!! My horse thanks you ❤🎉

Appreciate the tips! Very well done. BUT, even more informational would be to have you do it on a young horse that doesn't know how to do it. Let us see the mistakes/corrections, all of the work. Might be a long video, but your editors are great and make it work. Thanks

Thanks for interesting exercises, I'm definitely doing something wrong because my mare goes from canter to trot in the middle and only then changes legs :)

What do these skills do and why do we need them?? They are like entertainment or they help some how in everyday life with a horse, why me and my horse must have these skills or we must not? Please advise. Thanks.
