You completely missed the back thing being about the back burner , not w+m1 W+m1 just means walking forward (W) and just holding your mouse (M1) to just keep burning people with your flamethrower constantly It can fire constantly for as long as you want as long as you have ammo
to be fair the backburner looks stupidly similar to stock. especially when theres a pyro running at you and flames are covering the only spot that lets you distinguish the two lol
2:15 W+M1 is literally just walking forward towards the enemy and spraying them with fire which requires you to only hold W and M1 as the name states. W+M1ing doesnt give you extra damage from behind. that's a feature exclusive to the backburner flamethrower. 3:54 the 4th one is called the manmelter. it fires a single projectile that sets the target on fire just like any other flare gun but you can also press M2 to extunguish a burning teammate and doing so will turn your next shot into a critical one (you can also store multiple crit shots at once) anyways, one more class to go! (for now at least)
You can have this when you pry it from my cold dead hands... and even then, good luck! Because I will have it glued to my cold dead hands. - Soldier TF2
The weapon you thought it was a raygun. Its called: The Mann Melter. The weapon is one of the worst secondarys for pyro. It shoots like a laser that does fire damage with the left click. And the right click it can stop burning players from burning. But it can be pared for the phlog so you can atleast stop burning teammates. Also its like a airblast but it doesn't shove enemy players.
@@formattedorctheres a few other weapons in the game with a similar style, and they're actually based on real props made by a specific prop designer studio. look up "weta workshop dr grordbort". they're all super rare and expensive collectors pieces now
@@formattedorc it also gets crits whenever you stop a team mate from burning It's not actually bad , just , very situational Only works when there is like ,either a very overconfident but bad pyro on the enemy team or a scorch shot spammer
The airblast also can’t reflect projectiles. It just sucks up flames. But it works kinda well. But it requires an enemy pyro and team mates who will go to a pyro to get extinguished. It’s meh but kinda good with Dragon’s Fury
Since you've been playing a lot of pyro, a little-understood mechanic of how much damage the flamethrower puts out: damage ramps up to 3x if you're right up against the enemy vs. at max range, and it stacks with an additional ramp up to 3x if your flames maintain contact with the same target for a full second. So if you were right up against the same target for a full second or longer you'd do 9x as much damage than if you just touch them with the far edge of your flames. That means W+M1 can actually be very effective if you're accurately closing in on a single target.
W+M1 refers to the key inputs for the player. For a long time basic pyro gameplay boiled down to simply pressing W and holding down the mouse button to shoot. "W+M1" is actually intended to be a slight against the player as if to suggest in order to be effective at Pyro you don't even have to try and can just walk forward spamming your primary and get kills. A lot of that stems from the frustration of how fast Pyro can kill you, combined with the ambush-style the class is forced to play given its limited range. The term is really just one of those things brought about by people who are upset they lost in a video game and need to diminish the other player because of it. It is true that Pyro has a lot more going on than simply burning people to death up close. With his reflecting airblast he can protect engineer buildings, he can actually push people who are under an uber charge away or off a cliff to kill them. He can extinguish friendly players who are burning from enemy pyro flames, while also being a serious threat as a front line. Most new players of course will default to the simple walk forward, try to burn people to death and will have success, but the skill gap between a pyro that just W+M1's and a truly skilled pyro is insane, just like Pyro. The very retro sci-fi looking gun actually comes as part of the pairing with the Phlog, the flamethrower that can give guaranteed crits but has no airblast. There was an update in game that saw new weapons for several classes, namely Soldier, Engineer, and Pyro along with a comic explaining how they came about these new weapons by discovering them on an alien spaceship that had crashed in the desert. With the Phlogistonator not having the ability to airblast Pyro loses the ability to put out his burning teammates when he has it equipped. The Manmelter was meant to solve this issue and put a bit of a spin on the secondary weapon's function. When you have the Manmelter equipped, if a teammate is burning you can walk up to them and hold mouse two, it will suck the flames off of the burning target and store them inside of itself generating a guaranteed critical hit. Pyro can stock up on multiple crits with the weapon in this way, but, due to its difficulty to aim, and the overall lack of damage even with guaranteed crits, it is typically not used, even with its Phlog counterpart as almost everything else is just a better option. Sometimes the enemy team won't even have a Pyro, and there are many ways to extinguish fire that players can use. Sniper and scout both have liquid based secondaries that they can throw on burning allies to put them out. Medic's healing beam will put people out more quickly than if they weren't being healed. Jumping into water on the map, or, simply picking up a health pack will put people out, including Heavie's sandvitch if one is kind enough to drop it for someone, so even if you have the Manmelter equipped to store up crits and try to wreck people, the odds of actually putting people out reliably at any given moment is small. Unless you stalk the enemy team's pyro around the map and put people out as they fight you won't be doing much with it. It's one of the weapons that goes into the category of cool idea and concept, but just not very practical in application. Of course there is a whole type of player in the community who love to utilize bad weapons in ways that make them either more effective or super annoying. No doubt if you look around you'll find a montage of someone doing stupid silly nonsense with one of TF2's "broken" weapons.
Id assume you may have heard this one. Maybe save it for later. But just incase, recently a massive tf2 horror movie was released. Its over an hour long, i think close to an hour and a half. And it a genuine masterpiece. Its called “Emesis Blue” i would just say to wait on it because of its length

Yes, good ole W+M1. Nothing you can do about it. Nope. Too bad there isn’t another with a similar m1 m2 combo style. You know lay a trap, run away, fire your primary from across the map, pop down to Starbucks for your skinny soy decaf latte, press m2 and half the team is dead. Nope no one like that. W+M1 is quite literally the PC inputs of the W key and the left mouse button
Nice! Thanks for telling me!
W is the "walk forward" key
M1 is Mouse 1 (left click)
Hold both with any flamethrower and you're Pyro-ing
