Today we talk about content farms and why content farms are getting out of hand. Content farms have been a problem since 2018 during the Elsa gate era. Content farms were getting promoted on RUclips kids and some of these content farms had disturbing content not meant for kids.

As a victim of Elsagate, I can confirm I have brainrot.
Unfortunately I used to watch the marble races, but it was not the ones featured in the video. The marble races were from toy racing _(it’s now premier marble racing)_

My question is…why is it so adult? A majority of this bull crap is way too adult to be marketing to 5-7 year olds. It’s not like when kids shows have the occasional adult reference to make you parents chortle a little, it’s “let’s have provocative art and nudity on our channel”
I've heard it's to desensitized kids to adult content at such a young age and I've heard pedos take advantage of that so their victims don't realize how inappropriate the pedo is acting. also profits porn industry.
Because they know little kids will click on the thumbnail, either because they see their favorite characters or they see a provocative image and think "ooooo me likey," and they exploit that "curious" mind some kids have...

it’s possibly shock value. they use it to get attention and curiosity to kids to lure them into sexual or gory content. I mean kids are always curious and wonders what happens in the video so they would click on it.

There was a Lankybox plushie at my local thrift store today. I was torn between joy because a kid abandoned collecting Lankybox, but also disgusted by the plushie being displayed alongside the much better Beanie Baby 2.0 and Build-A-Bears.
It could have also been liquidated stock from a Wal-Mart or Target.

The amount of devastation TADC suffers from content farms is sad. This is because that stuff is well made and made with passion for it. So it’s just sad that it’s seen in such a negative light because of the audience it caught.

Propably the most undeserved target for content farm exploitation. Its sad😢
If I remember correctly, the second episode of TADC was made to combat the content farms by making as many references to sexual topics as possible.

poor Gooseworx had her series she poured her heart and soul (Digital Circus) into be exploited by content forms bc of its colorful characters and world. now people hate it because of the content farms. sad really. the series isnt even for children. it has more of a teen demographic.

We had open school days at university for young kids , and we had a panel about internet and what we like in it. And .... we saw a lot of 5-6 years old kids scribbling Digital Circus characters.... I saw other 6 years old kid with a Pomni plushie too. It's scary how 5-6 years old kids are also exposed to trends instead of focusing on stuff that are targeted at them.

9:40 I can explain, there's 2 types of "skibidi toilet"
1. A show a about 3 races (cameramen, speakerman, tvman) battling the toilet army (being a skibidi toilet is kinda like a zombie virus, but you get infected by their singing which gives you brainrot), each race has a titan and special units. The premise of the series is to turn something very stupid into a series with actual plot. The creator works very hard on it and you can see that he's doing it for passion and not only for money.
And the second type of "skibidi toilet" are the brainrotted children that say skibidi skibidi all the time and don't even know what the actual series is, the content farms ext.

That’s 2 different universes. Kids just think differently because they can’t use critical reasoning and logic, so they end up being blunt and upfront about their weirdness, but making weird content for kids is just raising a lot of red flags.

I still remembered watching Ryan’s World back in the day when it was called Ryan’s Toy Review. The videos were fun and simple, and I loved them. Nowadays they’ve blown up a lot…and not in the best way

Actual Creators have jump through hoops and Neo Dodge just to MAYBE not get demonetized while Content Farms that literally bring smutty fanfic of children's characters to life (and Family Channels!) just rake it in without any problems. It's unfair and dangerous. Kids who watch Content Farms be seeing the WILDEST things if it's not just Brainrot and it does a Lot of Damage. I also blame the parents. I used to be an animator for LankyBox about 2 years ago, working on some of their shorts with their own characters. I went completely uncredited for any of the work I did. I was let go out of nowhere completely unceremoniously and without any actual notice. (Work was done through a Discord channel that I was booted out of without ever being told).

As a 12 year old, no. I don't understand the hype of skibidi toilet, these stupid marble runs and yeah, basically brainrot and tiktok trends in general. Let me tell you now, the kids in my class are all "skibidi fanum tax ohio" and crap like that, which leaves me and the teachers confused. please tell me i am not the only one. I think I might need therapy, they say it 24/7. i can legit feel my brain sizzling as i type this.
Don’t worry, I’m the same as you. Almost all my class say ‘what the skibidi sigma ohio fantum tax’ or whatever the hell that’s spelled (god that was so cringe to say). I’m very glad my parents didn’t install social media like Tik Tok and Snapchat when I was little.

RUclips needs to actually look into this kind of stuff. They just take one look at the thumbnail and let it slide without even watching the full video. I remember this one guy made a video about diecast cars and had swearing in his video. But all of the sudden youtube just marketed for kids. Hope they can fix this.

9:45 while technically skibidi toilet (my brain lost 50% of braincells just saying those 2 words, i will call it "toilet vid" from now) DOES have a "story", the truth is that nearly anything can be a story. All you need are events and then you can start calling it a story. I haven't watched skibi- toilet vid, but from all the mini clips i see in videos that talk about brain rot, there is action. and there is fight. and there is conflict. and conflict is drama. and drama is a key part of being a story. And the word "story" is used very loosely, especially when talking about 'toilet vid', the word "lore" would fit more for 'toilet vid' since literally ANYTHING can have lore. While one rock may have "it existed" lore, another rock could also have "the rock was exploded from the dinosaur-hitting meteorite after a mass explosion, causing the rock having to undergo multiple heat waves and cold waves, yet through all the suffering, it survived, and then when humans came about-" yeah you probably get the point.
tl;dr: 98% of things can be a story, but skibidi toilet is more "lore" then "story"

You're not a hater. I have to agree with you. I like long form. I am not a huge fan off shorts. The reason it I always work with my hands and I don't want to go back and forth with what I am doing to my phone. I also like longer stories or longer explanations on something.
5:59 i did the math (at minimum) if all videos were 1 minute long and you watched all videos nonstop starting today its gonna be about October 2025 when you finish or about 460 days. now lets say you watch all their current videos nonstop (but only after 2020) because their videos are like 1-3 hours long. so at minute 1 hour per each video (at minimum) (which is about 8k videos since 2020) itll be about 2080. so you could watch every current lanky box video nonstop for the rest of your life and when they make a bunch more videos, and entire lifetime. and i was being generous with the calculations, that was at MINIMUM.

I watched the skibidi toilet thing, and I liked it.
Im 44 and a veteran, and there was a LOT thats interesting, ina very exhausting package, but that is kind of the point I think. So, the toilets, are potty humor, old style jokes, media, etc.
Then you got the guys with cameras on their heads, being the streamers, and the speaker heads, being the music industry, and the toilets, are trying a last hurrah against the wave of new tech and media.
So def intriguing, and it got more watchable later on. I figured Id comment, since Im the last person to stick up for this kind of stuff. Im borderline ludite.
If people say it’s good and you should watch it actually do because you should not be a judgy person who never looks or watches things and some people actually did rather being like those other people

Marble Races have been on RUclips for a LONG, and I mean LONG time. They first began around the year 2010. It hasn't JUST been recently. Its only seen a resurgence from these Shorts. However, they were different than the type that's seen on RUclips shorts. They had MORE value than whatever marble slop is being put out present day. They were still a LITTLE mind-numbing, but not as much as it is currently. (Sorry for sounding like a nerd, I just wanted to point something out!)
This is why I'm scared for the future of toon turf because the riggy content farms will be insane

They need to be stopped but the only problem is, many of these _fall outside of US copyright jurisdiction_
As a younger individual, I'm glad i was born a few yrs earlier then when this brainrot arised and grew up watching actual cartoons and enjoyable,genuinely funny and likable kid content
