Edge hasn't portrayed that character on TV this year. The last he was on he spoke about him bringing it back. I've no doubt you'll be right in the long run, but until he does, your comment is an assumption.
Yeah, I loved the initial reaction and Asuka running around the ring screaming “I’m the champion, I’m the champion” and was such a great reaction as it was so genuine but whenever she got back into the ring where Becky dropped the bomb and announced that she was pregnant, nobody could fake that reaction whatsoever and really allowed Becky and Asuka to share the spotlight in a real genuine moment.
Not as much but it can still take you out of the experience, like think of WWE as a play, if you were watching a play and one of the actors phone goes off it breaks the immersion of the play, that's why it's important to keep character at least for me. It's fine to break character when......there not in character lol, like a public setting but while they are portraying there characters it's important to keep the act. If people broke kayfabe whenever they wanted in Wrestling then that would make WWE, IMPACT, AEW the most pointless thing to watch because it'd be all over the place.
Asuka is not only the greatest wrester today but behind the charachter she's such a funny and lovely person. Can't wait the eventual Asuka vs Baszler feud on the main roster, that's a Wrestlemania Headliner caliber match right there
Honestly watching lesnar react like an actual human makes me feel sympathy for him. They could have done way better and maintained the "you have to see lesnar" image he once had
If Brock Lesnar somehow developed the fun loving, charismatic guy he's hinted at as a character in WWE (something I suspect is true in real life, but he's fiercely private to protect his family), he would be absolutely loved and John Cena's "you can't see me" would really become the truth...
I actually think Asuka and Becky werent breaking characters. Their storyline wasnt a feud either, it seemed like a healthy sporty rivalry. But it still was an wholesome moment
Finally I saw the intro of the legend, Undertaker thank you Wrestlelamia!😍🤩🙃 Stop laughing about leaner dancing for mvp's them entrance!!!Lol and lesner's laughing made laughing unstoppable, damn😂
My favorites have to be Brock Lesnar dancing and the last one that featured Sasha, Bayley Alexa bliss and Nikki cross but overall this was a great video.
Cena didn't break kayfabe because that's always been his character. Mentioning a superstar by name isn't so much breaking kayfabe as it is putting the angle over giving it a personal touch which is actually honoring kayfabe. Lesnar didn't break kayfabe so much as it being a throwback to his 2003 run. Remember his backstage with sable? "You remember?... You remember" Becky announcing her pregnancy was another example of reality blurring with fiction which was a constant though the 90s. It was the correct way to pass on the title but definitely credit to Asuka.

MVP's return was one of the most underrated moments. Even I personally didn't take that seriously. But after 1 year 10 months MVP is the one who runs RAW. He's the MVP of the Flagship Show of WWE. That man is a legend.
I wouldn't call mentioning someone's children breaking kayfabe if it's part of the storyline. It's not like they were trying to hide the fact that Edge and Beth are together, otherwise Beth wouldn't have even been included in this whole feud.
@@MisterBig-10 Paul Heyman started his career carrying a camera around saying he's a professional hired camera man with a fake ID badge. Paul Heyman is a great human being. @Vequio Ourax Wrestlers literally talk to each other all the time during matches. That is how humans communicate. That moment was nothing but improvising. They did not make it obvious to the viewers that they were changing the plan.
When Edge threw AJ out of the ring, the OC was confused. You can see Baron Corbin signal that AJ shoulder was hurt by tapping on his own shoulder while looking at Karl Anderson.
I don't think people being called by their real names is a kayfabe break. People have stage names in all types of entertainment, it just makes it more personal and real.
Heath Slater broke kayfabe, when he returned to confront Drew McIntyre and he said “You know my family, you know my kids, and not the 22 the world thinks I have but my 2 beautiful little girls.”
Keyfabe was in a barely living state once technology and social media became a big thing. Now that the Undertaker is retiring and left behind his great documentary, last wrestler to amazingly commit to his character is done. So it's dead, and that kinda kills the fun a bit.
Was Brock Lesnar laughing at R-Truth really breaking keyfabe? To me it looked like it was part of the script. As amusing as the segment was, I find it hard to believe that Lesnar found Truth so funny that he had to put his hand on his stomach at times. Sure it got a light chuckle out of me, but I would find it incredible if it was genuinely the belly hurting comedy that it actually was.
Would Taker & Lesnar's sit up stare laugh be in the conversation at SummerSlam? I have never laughed so hard watching wrestling as I did watching that live. It most definitely happened in the moment.
is Kayfabe a relatively new term? I've watched wrestling all the way back to early 90's and had watched from before that time as well. And have never heard that term before. Beyond a couple of years ago.
I think the interesting thing about Kayfabe is that the term kayfabe itself has been around since forever in regards to wrestling and if one were to acknowledge the word when kayfabe was still alive, it is no longer kayfabe lol. So that's probably why it's heard more common now. The secret is out.
Back in the day it was used only by the people in the business, you know back when fans didn't know about the stuff that goes on behind the scenes. If I remember correctly, it was this kind of a secret code word for staying in character that they would use around people who were not in the business.
You missed that Rtruth was part of a bet between hayman and lesner. They told him right before coming out for the promo about the bet and he made that off the top of his head.
I cannot believe that Heyman actually thought Lesnar stood a change against the comedic genius of R-Truth, so I have to believe that Heyman had actually plannes for Lesnar to break character there.
