- ❤️ I had to get her before the Dog Baiters or Backyard Breeders did. Not my usual rescue but this poor girl was in a desperately dangerous situation ❤️

@@michaelcavalieri262thank you Michael, I did cat rescue for years and still have some of those cats and it's hard and expensive. But it's worth it at least where I am it's hard to find good homes here in America. I've never really asked for donations because you just get a lot of crap here so I've just done it on my own but I know it it just gets expensive.

6 years in isolation is a long time, she must not have any social skills apart from her rescuing this cat, poor thing

It’s such a moment to witness Madonna learning to jump. A cat her age and size doesn’t know how to jump is quite unthinkable. I thought all cats have it in their instincts to jump but like humans they too can lose their primal ability. Thank you for being soooo patient with her. The moment when you see her finally jumped and struggled a little trying to find her footing must be an endearing one. I’d be over the moon.
I was so proud of her 😊 I sure her mind was telling her she would be punished for jumping and her body wasn't used to coordinating the muscles ❤

What a heart of gold. Most would've dumped her in a shelter. My cat was semi-feral when I rescued her and 4 years later she is the sweetest little earthquake. Love heals everything.

Another beautiful and heart wrenching rescue. Over forty years I've had Siamese cats, I have only one now -- a one year old who looks just like Madonna. What a gorgeous, personable girl!
Reminds me of our third cat, Millie - she'd been one of 18 cats in a hoarding situation, and when we got her she'd been with her foster for over a year with not a single person wanting to look at her. She's a gorgeous calico, but was terrified of everything, ran everywhere with her belly to the ground, and spooked incredibly easily. We couldn't believe no one had wanted
It took two years before she purred for us, and now she solicits pets as long as she's in one of her safe places, we hear her ping off the bed in the night, and she comes upstairs to sit in the same room as us in the evenings, even when we have visitors. She's never going to be a bold, confident cat, and she'll always have her quirks, but we wouldn't give her up for the world.

Thank the Lord it was you who rescued her. I think that cats are quite like dogs in that there really are no bad cats, only bad owners or humans. Madonna is beautiful, and it's so good to see her restoration to faith in a human.❤❤

You're a fantastic storyteller with the patience of an angel. Out of curiosity, how did you know that Madonna wouldn't run off when going outside?
Thank you ❤ I don't let a cat out until I can sense the strong bond. It may take 2 or 3 months. Then there is never a reason for them to run off. They don't want to be homeless again. They listen to me and trust me. Madonna and I have a particularly strong bond and she would be clingy rather than run off. I do use a harness in some situations, usually with very young cats.
I'm glad you're keeping her. I don't know that others would understand her.

Thank you for sharing Madonna's story. I have 3 boys of my own and recently started fostering another very shy boy from a nearby humane society. It crushes my heart ~ the way Madonna's former owner neglected her. I wish more people would research an animal's needs before getting one. I am Thankful that she ended up with you and not in another bad situation. Thank you for all the effort you put in to save her!

Tiffany, I'm in complete awe of your ability to deal with these complex cases. Thank goodness Madonna was lucky enough to be taken out of her hellish and isolated life by you. Your patience and acceptance of the rollercoaster of this poor cat's gradually coming to terms with living a truly good life, alongside the wonderful Picasso, is so wonderful and humbling to see. There were times I thought that Madonna was too damaged and traumatised to achieve anything but a basic improvement, and I can't tell you how pleased I was when she finally seemed to turn that crucial corner and trust you. Not only that, but show affection to her forever Mum. I'm so pleased she gets to stay with you and Picasso, and what a triumph of kindness and decency over the ignorant and cruel behaviour of her previous so-called owner. I get so angry at the things I see and hear about the lives of so many unfortunate cats. Thank goodness this beautiful girl had a happy ending. Have only had sick, old, abused, abandoned and feral cats all my life.
One was from a cat hoarder. For 7 weeks he hid. Didn't see him unless you went looking for him.
But I talked to him. All the time, every time I went into the room he was in. Never approached, never tried to pet.
He did come out, finally. He's now the chattiest cat ever, never an unexpressed thought. He also loves pets, hugs, kisses and now even being picked up and carried around.
Patience.
We never know all that they have experienced.
Wonderful to see your love and patience pay off and poor little Madonna rehabilitated. My mind boggles that people could treat any animal this way. They should never have animals in their “care.” So glad you kept her. Blessings to you from Australia.

Another great job. It’s incredible how you handled the girl. You have a lot of skills. I’ve been working with my rescue for 2 years she still hides under the bed when I approach. She does play though with a feather toy on a stick.

It really is fascinating how cats (and other animals) react positively to calming music. Truly, music is the universal language of the soul.
I find music works so well. I also saw it work with dogs I've had in the past. They would lay down right next to the speaker ❤
