This is so cool. These guys seem awesome and really smart, and their products seem amazing. I wish we had a shop like this in the United States period we really don't have any options for the old compact Ford rangers. So many of us work these things pretty hard, and Ford never made a really good transmission or option for them, so they're always breaking down. And there's no aftermarket transmission upgrade unfortunately
Hi gentlemen your nomad valve body seems very interesting. Let me explain my issues and let me know whether a valve body upgrade can make a difference. I owned a 2014 model Mazda BT-50 new from the dealer and from the very first week I noticed after driving down hill for about a mile and a half without much of depressing the accelerator. When the vehicle gets to the flat area of the road it hesitates to move, and normally once I remove my foot off the brake the vehicle starts moving without even the accelerator being depressed. sometimes the power train trouble light would come on. Then two things would happen after that. It I continue accelerating after a few seconds I would feel a bang or jerk from the transmission and the vehicle would drive fine after that, or if I switch the engine off and start again the vehicle would be fine and will drive with no hesitation. Also if the power train trouble indicator came on, switching the engine off and on again the indicator would go off and vehicle would drive just fine. I reported that situation to the dealer and they tried multiple fixes including replacing the TCM, replacing the transmission, and replacing the wiring harness and the problem still persisted. Until after two years the vehicle was replaced to a 2017 same Mazda BT-50. It did not take long to realize the newer model had the very same issue just a little less often. So I decided just to deal with the issue by restarting the engine when the issue comes up. But after three and a half years or so, I was pulling out faster from a minor road on to the highway and the wheels were spinning with not much traction so I eased off the accelerator and pressed it again and I felt a very hard bang in the transmission similar to what it does after going downhill for a bit. But much harder it actually startled me. Immediately after that happened when the vehicle shifts from 3rd to 4th gear it revs a bit high with a rough change. Long story short I drove the vehicle for about two years like this and one day it just stopped and transmission fluid spilled on the road. I replaced the transmission and torque converter. The original torque converter welded plate came off and the center pin broke off. Same issue exists after driving downhill for a bit. So would like to know if your valve body solution can help with this issue. Thanks in advance.
Your youtube videos are very helpful. It is a shame you never answer the phone. Contradicts your call waiting message somewhat that you have back up 24/7. I have been trying for 2 weeks to get an answer about Ranger PX2 lockup kits
Sorry about the phones Michael and we are actively trying to get on top of this, we are going through a full company review and are not only improving in each area of the company but acting on every request that our staff have made to help them with the tasks at hand. To answer your question, we are doing the PX Ranger lock-up kit now. The units are built and ready to go but how some software and fitting instructions to complete.

Is the ford ranger 2.2 2017 a good buy or bad buy in terms of reliability?
Our workshop has a PX ranger with torque converter clutch solenoid stuck code stored in the TCM. Is that the automatic transmission out?
No not at all. Give Trevor a call on 03-97628004 and he will let you know what needs to be done but it just pan and valve body off for this one.

We run one magnet that is built into the drain plug.

I have seen so many people say not to touch the solenoids with your bare hands because they are sensitive . What is the truth about this topic ?
They are fine to touch no issues at all.

Hi, where can I get this in South Africa? Any agents or importers?
No agents in South Africa but you can buy direct. Email rodney@askorto.com.au and I will sort you out.
Why don’t trans oil pans have a drain plug? It’d make life a lot easier
Many do but the Ford Ranger doesn't until you install the larger capacity cast aluminium pan we have Andy.
How much it is fitted and where?
Nice
What fluid used for this type of transmission? Mercon V or LV?
The 6R80 requires Mercon LV Compatible fluid.
How much is this kit as I'm looking at getting a ranger raptor
If it's the 2L 10 speed then check this web link out.

What is needed to change a manual gearbox to an auto one in these
A trip to the car yard - trade the manual for an auto.
What's the expected life span of the lock up clutch if being engaged much more often with extra strain on it?
We still expect to see full life. After thousands of kits sold covering all makes and models we are yet to see a lock-up failure.
