    Thank you so much for watching! How do you get your kids involved in household chores?

      We play the cleaning games. My girls are super competitive. So they race to see who can get what done first. 🤣

    I call chores"home blessings"and they get home blessings prizes monthly, usually something 5 or less per kiddo, throughout the month we talk about why we do them and how mommy also blesses the home in other ways, sometimes they do extra at will but the main goals are making the bed, keeping toys in the bin and putting trash away. Otherwise between helping with dishes, transferring laundry from washer to dryer and taking out the trash and recycle the day before the collectors come, that's how we do it💜🏡💕

    I subscribed just bc you talked about positive reinforcement with your kids. I have twins who are 6 yrs old and I sometimes will go so over the top "omg your sooooo smart; or fast; or your the best vaccumer ever!" I love to them blush a little and say "mom it's so easy tho" and I'll say "well yeah bc your so good at it!!" I was abused when I was young and I wished I could hear someone's silly dramatic compliments of what I was doing.

    Having labeled toy bins grouped by category has been super helpful with toy cleanup! I labeled with a picture of what goes in the IKEA bins, also the word.

    I love this video. We have a 3yo and 5yo too, they help clear off the table, wipe it up, dust, vacuum and take the recycles out to the outside can (we have a small(baby) can inside). They also love helping with putting away groceries and emptying the dishwasher too.

    Came here because I actually want to instill more cleaning with my kids. I’m a do your homework clean your room and help put your clothes when they get done and you’re good kind of Mom right now. Trying to find balance with our after school routine. I have an 8, 5, and 6 year old boy. ❤

    I needed this video :-) apart from cleaning up her toys and taking her dishes to the kitchen after eating, I actually don't have it structured but my 4yr old loves cleaning with me and washing the dishes, I am the problem though because I am a little bit extra with my cleaning so sometimes I feel like it takes longer to clean when she's helping me-I'm terrible I know but I am getting help :-) She doesn't like making her bed though, the one thing I ask from her, she has no interest in :-)

    Yes every child needs chores. Their always something they can do even at 1 1/2 earlier you start better. My 2 an 3 are also learning to make sure lights are out potty flushed, shoes by door in box , and no toys, trash, etc left in their area of the car! simple things.

    I started off having my son help my toss his diaper away in the trash when he was 1, now he helps put away his toys away, pick up, dust, wipe tables, wipe dishes, put his clothes in the hamper or clean clothes in the drawers. Each day we rotate. He can earn small treats and knows he contributes to the family, I’m a single mom so right now we aren’t doing allowances. He will be 5 in May. Your daughters are so cute

    I encourage my kids to join us wiv chores as they can and are willing, We not neat bed makers and we don’t have a rule to make their beds but I won’t make it wen they are old enough to do it themselves. We hang all of our clothes and our kids put them away themselves

      I agree! Sorting helps their brain development and starting young just helps it become part of the norm. My aunts said it was child labor but my kid does chores and theirs doesn’t at all and their are older and they complain. Should have started early!

      @@anitababcock8238 Unless it it just cleaning up after themselves it IS child slavery. No other group is still allowed to own slaves, but, as sick as it is, PARENTS are still allowed to own slaves. It should have been made against the law a long time ago.

    Do you reward for chores? I thought creating a chore chart with a chore reward “store” would motivate my kids, but they see it more as work. I don’t know how to get them to see it as doing their fair share. My kids are 6, 10, and 12.

    • @BrittanyLynnHomeschool
      @BrittanyLynnHomeschool  3 года назад +2

      We don’t really reward chores or use a chart. I have before and it seemed to backfire for us too. But for a long while they have been great and just knowing this is something they must do.

      @@BrittanyLynnHomeschool So what kind of punishment if they balk or don't want to do it?

    • @BrittanyLynnHomeschool
      @BrittanyLynnHomeschool  2 года назад

      @@mothersslave8199 I don’t punish for not having a great attitude. We all have good and bad attitudes even as adults. I give them options of chores to get done or start with and they make the choice. That way they’re involved and not feeling forced.

    • @mothersslave8199
      @mothersslave8199 2 года назад

      @@BrittanyLynnHomeschool Well as long as you can keep them happy doing it, it is not abuse. However, if the kid really objects, and it is not just cleaning up after himself, to force them is slave labor.

      I pay my kids commission for their Saturday jobs because it’s the cleaning you’d hire someone to do weekly if you could afford it. My 11 and 13 year old get $3.50 if they do their best on all the tasks on the weekly list, if they decide to skip a task or say they did it but it’s visibly grimy then their pay gets docked. My 6 year old gets 25¢ for each weekly tasks he helps with.
