Bagot Corner, I'm also into engines and anything mechanical and you seem like such an expert. I've been having problems with my Briggs 5s, and after seeing a bunch of your videos its clear to me that you really know a lot about small old briggs and strattons. I recently fully rebuilt a briggs 5s from 1951, its all back together except for the ignition. I just cant seem to get it to spark no matter what I do. I tested the ohms of the coil on the 20k setting and it gave me a reading of 3.94 which ive read is a good reading. I then cleaned all the spots the coil contacts the base plate, along with the coil ground, and points mechanism (including its ground). I hooked up my condenser, cleaned and gapped the points and put the flywheel on. I previously cleaned up the magnets on the flywheel and the spots on the coil that contact them. I then properly gapped the magneto to the flywheel and spun it and i held the end of the ignition cable close to the block , no sparks occurred, i also hooked up the spark plug and it didint spark either. I then tried the 6 volt battery test that I saw on your channel and still no sparks were occurring. I then put a good condencer from my working wmb on, and it still failed both tests. I then decided to throw on the working wmb coil, and still no sparks on both tests. Sorry for being so lengthy, I just wanted to explain everything in detail. I really dont know why this thing wont spark, any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bryan
