People find this song to be like some supervillain intro, but I think that interpretation says more about them than the song. I personally find it somber/sad as if something was revealed that is past no return and you are unable to stop yourself from moving foward, you're gettinng carried by the torrent further and further away from the moment you wish was different thus less able to change it.
