    Love love your set up guys....it's beautiful and practical. Your garage of the 100s of vids I have seen on YT I would say wins the price for the best looking layout...all the electrical stuff is neatly covered and looks just great. As for the clothing storage...a woman has more different kinds of clothing so the packing systems works best for her, but the husband's is easier to see at first glance and is even more practical...so you both did a great job...and deserve your kudos for it..👍👍😄 Wishing you safe travels..

      Wow thanks if you have watched hundreds of videos that means a lot! I know we sure watched thousands of videos before choosing the layout and tried to take the best aspects of all the vans we saw and took inspiration from. That's so funny because that's exactly what my mum said about the clothes storage! Thanks and take care :)

    This is the best set up in a van I have ever seen. It's very cozy and very much has homie feel.

      Wow thank you so much, it's certainly felt like a little cozy home on the road ❤️

    I love your van! I like both clothes storage options but would probably go with Matt's easy to access system. I use packing cubes a lot but if I had this van, it'd be great not to have to zip/unzip!

      Glad you liked it! We had no idea there would be sooo many decisions to make! But at the same time it was a lot of fun :)

    What a top van ! So compact , workable and lots of character. Didn't realise how many decisions go into building a van. The garage was very interesting ! Well done Matty & Megan 🤩

    15:25 I think the german Ordnungssinn has a slight advantage because if an insect makes its way into the box the clothes are protected when in a packing.
    By the way - because this video is about it - your van is state of the art.

    • @lapwithnomap
      @lapwithnomap  Год назад

      Haha well since Megan is German her Ordnungssinn is probably an advantage! We haven't had any bugs in our clothes cabinets so far but now I'm scared that will happen haha thanks for your kind comments once again. Glad you like the van 🤙🏼

    Do you have a wiring diagram of the electrical system ? Could be a challenge to figure out a fault in the system without it when you are remote in the bush.

    • @lapwithnomap
      @lapwithnomap  Год назад

      Not really, to be honest I wouldn't feel confident to fix it myself. But it's all the same products and very well done, nothing has faulted so far. Enerdrive the brand of the electrical products are very highly regarded with their customer service and all products have a warranty so if something was to happen I'd first contact them and then see who they recommend taking it to

    Loved your battery setup and the white and gold aesthetic of the interior. Also going with a curtain instead of a door makes so much sense. Great layout mates🤙

      @lapwithnomap  Год назад

      Thank you so much 🙏🏼 yeah the Battery setup has been amazing 😍 we just don't see much of it because it's always packed behind stuff. Phil who built it was a bit disappointed when he saw all the stuff we put in the garage haha but has to be done!

    fabulous set up guys!!! We have just transitioned from being caravan owners with our kids to restoring a Volkswagen T3 Trakka - a work in progress! We also are thinking of being completely without gas/propane in our little vintage van as we have used mostly induction cooktops in the past and love them - ours is from IKEA. Also Megan, you are a girl after my own heart - packing cubes for the win (can I ask which brand you use?). Love following your adventures and some great ideas for our current project

    • @lapwithnomap
      @lapwithnomap  Год назад

      Your vintage van conversion sounds fantastic! Yeah not sure how all electric would go in a little van if you didn't have space for a big battery bit you can always bring a little gass cooktop for just incase or use public BBQs every now and then. The packing cubes were from ALDI actually and some others just from DFO at a luggage store. Thanks for following along our adventures and best of luck with yours!

    I've seen the pull out bed thing now a couple times and I think I would also go that route if I did a van. It's a great use of space.

    • @lapwithnomap
      @lapwithnomap  Год назад +1

      Yeah we are super happy with it 😄 certainly wouldn't be able to have a full size bed in a van this size so it's a good compromise

    Love the full depth drawers!! LOVED the cutting board/ work top. How much fresh water do you have? I really like your videos!!!!

    • @lapwithnomap
      @lapwithnomap  Год назад

      Thank you so much!! Yeah we love the worktop too but have to be careful not to scratch or damage it because we don't have a thick varnish on it. We have about 85l of fresh water and a 40l grey water tank both under the van, forgot to mention that, cheers 🤙🏼

    Sorry Matt but Megan's system is better, easily take out what you need without disturbing your other clothes.
