In this video I head out to Geelong, Victoria, Australia to catch Salmon (Also known as Bay Trout, Black Back, Buck Salmon, Cocky Salmon, Colonial Salmon and Kahawai ). It was a great morning flicking plastics and it was awesome to see them slowly approaching the area I was fishing.
The Geelong area has proven to be a great area to target Salmon in the cooler months. I was using a pink 3.5” Curly Grub but when I saw the salmon were around I thought it was a better idea to change over to the 2.5” Paddle Grub for a better match to what they may have been eating.
Salmon can be aggressive feeders, but when they aren’t, it pays to change colours/styles and retrieves to entice them to bite. 😊
You can get the lure I was using in this video at - - - www.jigglefishing.com.au?aff=2 and there is also a range of other softplastics, metal lures and jig heads.
Sales made through www.jigglefishing.com.au?aff=2 directly support me with funds to create further videos and you also get a great product 😊. I personally pack and post the orders and we now have INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING available!!!

Nice run of Salmon there. Great to see.
Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers.
Another great vid man. I grew up in geelong and never fished that area in 13 years.
It's a good area
Great fishing Lincoln!!!
Good Video Congratulations this place is beautiful, the fish looks like the ones from here in *Brazil* where I make my Fishing.👍🎣😊
Well done Lincoln good catch 🏆🥇👍👋👋
Was a great little session
Nice 👍🏻 vid! I made Cajun Blackened Salmon over the camp fire at Tamboon Inlet a couple of times, superb.
Good one!
Good stuff mate
I get a few comments about my light drag settings on RUclips. It makes me want to loosen it even more just for the entertainment of reading the comments. 😆😆😆 Sorry that I don't like skull dragging fish in 🤣
Light drag is the best. I use 4lb off the rocks sometimes for a bit of fun and challenge haha
Nice catch
And here’s my salmon vid I asked for while back ...yours are huge over that side of the bay !
Ron North still tiny compared to anyway else in the state
Tim Vincent well yeah some one els made a comment 60cm is still considered juvenile still ?
Awesome.
Great fun!
I can relate to all the locations you're fishing from as I'm living in Melbourne. My problem is I never catch fish like you do. I can at least tell my wife there's fish to be caught to justify my occasional outings on weekends. :) Cheers mate.
I like to fish early morning, team that up with a tide change and you will improve your chances ;). Don't worry I have fishless trips too:)
Nice fishing 👌
Now you're just mean 😊... Ive spent countless hours around there for less than half a dozen sizable fish in total! Congrats on the great catch!
The salmon are around! Spend some time down there now and you might get onto them
@@LandFishTV last day out there was the weekend before you landed those fish, plenty of small flatties about and the odd brim and pinkie. Hoping to get out thete on the kayak soon
Just found this video(10pm) and im fishing there right now haha
Nice love bait fishing hi from nz
Great video
These are food not bait for me haha. Thanks for watching.
We eat them smoked or raw (or on a circle hook)
@@finbrok7038 I am in love with Thai fish cakes using salmon ruclips.net/video/eTgIj-_XHwo/видео.html
Hey dude, love all ur vids soo much!❤️ I go fishing in thos spots in ur video all the time but I never catch salmon, just wondering what time did u catch them? U should come back to geelong soon for another fishing vid, would love to watch it or even see u there!❤️🎣
im going to gelong on my birthday in a week, why its so easy for you to fish? i never catch any, any secrets to share? how long do you usually need to wait?
👍👍
That looked like heaps of fun Lincoln, well done! What landing net are you using, as I'm trying to find an extendable one for jetties etc, and yours looks sturdier than any others I've seen. Cheers.
Thanks bud. Can't remember the brand but got it at Kolliou Fishing

@@LandFishTV Thank you, keep up the awesome work!
What size jighead were you running here?
Good kingfish live bait
Hi Lincoln, today I went there. Same spot where you caught those salmon but couldn't get a fish. All day long and nothing. Used many kind of lures very good ones for salmon fishing. So disappointing ☹️☹️☹️obviously they were not there anymore.
Salmon move around, but they frequent the Geelong area, do more trips and you might be lucky enough to get a few.
what does bleeding the fish mean/do?
Hello Linc I’ve commented a few times now but I need to know, any good land based places near Willy? That are consistent also? Plz help!
You have to spend the hours to catch fish!. Try concentrating on the change of tide ;)
Well done been an old subscriber um you should do a main line to leader knot vid!!
I generally use the FG knot from main braid line to leader, if I am feeling lazy I do a Uni to uni. Heaps of videos out there on how to tie both, I've tried filming one, but wasn't happy with the result.
Great catch. Sorry might have missed it but where bouts in Geelong is this mate?
Down in the Marina are where the Helicopter takes off.
Nice one, havent got any just yet. Snotty Trevs should be around there soon
Yeah the Smitty's were fun last year too.
Land Fish TV got word. They’re getting them now
@@dragginmedown if only I wasn't 600+km away haha. Go get into them for me.
Land Fish TV wish i could. My mates heading down soon, reckons people were bagging out
You can sashimi them also, soy and wasabi!
Is this during sunrise or sunset ?
Morning ;)
Nice vid lincoln. What setup were you using?
I had the Shimano Catana 1 piece 2-4kg teamed up with a 2500 Shimano Sedona, 15lb j-braid and 16lb leader. Much heavier than I normally fish with.
Land Fish TV cheers mate
Nice catches! When was this? Today or recently, I'm geelong based and starting out on soft plastic fishinh. Cheers
Last week.
Cheers mate, tight lines!!
Hi there mate, whereabouts is the location of that spot. I noticed a restaurant to your left behind you. I can use that as a reference spot. I had a good run in Warrnambool but Geelong is a lot closer when driving from Melbourne!!
Dropped pin
Near Victoria

So they’re ok to eat? Haven’t heard of too many blokes keeping them.
Never eaten them in a fillet fried or steamed. But I love them in the fish cakes. It's one fish I will definitely keep my bag if I can.
I would never know what a “paddle tail grub” is
Good day
Can you show how you kill your fish? I've watched plenty of how tos, but just wanted to see how you do it ☺
It's not something I would show on my channel at this stage.
He bleeds them with 100 papercuts each
He used a chainsaw and a tomahawk axe to bleed them, everyone does it these days, it’s the only way to bleed Australian salmon, that’s why Lincoln doesn’t want to post it up, can’t blame the guy. You can buy the mini chainsaw3000 on one of his links... 🧐🤪🤣
get a cooler. load it up with saltwater. destroy the fishes' spinal cord in 1 single strike of a heavy butcher knife from Behind it's neck. make sure it's dead & then follow up by bleeding the fishes' gills & artery/vein at the end of it's tail bone. last of all put it back into the cooler & let it bleed as long until you reach back home. having ice is a plus point BUT extra salt mixed into the saltwater is also efficient in preserving the freshness & quality of the fishes' flesh.
Oruvilaatha Rudthiran that’s a good practice. Also, just for not letting something lay there dying slowly. And I’m not tree hugging hippie bastard. But you don’t just let things suffer slowly.
отличн видео очень хорошее
Bruh you gotta tighten the drag a bit more. Then watch how much more fun they are to catch.
It's as tight as I like it ;)
Rastgele
Salmon?? 😳😳
Is that what you call salmon in Australia ? Not Kahawai maybe?
These are called Salmon here, they have a few different names though! :)
Tighten u your drag
It's as tight as I like it ;).
Nah bro! You tighten your belt and pull your pants up... 😆
U got a bleed them brother if u wanna take home to eat
Drag to loose
Each to their own bud! Fishing fairly light gear.
Why don’t you ever tell me when you come down Disappointed
The list of people wanting me to tell them when I go places is getting pretty big haha. I was visiting my mum in hospital and waiting for the visiting hours to start ;)
Land Fish TV got a lot better places to show you then this aha
@@LandFishTV Wow, that's putting your fishing first. "Sorry I'm late mum the fish were on the bite" Lol! I hope you bring her some of those Thai fish cakes (yum). Love the honesty of your fishing, a mate having fun doing something he likes. Keep it up you good thing.
@@garryknox1614 that's why I had to leave so I wasn't late for the visiting hours opening. I am positive I could have got more if I stayed haha.
@@LandFishTV I'm sure she would have understood, ha, ha!
