Probably Koleosho if he chooses America. I'm really hoping he does so we can have a proper challenger on the Wing with Haji and Koleosho challenging Weah, Loved how Luca has looked so far, wonder how he's gonna do if he's still with Burnley next season.
The thing with Ream going is that he would bring in a sense of maturity and mindset that can help the youngsters..have a 39 y.o. in the locker room can help a lot if we get behind a bit. It's exactly why I think he needs to be on our Olympics team
The problem with this is that this team isn't going to be that young by then. Pulisic, McKennie, Weah, Adams, Richards, and CCV are all going to be in their mid to late 20s with WC experience (exception of Richards I believe). Not to mention theres going to be a GK is in their 30s (likely Turner even if its a backup position). There's not really a need for an older player thats hardly if ever going to play.
Maybe Koleosho comes to USMNT and is the 4th winger. Maybe Downs turns up. Taylor Boothe seems like a possibility. Doubtful but maybe Paxten grows and pushes Tilman.
Not sure if it was just me, but I did not get an alert 🚨📱 that this video posted / came out… Looks like it posted at about 5:10pm EST. I double checked & have ‘ALL’ alerts on for 11 Yanks & Tactical Manager… 🙂👍🏼🇺🇸⚽️ Keep up the quality work guys! And THANK YOU!!! 🇺🇸⚽️😊👍🏼
Definitely agree with that. Having Pulisic, Weah, Wright, Sargent, Pepi, and Balogun as the six forwards provides plenty of flexibility and positional coverage. Could also play McKennie or Tillman wide if needed as more pinched in wingers. No need to bring in lesser players just to have another pure wing.
Tyler Adams suffered a back strain, and it's potentially medial region of the latissimus dorsi. Grade II lat strains take at least a month to heal (usually 2-3 months). Tac mentioned Tyler has been out a month, so he should at least be in Phase II of his rehab by now.
As Pete & Tac both referenced we could see significant changes in 3 months, after the Copa & Olympics. With Berhaulter at the wheel there are bound to be a couple head scratchers (MLS Marketing picks). Based on current form and what Gregg has been doing I think the 23 would be: Keeper: Turner, Horvath, Brady (Callender & Slonina in conversation) Outside Backs: Dest, Jedi, Scally, Lund Center Backs: Richards, Robinson, CCV, McKenzie (Neal & Trusty in conversation) Midfield: Adams, Cardoso, McKennie, Musah, Reyna, Malik (DeLa Torre, Maloney, Tessmann in the conversation) Wide Attackers: Pulisic, Weah, Wright, Cowell (Aaronson, Booth, Parades) Striker: Balogun, Sargent (Pepi) Dark Horses who I could see Gregg include in the WC Roster: Busio, T. Tillman, Luna, and Tolkin/Wiley. I'd like to see Ream join the coaching staff for the WC to help mentor the CBs.
Also, question that would love to get y'all's insights on... Around 33:00 - 33:30 or so, y'all are talking about MLS doing more to bring home some of the troops eventually. If MLS is going to ever get better, and as a someone who would love to see the league (or a league in the U.S.) get respect around the world and have some great players, what would they need to do to get to a point that returning to MLS isn't an immediate mark on a player? Obviously, spend shit tons of money, but then it becomes like the Saudi League and Chinese 'super' league that overspends and busts... What would be the answer to getting MLS to a point where we all are actually excited to see a USMNT player playing in the league?
MLS will never match the speed, intensity or environment of the top European leagues and it's nowhere close to the youth development of the top South American leagues who crank out world class players. It will also never fight for world class players in transfer spending because its owners are concerned about profits and most MLS franchises are not profitable. Any league outside of Uefa will always be a retirement league at least for the next few decades unless something changes fundamentally like the club world cup or a new global club tournament. You gotta stop dreaming about MLS being a top league and accept it for what it is, a below average league with lots of scoring and a not so serious playoffs with different teams winning it every season. MLS is sports entertainment, not a serious league with promotion relegation and actual stakes on the line.
MLS is getting better, and has been for the past decade. MLS in 2024 is on a different tier than it was in 2019. In 2019 it was on a different tier than 2014. Though for the most part it’s been pretty gradual… need to convince more owners to open up their wallets and lobby to change the roster rules pretty significantly for it to take a big leap and crack the top 10 leagues globally.
@@ichigo2012hollowmask pretty pessimistic view to think that no matter what happens they can't get to that point. MLS is only 30 years old and only really started growing around the mid-late 2000s... Never is a long time. But I have a feeling you may just be a MX fan... Don't expect it anytime soon, but to say never is kind of ignorant.
@@TMAC803210 At this point given that the Prem just agreed to a spending cap--not the same as a salary cap true but still--I find it likelier and likelier that if anything, the top UEFA leagues are going to start trying to emulate MLS more than the other way around, which in turn is going to keep things in MLS closer to what they are other than increases and changes to the spending--especially if the Super League actually takes off.
I'm taking this with a grain of salt! Better yet with a shot of tequila!! I think it's too soon to make an accurate prediction for USMNT WC2026: However, I did found this as an intellectual and cerebral discussion very entertaining and informative. Kudos on your extraordinary work.
Roster Locks (not MY locks, predicting Greggs): 1. Turner (lock to start imo) 2. Dest (lock to start) 3. Scally 4. Jedi (lock to start) 5. Richards (lock to start) 6. CCV 7. Robinson 8. Adams (lock to start if healthy) 9. Johnny 10. McKennie (lock to start) 11. Reyna 12. Tillman 13. Musah 14. Weah 15. Pulisic (lock to start) 16. Balogun That leaves 7 spots between 2 goalies (Horvath, Callender, Steffen, Schulte or MAAAAYBE Slonina), 1 fullback (likely Lund, could be Yedlin or Jones), 1 centerback (McKenzie, Neal or Trusty), 2 wingers (Aaronson, Wright, Paredes or Koleosho) and 1 center forward (Sargent, Pepi or Vasquez) For the final 7, I lean: Horvath, Schulte, Lund, McKenzie, Aaronson, Wright and Sargent as the final 7. If Koleosho commits, I think he's a lock. If there's another 3, I lean towards Jones/Yedlin, LDLT and Wright as the final 3.
GK: Turner, Shulte, Brady FB: Dest, Scally, Robinson CB: Richards, CCV, McKenzie, Trusty MF: Johnny, Adams, Musah, Mckennie, Reyna, Tillman, LDLT F: Pulisic, Wright, Weah, Sargent, Pepi, Balogun If you need a fourth FB I'd play Weah, Trusty or McKennie there before Lund or Reynolds. If you need another winger, I'd play Sargent or McKennie there before Paredes or Aaronson. LDLT last man on my roster and considered probably 10 guys for that last spot.
I would love to see Brooks return, but after the whole incident in that Canada WC qualifier, he’s likely not coming back. If Gregg gets sacked or leaves for whatever reason, maybe, but until then, no. Even if Gregg or another coach let Brooks play again, at times, he can be a little slow and he’s a little old, but could be a potential replacement for Ream. So, realistically, if Brooks believes he’s capable for this team, he’d have to prove himself in the friendlies against Brazil and Colombia.
Im going to kepp sharing this, but man i tgink Kevin Paredes is better suited as a LB. It doesn't seem like he will be dynamic or technically high quality enough to be a strong winger. But what he will have is having those winger skills translate better as a more modern day full back; comfortable attacking forward but with the speed to cover a alot of defensive ground. Maybe he will grow more in his offensive abilities but i think USMNT would be getter served with Paredes as a LB option
Who would you have in your 2026 World Cup Roster that neither of us brought?
Random but Lozano might go to the mls next year 😂😂
Probably Koleosho if he chooses America. I'm really hoping he does so we can have a proper challenger on the Wing with Haji and Koleosho challenging Weah, Loved how Luca has looked so far, wonder how he's gonna do if he's still with Burnley next season.
Maloney fits Berhalter system. He is a classic and very effective destroyer at CDM..

You could replace Aaronson with Sargent as a wide forward, and keep Pepi and Balogun.

Tim Ream should be brought in as a Coach for all defenders if he has the ability to communicate the game.
you mean bought in as a player, or bought in specifically in a coaching role?
GK: Schulte, Turner, Horvath
With the uncertainty with our wingers (besides Pulisic and Weah) I would bring Sargent and Haji as wingers if the world cup were coming up this summer

Dest is out. He got injured. Won't be back till next year.
Im pretty sure Weah is a locked in starter for us. Maybe Reyna too, like Adams, if he is healthy.
Forget Yedlin

As a keeper way back in 80s. Imo your best keeper will be the guy that gets the reps and gets scored on the most. Just my opinion.
GK: Turner, Shulte, Brady
FB: Dest, Scally, Robinson
CB: Richards, CCV, McKenzie, Trusty
MF: Johnny, Adams, Musah, Mckennie, Reyna, Tillman, LDLT

I would bring Maloney as a CB
I think this is probably about 90% accurate, my only slightly bold take is I don’t think Tillman will make the eventual WC roster.
Horrid take
roster predictions for 2026 rn: Gk= Turner,Horvath,Schulte Fbs= Dest,Lund,Scally,Jedi Cbs= Richards,CCV,Miles,Max Deitz, Mf=Tillman,Mckennie,Adams,Reyna,Cardoso,Musah Fws= Pulisic,Weah,Haji,Balogun,Sargent,Pepi
I think it’s gonna be 26 men based on euros and copa
Nice
So are they not keeping 26 man rosters anymore?
1:03 im pretty sure the roster will be 26
If we don’t have Tyler I think obed Vargas could a be a great option in two years
Man these center backs are lacking
You forgot Middlefart.
Why can’t we play Sargeant as an outside forward? Hes a better player than Aaronson and we dont lose Pepi’s offense off the bench
Any update on Luca koleosho?
injured
