Can’t believe Bobby Ball passed away a year ago today. He will be missed. R.I.P. To celebrate his legacy, we’re watching the Blackpool show way back in 2005. The nostalgia!
I worked on the building Oldham Civic Hall in the 70's and the workers where talking about two fellas always cracking jokes, it was these two they where practising their Club act using the contractors as feedback, i saw them first hand and knew they would make it!
Hi rachelsirett8809.Well said 😊 I'm a 68 born baby & always loved cannon & ball. They opened our gala back in the 80s not sure what year unfortunately but still remember it like yesterday. Really good times. Me & my wife met them 3 times now & sad to say the last time they performed was at burnley mechanics. We met them outside in the car park & had pictures taken with them both separately. Bobby passed away on my granddaughter birth 28th October 2020. He'll never be forgotten. Take care.
@rachelsirett8809 hi 👋 thank you. He certainly was. We went to Bobby's statue unveiling in lytham st annes. An emotional day but certainly worth it. His statue is in lowther pavilion lytham st annes. If you can visit you'll not be disappointed.
I did not think these two were that funny in the 70s / 80s. But this is incredibly funny and the way they work the audience is like watching a masterclass in comedy.
Always interesting to see how a live show compares to pre-recorded one in the studio. In the studio, if you f*ck up, they can just do a re-take. Live, you only get one crack at it even if it's being filmed.
This is the kind of comedy chemistry that most double acts can only dream of. Bobby had funny bones, but if he didn't have Tommy to bounce off, it wouldn't have worked, even then, Tommy gives just as good as he gets.
Funny how time makes people great I remember at the time most people thought they were absolutely shte now all of a sudden they were amazing and kyle minogue is the queen of pop
replying to a comment further down that states that most people thought they were shite at the time, most people think they still are !! 😂 how people still laugh at the line .... rock on tommy .. is beyond me.
They're better than I remember them on TV programmes but I hoped for a full song and Bobby really playing guitar - it was a bit of an anti-climax at the end and rather repetitive in the bickering. The magic show was dropped so quickly too - I was hoping for Tommy Cannon to pull off a trick like Tommy Cooper.
they fell out for 3 years in the 80s then sorted it out but i think tommy changed he went to far sometimes he could be rude and on the line nasty to bobby i dont think sometimes it was an act
Loved watching seeing these brilliant pair as a kid and still loving watching them today.. Rock on Tommy. Rest in peace bobby you'll be forever missed
Bobvy ball could work an audience to perfection he was fantastic rock on bobby r.i p
I watched this live with my dad before my dad was taken away from the world in 2006. It was a beautiful performance

Slightly more risque' than their TV show, but funny without being overly-vulgar.

No he wasn't,it was part of the act. They remained good friends till the end. Rip Bobby Ball
@@rachelsirett8809 it wasnt part of the act it happened off tv ffs they have both said they fell out for a few years so get your facts straight
@@traciemarsh1611 I know they did, but it was not for long . They genuinely got along, alot of it was the pressure of showbusiness. So there
what a waste of 48 mins
