Today we celebrate

Today is World Chimpanzee Day. In honor of humankind’s closest living relative, #WorldChimpanzeeDay is a celebration of an extraordinary species: chimpanzees!
Sadly mostly it is not a happy matter for us, because, as an international NGO operating in Angola, we rescue chimpanzees victim of poaching. We conduct APU and groundbreaking #communityledconservation
But we do want to celebrate today with a happy note, by sharing with you our amazing rescue Maiombe.
She came to us very weak, thorn away from her forest and family, to be sold as pet to a rich person. We have taken her with us, to our base sanctuary, and slowly started her healing process. We have cared for her medically and mentally and healed her in every possible means we have, because at the end of the day we are not her real family. We cared and gave her medicine, hammock, tickle game that she lives, blankets for her to play and we supported her in every possible way we could, in our rehab center. Before her integration with her own kind.
We are professionals taking care of species. Chimpanzees are not toys and should never be used on props, dressed up, bought in the trade or for fake “influencer” money schemes.
Please regard them as living beings with high intelligence and social behaviors and help us in our hard mission to safeguard them under our Mission Caita program.
