France in general is a majority slept on nation. It's three Premium jets are really solid, those are the planes that got me into playing france. And if anyone would like to pick them up, now's a great time because War Thunder's having a sale right now and you can pick up their 60 dollar packs for around 35 dollars.
Meanwhile the French F-100D being worse at the same BR than both the F-100A (better thrust to weight and more agile, while still having 9Es) and the US F-100D (same performance, but more CAS options and the 9E)
The US pog planes were the first jets I truly had fun in. Their quad missile armament is amazing (lol long range 18G missile vs flareless jets) especially the 9Cs on the F8E, and the dogfight performance especially at low speed with the funny wing mode is great for slaying anything from the A5C to the MiG-21.
Okay but lots of planes in the 10.0 bracket don't have counter measures. My favourite J35D suffers to all aspects, but that's because of the br compression
As a french grinder i can say that this is absolute pain. I'm almost done grinding for this plane and then hearing that there is no flares or chaff on this plane is just...
Something else: the wings snap whenever you try to dogfight, but that's universal with every F-8
The French trying to finding a way to not mess it up (impossible challenge)
My friend lovingly refers to f8 as the wingbreaker because if you pull more than 8 gs your wings explode
I believe the flares were later upgrades that the French didn’t get.
