I am a Lunalight and also former Lyrilusc player, and I'm here to say if you don't have someone walk you through it, making mistakes especially with the Lunalights or not seeing something you can do is not at all suprising for a first time player, I made so many mistakes with Lunalight the first time I touched the deck it almost made me not want to play it, but it was worth it.
If you aren't making mistakes and learning from it, is it really playing? Like Sure people could spend hours playing on edpro but like what's the point?

The fact that doug, mister "what is card text!?" himself decided to play endymion of all possible archetypes is just the biggest "what was that!?" moments I've seen on this channel 😮

I absolutely love Endymion. I'd been looking forward to someone pulling the pack ever since Roulette started. I have to say though, Doug did pretty well despite almost bricking himself with his first play. Hopefully he sees how useful Mythical Bestiary is now!
Seeing Yosenjus and Heroes in the thumbnail gives me hope that Dougs gonna win, because Yosenju's crazy and I'm assuming Josephs gonna play Heroes I mean he's MBT after all
Man he playing Yosenju was pog but without the UR, Yosenju offers nothing too special to a table against Endymion, and then there's the Simorgh with a bunch of URs, sadge for Joseph
I would not blame Dzeef for not fully understanding a pendulum deck, as it takes a while to learn. However, i have to say that these plays are far from optimal, but I'm still happy Doug was able to win.
Damn I was so wrong this game. I really thought Doug would missplay a lot since the pend cards have sooo much text to read, but it was actually MBT who cannot read this game. Props to Doug, you've read more pend cards this game than I have bothered to in my entire life
20:30 The reason Joseph was able to use Yosenjus' Secret Move is because Master Duel has this bug where scaled Pendulum monsters are able to be treated as face up monsters of their name/type for cards that require them. Another example is that you can use Swordsoul Blackout while controlling a scaled Yang Zing Pendulum Monster, targeting it as the Wyrm monster that you destroy on your side of the field.
Okay, maybe the Yosenju Secret Shmove is actually intended to work in an incredibly wacky and unintuitive way and is working as intended. But this bug still exists and is pretty funny.
This video just goes to show how relentless the spell counter mechanic can be to play. Activating mythical institution first could've costed him the game right then and there, and that was just the first move. There's also a lot of other ways to misplay, such as p scaling while already having a mythical beast in the other scale, which can effectively mean you've lost all your pendulum abilities right then and there if you can't move any of them out. Considering it's his first time using the spell counter cards, that just makes it all the more impressive.
I love how Doug always comes up with some elaborate plan to OTK Joseph or Farfa and then everything blows up in his face because he skipped over a single line of text on one card in his entire combo. He is like every YuGiOh player ever, except he's actually good at the game if he reads his cards.
I think a cool rule could be to let u guys dismantle the srs and URs u get from outside of the pack to craft cards u need. Maybe limit it to one ur or sr so it's not too crazy. It just sucks to see a bunch of holos be pulled from outside the pack and be wasted
You guys should make it a rule so that you can keep the SR you use to unlock the pack for your Deck that way if you pull completely unplayable at least you have something
As a lunalight player, the archetype is actually very versatile hard to pilot since there so many small situations, requirement and niches that the card has (example: perfumes name being written wrong and never fixed) that all the misplays were understandable Especially if you never played it So don't worry about it, I'm sure we all cringed on the plays sure but anyone that's mad about it isn't a lunalight player or as dumb
No, it does NOT count as a face up monster. The trap clearly states that you have to control a Yosenju CARD, and that none of your face-up monsters can be Yosenju. Therefore, if you control no monsters, then you are not controlling a face-up monster that is not a Yosenju. That's how it works.
@@crowcoregames1785 True, which covers the need for a Yosenju CARD, but, per game mechanics, a Pendulum monster put in the scale zones is not recognized as a monster while in the zones. This goes for ANY Pendulum monster. So yes, in the scale zone it is considered a Yosenju spell, but not a Yosenju monster.
This was not MBT's day when a "Pendulum" deck battles Endymion. BUT hey, this was fine! A warm up of how "easier" Endymion will be in Junior Journey! HONESTLY... Dzeeff's pulls were too busted! Kudos!
5:04 hold up, Guardian Elma is included in the master Pack? That card is not even summonable without Butterfly Elma beeing legal, so I was certain it'd be Legacy Pack only
I feel like it would be cool to be able to use the SR you craft to unlock the pack. That way you could at least guarantee 1 card in your pulls to increase the chances of being able to actually play the deck
Some of my favourite packs this week! Looking forward to agonizing over bad plays. My money's on Yosen-Simorgh but a lucky Spell Counter player can be pretty spectacular - provided they can read the cards. Edit: Did not see the Spell Counter sweep coming, off the back of MBT being the one to not read his cards. Particularly after Doug botched his combo with the very first card he played.
I don't think Doug should need to apologize. He was playing 2 archetypes that require a decent amount of practice. People forget how little time they have from pulling go playing, and not every archetype is going to be 100% intuitive if you don't have much experience with them.
If Doug pulled some magister of endymion, he could easily sweep the floor considering his pulls. He was lacking lots of high scales, which makes endymion really bricky on format like this
In the end of duel 1, I'm a bit confused why MBT didn't summon hitot and kama, use both effects to bounce both monsters to hand, and attack directly for the win
I still say you should let your opponent choose the card you craft to get into a pack but you then get to keep that card for play. It would not be too powerful or change the series in any real way but it would give both of you 1 more guaranteed SR/UR and your opponent would have knowledge of 1 single card you got
its so refreshing seeing mbt being the one doing the missplays, him not reading that yosen spell card was hilarious
Clearly you dont watch prog playoffs at all
To be fair, Doug was also misplaying, but all he did was miss one or two spell counters
