      Oh trust me a Republic is coming for you guys. And it’s so bizarre that a lot of Conservatives are against that - Why would you want a British individual, who gives you little to no attention, to be your head of State?

    • @welcomeaboard69
      @welcomeaboard69 2 месяца назад

      @govand7 I've said the same thing to them, but they don't seem to get it. I've also gone all patriotic and called for an Australian head of state for our Australian culture and values, but nothing seems to work. I'm frankly lost for words with them because everything they agree with on this point is in conflict with everything else they believe in.

      @@welcomeaboard69 No, but with change things should improve, not get worse. Not everything new is actually progress - as all the majority of change that Australia has experienced over the last 20 odd years has shown.

      @govand7 You maroon, the Brits have absoluely no say in Aus now. The Gov Gen is just a ceremonial office now, he cannot sack the gov't anymore. So why change? Because fascists want to dictate to the majority how they should live. News for you and Rupie, not in your lifetimes that's for sure. Just like their "Voice", it went the way of all bullshit. To quote Acca Dacca, Shot down in flames! Why do you try to attach labels to the commonsense majority, so you can try and make out we are bad? Grow up.

    • @echelon2k8
      @echelon2k8 2 месяца назад +4

      @@govand7 Because the Monarchy is cultural heritage that Australia and elsewhere have maintained right from the beginning of European settlement until the modern day, reaching from colonial times in Australia to more than a hundred years after becoming a country in 1901, and many patriots believe that maintaining their cultural heritage of their nation to be important and worth preserving for future generations. Australia's Governor-General is also Australian. In practice, they are Australia's Head of State as they are The King's representative in Australia.
