- Promotional film for Westinghouse refrigerator line featuring a system of sticker-like decorations enabling purchasers to style their appliances as they choose.
Production Company: Handy (Jam) Organization
Sponsor: Westinghouse Electric Corp.
TCM aired this late night one weekend and I watched this in a half-asleep state. I love it unironically.
This is exactly what I’d going on with be right now. I’m like, what is this? The mini dresses at the end are so cute!
Bless Westinghouse for turning drab, everyday kitchens into the swingin'est room in the whole house!
I always dance in front of my refrigerator while fantasizing about mood matching panels.
I dig that hip rock bass riff and the bluesy keyboard. Right on!
I love everything about this!
Who knew there were "french door" refrigerators in 1965???? Way cool....
LOLOLOLS!!!!!!!!!! this is SO very 60's ^_^ with all the gogo dancing and the psychedelic-looking prints and camera work
i love this!
Lots of very pretty ladies in this 1968 Match Your Mood promotional film, P.S. I love the groovy music and the Westinghouse refrigerator systems!!
Wow.... if I had one of these appliances, I'd change it practically every other week!
People just don't have enough fun with their kitchens any more. I would totally go for this.
Hear, hear! I’m getting awfully bored with the stainless steel fridge in this house.
I use this to play 'stump my co-workers' but putting on pic part only and letting them guess where this is going! Love this!
Must be interesting. At first the woman wandering around in the woods makes you wonder if this is going to be one of those situations where she has that "not-so-fresh feeling."
Groovy music!!👊
To use the vernacular of the period -- "Groovy music! That's real now!" ✌️
Me too, I love this music! I wish there was some way I could download just the music. I enjoy collecting obscure, unusual, advertising-based tunes which usually get no listens at all after a few years. This "forgotten" music should be preserved. I suppose, however, this was probably music which was composed specifically for this advert, and is probably unavailable.
Or, how do we make refrigerators hip? What a trip! Just saw this run between features on TCM. Thanks for posting this.
what a fun video - i love how the girls are dancing through the whole thing .. funny , ty for the upload :)
Groovy! Until you spot the air bubble trapped underneath the contact paper.
I actually saw this on TCM before an interesting movie called Ten Violent Women about two weeks ago. Still, this is a rather groovy sales pitch film.
Just caught the last half of this on TCM, hence why I'm here!
Chris Mijares me too!!! LOL!
me THREE-- Apr. 21, 2022!
Me five, too good not to share with friends and family.
Beats the hell out of stainless steel. (Can you imagine wearing a stainless steel mini skirt and go-go boots?)
That incredible party music that kicks in at 2:43 is "Rhythm N' Beat" by Johnny Hawksworth. I just happened upon it while listening to the KPM music library, as one does.
That’s Cher’s eyes at 1:41 !! 😻😻😻
Seems like she might have taken the wrong meds before decorating the kitchen. Something unique about wallpapering your refrigerator while dancing.
DEVO brought me there!
This is hilarious! LOVE IT!
I am going to see if I can find my ancient comment I made on the old account. My first truly favorite RUclips video.
I'm so glad I was only 4 that year. I have no regrets as to my clothing, hair or decor.
I feel like I’ve gotten the equivalent of a whole mother’s little helper just watching this film.
They don’t tend to make anyone dance…just relaxing on the couch.
That was called, too much time on your hands in the 60s
the third " movement"(song) where the groovy party begins is from Kpm, Johnny Hawksworth called 'Rhythm and Beat'. I am trying to discover the first two songs
"You can be sure if it's Westinghouse."
Yes, but sure of what?
Groovy, babe. Far out.
I think Austin Powers would approve of this ad.
Who knew your fridge could be so groovy!
Where is this refrigerator sold? All my parties are centered around my fridge, I'd love to dress it up!!
The way we would do it today is with vinyl wraps, like used on cars. www.amazon.com/refrigerator-wraps/s?k=refrigerator+wraps
Love this short. Too bad it's faded.
Oh, God! *** Paisley! *** AAAaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!
It will surely produce better and less tragic results if you choose not to dance while measuring or using scissors.
Hair spray and Avon, Old spice and Aqua Velva, Cigarettes and butter everyday.
it makes my plain generic white fridge look rather sad.
It’s New Years Eve! Dance faster!
Was this an in house ad? I dont remember commercials this long then
This likely is a sales film more than a commercial.
Hilarious!
LOL, they're not now. At my age cool is no longer a factor. Clean, acceptable in all situations, fits you. That's all that matters :D
Not your Mother's fridge!
Your hair, clothing or decor of today wont be too cool in ten years time.
who is the blonde, Guess about 80
I know that this is suppose to be a film about refrigerators, but just off the record, is it alright if I take some of these gorgeously hot honeys home...I mean, with me? Okay, okay, I was just asking!
Sure, you can take any of those "honeys" home...they are now 73 years old and would love to go home with you! Just give 'em a call!
Twas tacky times
Well that's exactly what they will say about this generation in 20 or 30 years...
