Porsche has refreshed the entire Cayenne line for 2024, including some exterior tweaks, a new interior layout, and, in the case of the warp speed Turbo GT variant, even more power and even better handling. The performance of this SUV is simply mind bending, and they are selling like crazy - but to who?
Porsche provided the vehicle, insurance, and a tank of gas for this review.

The New Cayenne Turbo GT Is the Sportiest Utility Vehicle - But Who's it For? - TheSmokingTire

One of my bosses just bought one of these. If I keep doing a great job at work he’ll get something just as cool next year too.
Your boss likely started out like you…..keep working hard!
Strange outlook 😅
facts. that bastard. lol.!
Damn this really hit hard. Reality is b word man 😂
Please get back to work.
Great new format! Seems much more editing intensive but the final product is with it. Well done!
Props for watch colour matching with the black mustard blooms
to be honest its for me 39 father of 2 construction worker who would rather drive the beautiful Porche cayenne turbo GT then a Cadillac, truck or van when I take out my family I owned a 2010 VW Touareg with a V8 I would have so much fun driving in the mountains even though it weighs more 4k lbs. it hook on curves and sounded great with that V8 this Cayenne would be great to have for me to have
Since we can’t buy it with roof rails 😂😂….
I like the cuts back and forth with Matt and Zach driving and giving impressions back to back. Never gonna be late to soccer practice in this beast
Same, great editing, makes a lengthy video enjoyable, and not boring.
Its like the throttle house
I really enjoy this review format. It’s very cohesive and entertaining to follow along. Great job guys.
I swear everyone is saying the word cohesive these days lmao
@@eBlack996 ok
I'd like to see James Hoffmann take a ride along with TST.
Yes please!
Whaaat
Ha just found about that guy last week. Watched his 2007 Batista world championship video lol
Not the collab we deserve, but the one we need.
I'm sure he wouldn't mind reviewing a coffee in a ride along special
I always skip in-video sponsor ads, but you had my heart strings at coffee…. AeroPress is about to get a new consumer. 😍
I’ve owned one for a few months. It’s great. Equally as fast as keurig but better tasting.
Aeropress is legit
I actually bought one because of Matt about 5 years ago and I have used it almost every day since. Great product
@@iancole85 ditto
damnit...now I have to get one.
Love to see Zack more integrated into reviewing together with Matt. The format works.
I guess we have the podcast to get them interacting together but I much preferred when they talked together in the car to this scripted format.
It's not the format, it's the execution that makes it feel like a cheap infomercial.
@@TheBucketOfTruth personally, I think the whole show sucks now, especially with that dude Zach making even more of an appearance.
Was a much better show when it was just Matt and either a sheet of hand written researched paper, or, himself and potentially an owner of a car with those "one takes" (the two takes were garbage, because again, Zach, dude can't even drive a manual transmission properly).
Don't understand how people are claiming this is somehow better than what it used to be just a short time ago when I first stumbled across this channel, all I know is it's fallen off hard and I'm unsubbing from this weird stuff....I mean, Matt used to do research, now he literally just complained that his ass was sweaty because "The Turbo GT doesn't come with ventilated seats".... when it's literally been an option since the first generation, and it's an option due to the seat centers being racetex standard and you having to option "off" the racetex for the leather centers with the ventilation....but it's too much to research even though this is quite possibly the easiest and potentially best "job" to have with the least amount of work needed to do it.... manufacturers hand you a new car, you drive the hell outta it, and make bank making false claims about it not being able to be had with seat ventilation and your ass gets slightly sweaty because the AC controls are too far from your reach to bother.
I actually bought an aero press because of TST a long time ago. It’s kinda nice for camping but always feels like weak coffee
Grind finer and agitate!
I love my aeropress - dito on fine grind.
Grind the coffee finer and let it brew a little longer
Zack’s editing is really gone to a different level. Great writing, great package overall. Well done and thank you for the entertainment.
It's really not that good; the voiceovers and the music sound quite cheap, the segments feel a bit forced onto each other.
As editing and screenplay goes, it's actually fairly bad.
@@horsterer77 shut up
@@horsterer77 can't wait to see your review of the Cayenne Turbo GT that shows us what good editing and screenplay looks like!!
@@alvin.holbrook That's not quite how arguments work.
I disagree. There's almost zero footage of the actual road, which is what I think most of us want to see from this channel. It gives the viewer the vicarious feeling of driving the car or at the very least being along for the ride. This was just the camera on two guys talking.
They messed up not giving the option of having a moonroof or sunroof. Carbon fiber roof great but after a while, you get clostrophobic. I am not sure why the fenders couldn't be painted instead of the plastic. Everything else looks amazing, King of the Suvs.
At 1:17 it shows a 992. Not much you can do about that now, but it's just a funny example of porsche even confusing the experts sometimes.
True, great catch.
God damnit. My fault.- ZK
Laziest designers in the business. 😂
I really like this suv. I myself ordered a 2022 Cayenne GTS Coupe with almost all the options. The final price was $187K. I do not regret a single dollar spent on it. It doesn’t have 600+ HP, but it’s got enough, and I could always tune it if I want to, cause it has the same engine, and the same turbos as the Turbo GT. Porsche designed a well Balanced car between luxury and sport.
So far, after 6,000 miles, this car is a keeper far a while.
Great video Matt. Keep content coming !!🔥👍👍
@ItsCoolToBeKind291 Isn’t it amazing we live in a world where people can spend their own money on what they want, when they want?
Digging the Aeropress! TST podcast introduced me to it years ago after the Panama trip. Never going back
Whos it for? Its for me. I dont need an SUV but I live in CO and Id like a little bit of ground clearance for snow, dirt roads for when I go shooting, huge ceramic brakes for the 5% grade of Floyd Hill and LOTS of HP for passing 18 wheelers on the Vail Pass (10,666ft).
Precisely why I have a Cayenne Turbo. I can tow a 7500lb boat, drive it on the beach, down logging trails for hunting, & the speed & handling actually frighten most passengers. My one vehicle that can actually do it all.
Love this format of going back and forth between Matt and Zach as they provide us with their comments and observations as their driving. TST continues to deliver awesomeness. Thanks guys.
Never reviewed a Stelvio, but review every unobtainable, unavailable and overpriced Porsche. Saw an couple in their 60s test driving a $200k used Cayenne in Boston. Says it all
It really is an answer to a question that nobody asked.
It’s the ultimate utilitarian vehicle. As someone who owns sports cars, and trucks, I have always been a “right tool for the job” kinda guy. I think I’ve always been that way because the most versatile vehicles seem to compromise in every direction. While this isn’t the best at anything, it doesn’t feel like it compromises. It’s REALLY fast. It handles REALLY well. It’s comfortable. You can take your friends or family with you. It looks great. You can put a lot of stuff in it. You can drive it in the snow, easily. It’s an amazing vehicle, and sooo much more attractive than a Urus!
Still loving this format, keep it up guys! The extra effort definitely makes for a better watching experience.
To me the first gen is the best looking one.
Bold statement
I selected and bought 1st generation in may 👍
I think the taillights look better on the older one, especially the clear one!
Which would you get for the most fun driving in Southern California. I like decker canyon and some of the other mountain roads. Choices are Cayanne Turbo GT , Taycan Turbo S or Cross Turismo Turbo s .
Thanks..
This was more of a straightforward review of the Turbo GT. I wish it focused on answering the question it posed, on whether the refresh was successful for the Cayenne line. For example, I wanted to know if the headlights are noticeably better.
Love the bronze rims and the yellow calipers but I feel like they kind of clash
I’m sorry but the complaints made in this video aren’t actually complaints. More so personal preferences
i will always feel like wagons are still much better for all arounders cause there's less physics to get over for performance, but it's seriously crazy what porsche is able to do.
Dude, don't give them any ideas- "Vomit resistant coating" --$2800. That things already loaded, its got the optional "clear glass" - "black tires"- "reflective mirrors"- and of course, the "smoker package" (cigarette lighter optional- $149.)
Matt looks at home in this car. Should get one.
I think its for those corrupt businessmen in 3rd world countries that make 10x the average salary and want to buy a 911 but the roads are so bad the 911 would get all 4 of its wheels and the oilpan cracked open in a pothole the first day he goes for a drive on the best street in town
a pretty nice coffin for a mook mf that wont know their ass from their neck when driving this and cutting lanes cant wait to out corner them in the on/off ramp as i watch them play GTA jump
I like this AeroPress video. Cool that you get to see some car content between them.
How nice to share some clips of a Porsche while they tell us about coffee 😂
I have a 2024 and I LOVE IT...I am one of those people who "need" one...
Liked the cohesiveness of this review but could have used more POV driving shots than those focusing on Matt or Zach in the car. Especially in a car that mobs like this!
You guys crushed it with this video. Really nice job : )
I'm sure the 80 treadwear tires are doing a lot of the work lmao
RIP front tires
If you're going to buy a Porsche UrusQ8, this is probably the variant to get. The true flex would be getting and debadging it so no one's the wiser.
Forget about the "Urus", dude. Everybody knows, that Porsche and Audi are the originators of this fantastic 4 liter V8 engine.
Lamborghini is just a customer of this engine and has got only the older version of this V8 engine so far. Porsche is in leadership of developing the finest technologies for high performance SUVs in the VW group. Lamborghini has absolutely NOTHING for the Urus, which would be superior to the new Cayenne Turbo GT.
The Lamborghini Urus would be eaten up by the new (facelifted) Cayenne Turbo GT.
@@Porsche1969 we're not disagreeing...
Whilst I always enjoyed the old format videos, you guys are killing it with the new stuff. 🔥🔥🔥 Great car. Great review. 👍🏼
Love the modern retro vibe of your kitchen! The green upper cabinets and the backsplash is nicely done 👍
commercial in the middle. instant dislike.
PORSCHE IS THE GREATEST, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE
Its so unfair we dont get this in Germany, i mean its a goddam german engineered car!!
It is impressive how capable it is; I just wish it didn’t look so vulgar.
Seems like they were getting prettier and now going backwards. From end is odd.
I have to disagree in that Porsche has always been performance first, and luxury second. And this is even more prevalent with their GT cars. So if you want 18 way cooled seats with lumbar control, you simply just option them 😉
Is it different enough from the old one? Would someone trade in their gen 1 to this gen 2 given the price bracket people don’t care money as much on these sort of thing?
18:13 'do it all car' argument doesn't work for this. far out zack.
You can only get it in the coupe' and it has 4 seats. Its less practical than a god damn golf.
it doesn't even come with a tow hook, i don't even know if you can spec one
Same 0-60 reported as the ‘22/23 models. Porsche also still claims the same quarter-mile in 11.1 for the 2024. We all know they lie terribly. They claimed 631 hp for the 2023 model and people are Dyno testing them in the high 680s. I have a 23 and there is definitely a leap from comfort to sport, and in sport plus there is another considerable change. The sport mode is very coarse except on well groomed roads. The handling and power is everything you expect from a factory track car from Porsche. The car simply defies physics. And, it’s not a sensation of drifting. The car is very easy to drift, but is very predictable.
You are wrong Sir. The Turbo GT is a performance car that is made comfortable. Looking from the outside in….That is what it is. This is PORSCHE. Everything is performance first. C’mon Man. This is why their products cost so much because you pay for the engineering and the comfort features are Add-ons. I can’t believe you said that.
This car is 100% not made for me but it’s ridiculous, my mom just bought a brand new 2023 Audi q5 and that thing has honestly more then enough power for 95% of drivers so why buy something like this ? Well cause you can 😅 🤷🏽♂️
From what I know, you can get the 18-way sport seats for free as an alternative to the lightweight 8-way seats. Those can be cooled :)
I doubt buyers of this are shopping for value, but a Macan GTS (at only 0.5 seconds slower to 60 mph in Car and Driver's testing) will get you 90% of this experience, at 50% of the price.
This format really disrupts the flow of the video.. the sudden changes between the two, the middle sponsorbit, i dont know...
Not my thing , but still an amazing review on an amazing car!
🙏👌
Just get advertisers to stamp removable tattoos on your foreheads... Since there's no limit and you guys are just doing what everyone is doing...
Is there a limit though.? Or as much as the system asks in ads, you'll oblige.
I know criticism is sacrilege on the 'internet' .. but I'm going against the grain...
Looks like a bloated hatchback.
Porsche needs a serious refresh design on this vehicle, especially considering the ridiculous MRSP. Aston Martin DBX puts to shame the styling of this Cayenne.
Big Man's 911 ... I cant hope to fit in a 911 or Panamera and I can carry things and comfortably fit other adults. Plus you have ability to raise up if it floods. It does it all and does it well
There’s a huge amount of glare on the console from the passenger side camera. Maybe the reviewers experienced no glare, but they also didn’t experience a wide range of weather conditions. It’s a terrible ergonomic design decision and looks stupid.
The dash looks horrible. Hopefully Porsche attracts a new audience, because they’re definitely ostracizing their core customers.
I agree Cayenne should be the big boy, they really really should not strip away the space and practicality off , there are other models for it this should be above 5000 lb to remain a write off, cmon
I know Matt and Zack love Porsche, but these are started to feel less objective and more just like an extension of marketing. I’ve driven these cars and they are cool but they’re trying to be too many things and they are not good at all of them, and I think there needs to be more honestly about that.
Faster than a GT-R around the Ring. Let that sink in for a while.
Long time viewer, love the content. I’ve seen a lot of positive feedback on the new format, but honestly I miss the old videos. Loved seeing a one take POV drive with commentary over it, but will watch no matter what👌
Hmm uncomfortable seats makes this a 'no' for me. Thankfully I don't have the money otherwise I'd be tempted.
Abusing viewers with coffee long intro! Thumbnail Q caught attention, great video of Cayenne!
How is the ride comfort? The roads you are driving on don't look that bad and you look like you are really bouncing around in the seat.
Jokes aside, this is really only for those that can afford it. Most people can barely afford a home for this price tag.
I think if you want a high horsepower SUV you buy a jeep grand Cherokee SRT track hawk it can still tow it can still haul it’s got plenty a room and it’s fast as hell.
People who buy the turbo GT don’t buy it for the horsepower because it’s absolutely not the most powerful ( trackhawck, DBX707, urus performante are more powerful) but to have the most performing SUV ( acceleration, braking but above all the dynamic capacities )
Sorry already bought an Aeropress off your recommendation years ago and haven't made coffee any other way since.
It’s one of these sitting in Charlotte right now and it’s not selling u know why no sunroof, nobody wanna spend this much money on a car with no sunroof
I don’t understand the shock of the testers on the performance of the Cayenne. It is German engineering. German engineering put us on the moon.
i guess im the only one that doesnt like the weird cuts. the way you guys changed the way you speak too seems like you guys went to some weekend acting course.
Great video! Although Matt’s misuse of the word binnacle is annoying.
Whose it for..? LOL. The rich guys that can afford it.! There you go answered..! 🤭
Just can’t get over how bad the grill is on the Cayenne. Looks to me like a massive part is missing
If someone says they want a better looking X6M, they should look at this bad larry.
Dear Porsche,
Please can you also make a Panamera Turbo GT.
Best regards
Al
Let’s not pretend this is anything other than a pissing contest between engineers. No one asked for this or needs it.
disagree wholeheartedly with the characterization of bmw but Im biased
These have been butt-ugly since day one and it still looks absolutely awful.
sure, the Turbo GT is nice but can we take a moment to appreciate Matt's kitchen?
Drive that next time with four people please and thank you. MJ
I kinda want one too. I feel that it’s less about practicality and more about sharing a 992 like experience with more than one person. Putting snow tires on it to take 3 besties skiing will require a support vehicle…and never mind…
Love the video!!!
great episode..great review..great editing and planning to do this type of shoot..love it
I wouldn't worry about parking this anywhere, nope.
I’m tired of the push for screens that literally cover the entire dash
aero press,, and it's plastic ( plastic and hot water don't mix )
I wouldn't buy one purely because of the rear wings.
Just wanted to chime in and say that I really like the new format. I have really enjoyed these new videos!
How many commercials would you like in your content? YES
I woulda just liked this video just for the aeropress.
I've been waiting for this one 👍💯
i want that "Famous Racing Driver" mug
Tbh I love you guys reviewing the cars side by side but either way love the channel
Love what you do but Porsche suvs are offensive
I love driving it for long distance traveling!
Am I the only one that hates the new format of video?
shit that turned into a cooking show for a min lmao
Cayenne turbo gt is not faster than me skipping matts ads
