I was a sophomore in college when I first started looking into Orthodoxy. I visited a nearby parish and someone there led OCF at Kent State. He invited me to come along when they visited this monastery for an OCF retreat. It was such a beautiful day and experience. I wonder if "Christphora" is her name given to her at birth or the name that was assigned to her? I have never heard that name before. But Mother Christophora is very wise. I enjoy listening to her. I have never been that religious, but i like listening to her
Yes, there’s a connection between the two monasteries. They are both affiliated with the Romanian Diocese of the OCA and I think Holy Transfiguration helped start Dormition monastery.

New name is given to the monastic when they are tonsured. Christophora is most likely the female name version of St Christopher.
