Why are they showing prisoners with long sleeves and sweaters? Can’t be that hot.
And if you were worried about safety you wouldn’t be there. Don’t go back!

I lived just fine in Iraq for almost a year, in full battle rattle, with zero AC back in 2003. Give them plenty of water, some shade, and time to reflect... they will be fine.

Honestly I have family in Angola but no matter who or what you should not be confortable especially more than the elderly or babies on these streets. When in jail it is what it is ..

Ok well release them to suffer like elderly? I'm sorry but no building should be overheated unless we accept cruel and unusual punishment in our country. But the 14 amendment doesn't allow it

Louisiana cannot build torture chambers. We all have a right to cool to keep housing livable. First the state landlord, and then all landlords.

That’s actually a really good idea Angola already has a inmate program where inmates who have a short time until release can learn to work on cars so they can find work when they’re released so they could make an HVAC program as well tbh if I were you I’d try to contact someone in the DOC about it

You want them to have A/C? Why don't you pay for it? Everyone at Angola was convicted of a serious felony. They almost all have lengthy criminal histories. Nobody goes to Angola for a first offense. You want to take care of them, go right ahead.

104° can induce seizure and then quickly brain death in,most cases, ependjng on vunerability.
How survival is going on at the reported temperature is,I don't know, but there will be long term damage.
And over time in some cases death from prolonged heat damage to both kidneys, liver, and immune system.
Should be interesting to hear how many will die this year compared to former years.
But I doubt you'll hear about it.
