I imagine that also the "depth" (?) of the body of the acoustic guitar plays a bigger role in terms of sound and volume than the price of the instrument (if both are well constructed?) :D As for the electrical.. well no comment ;-) Amazing players!
Emil is probably *the* best finger style guitarist in all of Sweden and Lucas is very, very good also. Even highly skilled players wouldn't make those guitars sound nearly as good lol
@@morilot It could have better electronics, but it doesn't. It takes a lot of skill to build them and absolutely insane amounts of money to compete with the established brands. They don't have any real competing pressure to make guitars both cheap and great, when cheap and decent will give more profits. Then there's also the fact that guitars with that type of price will be the ones whose maker was a master luthier and the instrument itself likely being one of the best they ever made.

Years ago, I made a first trip to Sweden. I had the feeling that Gothenburg was not pronounced as it was spelled, so I asked my German friends how it should be spoken. They proved wrong. How could it be "Yet-a-buuri"? I feel the same way after watching these videos. What I think I know is almost always wrong. It leads one to despair, yet I find amusement and inspiration in my defeat with these brilliant presentations. Wonderful!
What an epic collaboration! My two favorite RUclipsrs together ❤️. I rarely notice the difference between instruments on a cell phone, but the Ibanez sounds like a shoebox compared to the Santa Cruz😄. Of course, in the hands of Emil, the shoe box also sounds fantastic👍! And please.. don't tell me that in the end this was a real improvisation🙏😉
Lucas: keep posting videos. I’m an old professional guitarist but appreciate young guys with incredible talent. Both my wife and I try to promote you every chance we get because we know that your account is monetized.
The 1957 is super expensive because of the age and hype. Would be fun to try the same thing with a brand new Les Paul Modern, or even a Studio. 5:00 Maybe its just me - but it says fretless?
The ‘57 very clearly needs a refret. You can hear it buzzing. This is common especially with the super low frets they used on these. I have a ‘56 that looks just like that one. It was unplayable when I got it. After a refret, it’s a much better instrument. No comparison. Is it worth the huge price difference? If you are only buying it as a gigging instrument, no. These are Vintage guitars that derive their value from their collectibility rather than quality/sound. Nevertheless, I can honestly say it’s the best playing and sounding guitar I own. I didn’t pay that much for it either.
I have an RTL55. Had the frets given a good levelling/dressing at a luthier, put some locking vintage style tuners on, Oil City master wound P90s and it's absolutely superb. Cost me about £500 all in. Even if I had the money I wouldn't buy the Gibson. I'd rather have a luthier build me an electric and an acoustic to my spec and taste, and still have tens of thousands left in my pocket.
I've been playing for 25 years. And still learning. As with any instrument it takes devotion. I will pay anything. I don't care if it's $10 or $10,000.
I think one cannot hear the difference in price, but definitely difference in frequency spectrum output. The thing is: who is looking for what. Sometimes you can find some sound without really going crazy about the price...
The sound is one aspect but the playability, look, and longevity are another. The cost difference is in materials, attention to details, mechanical bits and the smaller market for an expensive instrument. Obviously, this doesn't apply to vintage collectibles. The Les Paul needed some work but was priced as an antique not on the playability. All this to say that when you pick up most cheap guitars your hands and eyes will know the difference right away.
2:34 Santa Cruz guitar on the head key tuner there is a MARTENITSA - Red with white thread (Every year on 1st of March, Bulgarian people celebrate a centuries-old tradition called the day of Baba Marta (baba means ‘Grandma’ and Marta means ‘March’), related to sending off the winter and welcoming the approaching spring). In fact, all guitars have them
I’ve never heard you play anything like this but I would be so curious to hear you play something like Mexican corridos tumbados by someone like junior h, natanelo cano or chino pacas just as some examples. Best wishes and as always I look forward to the next amazing thing you put out
Great video, loved to see Emil and Lucas, two amazing musicians, together. 😊 Also, does anyone know what song is playing during 1:39? I'm pretty unknowledgeable and new to guitar.
I think at this level of playing the guitar itself isn´t making a big difference anymore. btw the comparison was not really fair since the 57 Gibson has it´s value because of rarity rather than playability.. but anyway great content I really enjoyed the casual presentation.
I really couldn't tell the difference in sound etc. I wanted Lucas to pick the affordable guitar and he did. If I had choice of the two guitars I would pick the Gibson, however, if it was paying there's no way i would pay £45,000ish for a guitar.

Proof that the player matters more than the guitar
I was going to say the same.

Also that tech get cheaper with time.
A new guitar at $600 probably got better electronics than that $45.000 from the 70s.

I got the ad, "Do you want to play like Metallica?"
No, I want to play like Lucas and Emil!
same
A testament to how good mid range guitars have become.
The fun-meter is peaking!! Always an absolute pleasure to hang out Lucas!! 🎶you’re the best!
Love your playing Emil. I'll be binging your videos in November looking to learn another of your Christmas songs!
genuinely preferring the less expensive guitar is not a failure, but a paramount success!
2 really excellent guitarists who make my playing feel like rubbish ...More please !!
don't compare please, you are you. Be happy this way! and if u want improvements just try to practice when u have some time.

Lucas, would you please consider posting the entire jam session uncut? I would so much love to listen to it
Thank you D’Addario for supporting these two wonderful artists!
That was not a jam, that was a GEM!!💎
First two guitars have a clear difference in clarity, looking forward to the rest as we speak
Mic + positioning might also play a factor
Damn Lucas AND Emil!? 2 very different style and both very pleasing to thine ears!

Playing with a blindfold is harder than looks
Thanks Lucas for your joyful spirit that comes through the music. 🥳
Lucas where are you? You ok?
No vids in MONTHS now. Should we send flowers?
Great vid! I liked how the jam was playing in the back while you guys were talking :)
That jam at the end was fire 🔥
Come back, bro, we all need your music
I love the honesty! I could have sworn the test was just for show but I was wrong.
Amazing guitar skills

YOU GUYS are incredible in this field, says a hobby: bass/guitarplayer.
Subbed
If you cant hear the difference between a cheap guitar and a nice one GREAT! Buy the cheap one and save the nice guitar for some one who CAN!
Two of the best and crazy players in the same Video! MORE!
Make an Album, for goodness sake👀
Im savarez guy myself but its soo cool that you guys are sponsored
Two guys having fun great double act more please thanks and brilliant playing of course 👏🏼👏🏼
Imagine walking into a small guitar shop and see these two. The combined guitar power in that shop could probably defeat a country!! 😂

Wow, absolutely love this
14's? That man plays that fluidly and easily with 14's? Crazy talent and beautiful sound.
IBanez AC340 is an exellent guitar in the price range, even comparable to the famous Yamaha FS830

Very Nice Video as always. 🙋♂️🎹
You guys are freaks man. Should do more colabs if you can
Some golden guitar playing here
Simply wonderful no matter what the guitar.
My man is swinging hard! Got me grinning like a fool!
Amazing, what a great video. The Jam session at the end was out-of-this-world
Discovered this, long ago.>bought many cheap guitars. Occasional guitar snob coming by: " ..What wood is that .?" .." Plywood," I’d reply . .(for a laminate). 😊
It's not necessarily a failure if you enjoy playing one guitar over another! Beauty is subjective, of course.
Where are you? We miss you bro :(
Nice change for a change Lucas❤
Too much talent in one Collab!
i would be very happy if you play Take Five, with some extras added by your genious soul.
I've been playing for 25 years. And still learning. As with any instrument it takes devotion. I will pay anything. I don't care if it's $10 or $10,000.
Amazing jam
Been a long long time since you updated your last content
1:40 Chet Atkins (Fingerpicking)
Love their strings as well. NYXL
Where is Lucas?
Why would anyone think a 1957 electric guitar would even compare to a modern average guitar?
great sounds guys
As far as cool videos go on RUclips these days, this one is on the top. Thanks guys 😊.

Come back Lucas ❤

The comparison was interesting, but the playing was fabulous.
Great energy between you tow, a pleasure to watch
Hey man, we miss your videos! 🙌
Perfect guitarists
It's an electric instrument, only the magnet matters for the sound
Guitars are simple devices and only a few things determine their quality. None of these things are particularly difficult to do or expensive to make.

Great music! I almost forgot about the Les Pauls in the end.
Really loved the jam session at the end. That was awesome and made my day. Thanks guys. Great video as always.
One should expect modern guitars to be better made with improvements at lower prices, but old guitars are cool.
I’m loving it.
I love love love Santa Cruz guitars.

bravo!
Revelation does make some great guitars. I've got one of their semi-hollows and really like it
They are look like soulmate
Step 1: play the guitar really well. Step 2: anything you want, price doesn't matter anymore.

No Stairway.. denied!
i use these *checks the package*
One man should not hold all this power while blindfolded.😄
It would be interesting to see you do an arrangement of classical gas.
