That would suck having tickets for Led Zeppelin and then Bonzo dies. Cool that Denis still has the ticket, should have been the thumbnail for this episode 🤘

I still think about it every time a Zep song plays on the radio or anywhere - I can still watch the song remains the same concert movie and get the buzz but man oh man - what a burnn

Ralphus had 2 of mine. I was at that Death show and totally stoked to see pestilence only to be disappointed and till this day I have never seen them. But the show also had Carcass, and Suffocation on the bill so still an awesome night.
The other was the napalm death show. Word was going around that Godflesh’s drum machine was broken or something. I think they played most of the street cleaner album between bands. I do not recall who else played that show. Probably suffocation. They were like the first band on all the death metal shows in Long Island at that time 😀
I still have never seen godflesh

Mine was that I was after getting into Dio for a few years back around 2006 when he was doing his reunion with Sabbath. I never heard of him before then but instantly became a fan after looking up some of his stuff after reading about the reunion in maybe classic rock magazine. I went back and listened to rainbow and his solo stuff also. Long story short I was going to see my favourite band maiden for about my 4th time, it was 2010 , I was delighted to see that heaven and hell were opening for them and I was more looking forward to seeing Dio live than maiden. I had the ticket bought and low and behold Ronnie got sick and died so it never happened. I did go see maiden obviously but just missed my golden opportunity to see and hear the legendary Sabbath with the legendary Ronnie James Dio. I still look at that ticket sometimes and think about what nearly was.

I started going to shows when I was 13. I had a few let downs that still piss me off 😂😂😂 Iron Maiden was supposed to come to my city for 7th Son tour then cancelled. I had a free tix for Ozzy & Anthrax Dec 1988. Came home from school and feel asleep. No one was home so my friends couldn’t get me up.

1986 me and a bunch of friends had tickets to see Metallica open for Ozzy; show was cancelled because Ozzy had a sore throat. Cliff passed a few months later so never got to see him live.

I had tickets for Trouble on The Simple Mind Condition tour at the Chance in Poughkeepsie. I bought the tickets from Ticketmaster but it was never made official by the band. Drove two hours to arrive to an empty parking lot. Man I was pissed 😡

i was on a vacation in Niagra Falls in the 80s on the Canadian side . We were hanging at a record shop and found out that Dio was playing in Toronto at the baseball stadium where the Bluejays play . little did we know that it was the canadian national exhibition and an air show all going on at once . We had a miserable time finding a place to park and thought that someone would break into our car and steal our luggage . so we left and sold our tickets . We heard the soundcheck at least . the killer thing was we could not find a motel anywhere in Niagara and ended up driving al the way to a friends in Syracuse ny . crazy story

Corrosion of Conformity headlining would have been better than seeing them open for Metallica anyway. Be glad that was your first show!

Oh, I don't regret that being my first gig at all... it's just, being a young dude, loving both C.O.C. and Metallica, and getting fucked out of going really hurt... especially from my sister.
