I know as a 31 year old I shouldn't cry about this, but it hits a spot. This show is one of the reasons I got a GSD, I called him Rex too. He might not be like Rex in the show, but he's still my buddy and hero.

I'll never forget the first time I watched this when it came on TV. I cried my eyes out. I still avoid watching this episode because it's so heartbreaking.
That part where Rex looks at his master's killer, and the end when he wants Moser to play with him, is just so sad

It's incredibly sad when he goes with his toy and tries to make him play with him. Real, real sad. I cried so much every time I watched this episode.
But I never understood why Rex just stared his killer but didn't attack him in any way.

Oh damn. J'ai pleuré quand j'étais petit et juste regarder la scène de nouveau, les larmes me coulent sur les joues.
No paro de llorar al ver la fidelidad y el amor infinito que tiene estos animalitos con los seres humanos. Son lo más maravilloso que existe

The saddest moment scene i have ever watched on TV! When the bad guy kills Moser and Rex is calling him to wake up but when Rex realise that his protector, best friend , colleague is NOT going to wake up and turns and watch the killer he express his sadness ,his disappointment, his PAIN and after when he was calling him at the hospital with his toy but when Rex realise that it's NOT going to wake his friend he just go besides him and just watch him! That's the proof that animals are loyal to people! I cried like i have never ever cry before! That dog express his feelings way more than people usually do! That's why I prefer to deal with animals than people!

Moser était l'inspecteur que j'ai le plus adoré depuis le début de la serie

I cried when i watched it as a child..I am crying today after watching it again. I loved Moser so much. It was never the same after that. My first heartbreak. 😢 I cried in front of my whole family back then. Large and uncontrollable sobs😭
Me too man. And we, as a family, had german shepard at that time, called Neron, he was same as Rex... After he died, we stopped celebrateing chrismas for couple of years and then all together it was over. He died day before Chrismass:/

Je me souviens c'était en 2005 la première fois que j'avais vue cette épisode de voir ce pauvre rex qui était si triste et qu'il ne verrai plus Moser ça m'avait effondré je suis allé plus dans un endroit tellement que moi aussi j'étais effondré vraiment j'en n'ai encore des larmes et des frissons de revoir cette extrait vraiment.
Perhaps because he looked into Rex's eyes and saw true emotion and love that one can feel for another.. something he himself has never experienced.
Yes, he himself wanted to stay in the asylum where he felt good (he painted, he took his medication...) so he knew he was dangerous for himself and society, but his mother didn't understand anything. What touched me was when Richard collapsed after the last bullet, the killer froze and when he saw Rex's sad reaction, I thought I saw tears welling up in his eyes. before he shoots himself in the head. For me, this reaction and his awareness of wanting to stay away from people because of his dangerousness show that he had not lost all his humanity. All of that is partly the fault of his selfish and violent mother, but also of the doctors who shouldn't have let him out like that.

Tobias Moretti est un excellent Acteur et depuis la série Rex il à tourner beaucoup de films et que l'on ne verra sans doute jamais en france hélas !!!!!

i remember this when i was kid! it scathed me! I remember saying to myself why?? cause he was wearing bulletproof vest! I couldn't believe it and i didn't want to believe it. It was my favorite series and he was something like an idol for me because of his skills and for his love to Rex in a significant part of my childhood! I couldn't see the series in the same way again!

I started watching this series only recently but this scene broke my heart. I was such a fan of Moser and his relationship with Rex. I'm still watching the show with the new detective but will always miss Richard Moser and how he was like a father to Rex.

Un méchant qui malgré le mal qu'il avait fait avait lutté contre ses démons en voulant à tout prix rester à l'asile où il était vraiment heureux et où il savait qu'à cet endroit il ne représentait plus de danger pour les autres. Tout ça à cause de médecins inconscients et d'une mère égoïste.

Oui, sauf que Richard est policier et suit avant tout le chemin du devoir et doit sauver toutes les personnes, même au prix de sa propre vie.

I have never been able to watch this scene, when i was a child till now in 2019, i always skip this scene and the one at hospital, i cant control my tears. We have to applaud Reginald though for his acting. RIP our beloved doggy.

Дык сериал то по сути криминальный)) Такие дела бывали, что атас) Это в детстве казался милым сериалом про собачку и ее хозяина. Более семейным сериал уже в последних сезонах стал, когда там ребенка подключили как героя.
Вообще Моретти скорее всего сниматься надоело просто) а режиссеры злопамятные, не всегда красиво завершают историю)
