Jaguar xj6 clock display repair

- Megpróbáltam megjavítani a Jaguár óráját. Az eredmény nem lett tökéletes, de jobb mint volt.
I tried to repair the clock display in my '96 Jag. The result isn't perfect, but better then it was.

I did the repair today using your guidance which was "right on"! I had no problems whatsoever! I think it was smart to use the marker before removing the "old" ribbon to make sure the "new" ribbon is aligned correctly. The new ribbon has adhesion to hold it in place until you apply the heat from the soldering iron!
Does the replacement ribbon has a sticky surface to hold it in place on the board until you add the heat? It seems like it does from your video. THANKS!

got any advice for a trunk that wont open ? if the fuse is blown and i cant find i new one i was going to try and wire around the weird fuse they have , idk why they would put the trunk fuse in the trunk and not have a manual way to open the trunk without taking the license place off , i just got done replacing all my ignition coils and i had to replace my shifter which was a pain in the ass , i mean it wasnt that tough but it was annoying to find all the screws for the trim and shit , i have a 97 xj6L and its got 100k miles and i drive it as little as possible and i always get it car washed whenever its dirty , ive had check engine light on but im sure its just from the ignition coils , someone who previously owned it seemed to have taken out the xpipe on the exhaust and had someone install straight exhausts where the xpipe was , unless the xj6L has different exhaust than the regular xj6 , i used to have a 95 xj6 and its bassically the same car except the length , i guess mine is 1 of 207 cars , so hopefully i never need a new driveshaft or something , i would love to pick your brain about jaguars and mechanics of them but dont know where to start and am too annoyed with waiting on the secretary of state to answer their damn phone lol ive been on hold for 30 minutes lol idk just chit chatting lol fuck i think your in europe arent you ? lol
My replacement kit came without the specific soldering tool. Are there any alternatives anyone could recommend?

Nekem minden kijelzom elfaradt az xj6on. kilometerora, ora, klimakijelzo, radio.... nemtudom hogy alljak neki, sajnalom hogy a video alatt nincs szöveges vagy hang alapú kommentár, ami végig vezetné az eseményeket. egyébként csak igy tovabb, szívesen néznék több házilagos megoldást bármilyen jellegű problémával kapcsolatban xj6 ról.

Nem vagyok a szavak embere, az írásom pedig csúnya :o) Ha tudok valamiben segíteni, keress nyugodtan. Van egy kiégett izzóm a műszeregységben (a ford.szám mérő mutatója). Ha cserélem, majd videózok.
@@jag_x300 Most azért azt elárulom hogy sikerült szétszednem mindent a videód alapján. Utána néztem egy csapatnak a fővárosba (pixelfix) elég bizalomgerjesztő cég. Mindent megoldanak ami lcd probléma. Ajánlom neked is ha hosszú távra tervezel az autóddal.

But the new ribbon will also burn our after time because the ilumination bulbs are too hot, they also need to be replaced with led's for a long life repair !
Any recommendation on what the correct leds would be?

@@davidmichiels5809 I think its just white led's, because led's run a lot cooler than bulbs ?
@@gaz1tinsley it's just that even the white LEDs come in different degrees of brightness. You don't want clock to be hardly visible at night, but you don't want the light to be too strong either. Normally they advertise the Wattage, and sometimes the actual brightness too in 'lumen'
