watching the reactors get whiplash when they cut from the flashback to nobara’s face always gets me, and the pov through her busted eye was foul mappa did NOT have to do that
The sheer amount of faith my boy Yuji had in his brother. He was mid punch when Todo swapped him in with the one handed clap. "Oh shit, he's missing a hand and can't swap, he's in trouble. The only way out of this situation is if he finds a way to swap still. He WILL get out of this! Therefore I am about to get swapped in. Just start throwing the punch."
When watching him throw a fit, snot bubbling and bawling, we can’t forget that even after all of this Mahito is barely a year old and was entirely sculpted by the brainiac to fill this role. He’s got the mind of a child that just now faced real fear for the first time and it broke him instantly. Mahito is like if you gave homelander to an immortal Josef Mengele
to answer the question of why Mahito "became a bitch", it's more that Mahito has always been a bitch and has never really been a courageous character lol. Up till now he's been picking on people weaker than him since pretty much nobody besides Yuji and Nobara have been able to actually harm him, and out of his two natural enemies he already got rid of one of them two episodes prior. There's only been one other time where Mahito has felt truly fearful for his life (versus Nanami and Yuji at the school) and even then he had more tricks up his sleeve to get out of the fight alive, but now his back is actually to the wall with no way out, so he reverts to his nature as a curse: running, crying, begging for someone to help him, etc. We even see this in how he throws a rock balled up in dirt at Yuji, he's scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to find a way out, like a kid who got caught doing something bad. Unlike the other characters, fights never really have stakes for Mahito besides whether or not he could learn from the fight, because he never thought he would actually die, and now that the inevitability of death is in front of him he has no clue how to deal with it.
The way I understood Mahito talking to Sukuna in the 0.2 second is that Sukuna knew Mahito was cooked 🤣 he just stands there and smiles while Mahito is trash talking cuz he knows yuji boutta beat his ass, at least that’s what I like to think happened 😂
JJK 2X20: I just wanna say first and foremost, Mahito's VA DELIVERED. Now, onto the analysis. I think it's very fitting that Mahito was the first Black Flash of S2 and first BF from a cursed spirit. He is both learning and fully embracing his nature. He is comfortable with who he is. He is a very young curse, so his potential and room to grow are nearly limitless. Considering that even after all this, Mahito still feels like his soul has another form of evolution that he's so close to reaching. He causes pain, fear, hatred, despair. He is a true curse. I've always loved that speech he gave Yuji during the beatdown. He's doing what he was born to do. Yuji being in the fight is why he can't just transfigure Yuji and Todo and instantly win the fight(due to Sukuna being inside Yuji and touching their souls together is too big of a risk). But it's also providing Mahito the room to grow and evolve. Yuji, Todo and Mahito have brought out 120% of their potential. And as Mahito said to Yuji in the end, this will be their final chance to curse each other. JJK 2x21: Mahito's form in this episode was gained through an immense understanding of his own soul. In exchange for not being able to use Idle Transfiguration on most of his body(except his hands), he gained a massive boost in his physical and defensive abilities thanks to a binding vow. It's stated that this form is about 200% tougher than his normal state. Yuji's hits that did so much damage before were suddenly having no impact on Mahito. It's stated in a little volume extra that if Yuji hadn't nailed Mahito with that last Black Flash, he would've been instantly torn to shreds. To me, one of the most interesting things about Mahito is how fast he grows. His potential. He's still essentially a child due to how young he is. Yet he managed to master Domain Expansion(something many sorcerers can never do), learned to transfigure himself more, found a counter to Simple Domain, used Black Flash, copied a very specific technique that GOJO of all people used on instinct by releasing his Domain for 0.2 seconds in order to counter Sukuna inside Yuji, told the King Of Curses to move aside, and discovered his true form thanks to realizing who he is. If he didn't have damage already accumulated in his soul or didn't have to worry about Sukuna being inside of Yuji, this wouldn't have even been a fight. Because he would've just used his more powerful soul techniques and just transfigured Yuji and then Todo. Mahito was the exact Curse that Sukuna said Jogo should've been. Someone who destroyed everything around him and lived only for himself and the torment of others. But in the end, Mahito's steps towards greatness were halted by a max power Black Flash straight to the soul. Centered on an unprotected part of his body. He managed to permanently cripple Todo and prevent him from using his technique again due to damaging his soul. And now, Geto has appeared before Mahito. Questioning if he will save him.
@@navi7402 Oh. So if information is in more than one place, it's suddenly not analysis anymore. Guess we should just throw libraries away. Or multiple copies of books in general. Information can only be in ONE place and said one time. Ever
It's really stylized, but even in that state it's pretty hard for Yuji to finish Mahito off. After getting knocked into the water Yuji could barely even stand, and the only thing he can do to kill Mahito is punch his soul to death lol.
Some of the scenes, although beautiful to watch, can give the impression that more time is passing than is actually happening, so Yuji wasn't really taking his time finishing off Mahito. It was really sad to see Yuji talking about killing for the sake of killing (even in relation to curses) rather than being motivated to save people. The slight silver lining to Yuji being interrupted was that he was able to come back to his senses.
Todo’s entrance here is up there with the best character entrances of all time to me… reminds me of Naruto’s entrance in the Pain arc (won’t elaborate bc spoilers)
RCT actually can heal even the soul (if you're skilled enough) but it can't "change" the soul to his original state, Mahito does not damage souls, he changes it, so if he changes it so that you have a shorter arm and you lose that arm you could regrow it but it would still be shorter.
Day 132 of recommending the opening and ending of "Spare Me Great Lord". It's a chinese anime, so slightly different to the stuff you've reacted to so far, but it's got some of the vibest music and animation I've ever seen.
Todo can’t get it healed because mahito damaged his soul, no matter how much they’ll try to heal it, they can’t repair the shape of his soul so his hand is permanently gone
You know mahito's VA was having the time of his life when he was recording these lines
actually in tears over hate speech user

The literal parallels you see between mahito and yuji is so interesting man. They really are the same.
i know the bottom part is zoomed in so we can read the subtitles, but the god damn underbite on mahito crying at 31:22 is killing me 😂
