Now THIS is my favorite kind of video! Taking them apart and then putting them back together. I’m 71 years old and can’t do that any more, but I used to love taking things apart that I’d never done before.

@@stevehetrick2676 My knees are blown out from walking on concrete floors for 40+ years. I went out and bought knee pads for carpenter/carpet installers with gel inside. For about 30 bucks, best idea ever.
JT, when you put her back together mount the battery box on the frame rail by the starter. It makes the cables much shorter and the battery much easier to access. It helps even more if you hinge the box to swing away from the engine for servicing.
You made that look incredible easy but glad you found the problem. I enjoyed every video you make thanks for taking the time to make them it makes a shade tree mechanic like my self realize that we can fix these old tractors
Looks like it came apart pretty good. I like your track style splitting jacks. Funny that every brand comes apart a little differently. Looking forward to what you find in the Powershift transmission. Thanks for the Videos, JT.
Im glad to see that you aren't giving up on the Case . I have ran them for years and they are way more durable than the bad rap they've got . They do require filter maintenance and good quality oil but they are far tougher than some seem to think. Having the valves adjusted properly helps to be smooth. I think you will like it when you get finished. I really enjoy your videos as i run my older equipment too.
100% agree. We run all CASE tractors. They work for us, we don't work for them. From the looks of that 50 year old tractor, I wonder how often the oil and filters were changed.

JT, When you setup your supports for the front and rear, you have the rear support, holding the rear of the engine. It should be supporting the rear half of the tractor. The support that is supposed to support the rear of the engine, is not in the right place holding the mid engine/front axle. It should be where you have the engine support stand. Basically your front stand should be where your trolly jack is!. The track is just long enough to place it so you're just under the cab, and the rest is out front, where you can move the front as far as you need to remove the PTO shaft from the middle. The way I used to do it, was without the track, front on trolly jack and rear on track stand with the front axle wedged with 2 wooden wedges, not just a piece of 4x2. T/jack makes the splitting easier as you have something to hold on to! and then use front tyres to wheel where you need. Sorry for long explanation but years of experience in the trade! Was Ag Engineer for 7yrs in UK. Otherwise looks good from here so far.
I appreciate that. There is a reason I did that the way I did it. I understand that is not the correct way, but I wanted the extra support under the engine as the height of the oil pan made me a little nervous. I did it the same way on my 1155

You will have to lift the top cover of the gearbox,by jacking up the cab you may be able to pull it up through the cab floor. The filings in the valve body probably came from the PTO clutch packs, the hydraulic intake pipe is situated just forward of PTO clutch.
i have never seen a 1070 with stiffening plates. what you called frame rails are stiffening plates the engine and transmission is the frame. now thay might be an old loader frame which would explain the mounts on the front
Farm machinery should be built with 1/2",9/16",3/4" and 15/16" hardware. Those sizes most farmers haven't lost their sockets or wrenches out of the back of the truck.😊 AL B.

Hello JT, maybe you should have taken the cab off 😅. Either way I know you can handle it. The people that designed it are possible deep 6 . I've never split a tractor before so ... HAR DE HAR HAR, and JT WINS!😊
You know I got to thinking you can make one of those large ultrasonic heated cleaners just take a 55-gallon drum and line the bottom with some truck tire tread to keep the vibration from wearing through the drum maybe even up the sides and fill it with whatever cleaner diesel or evapo-rust then have a chain hoist that you can lower one of those concrete vibrators into the fluid and let it run for an hour. Be careful if you're using diesel. Whatever you heat the metal barrel with don't make it too hot.

Hello JT, maybe you should have taken the cab off 😅. Either way I know you can handle it. The people that designed it are possible deep 6 . I've never split a tractor before so ... HAR DE HAR HAR, and JT WINS!😊
Right on! If the cab was lighter lol
I love your attitude, just git er done.
Thanks!
Right on! That’s a great idea!
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 I'm not heard anyone else think of it and I watch a lot of videos I just don't have the funds to open up a shop or own a home with a garage so I can do things like this but I have a lot of ideas
Dude,,,it was in pieces long before you brought it home😂😂
For sure 😆
good to see you cracking on that case. It will be great to see it work for it's second chance to live with Fluffy watch
Appreciate it! It will be quite the challenge.
