To give a hand to JJK, the Shibuya arc takes place in the early 100 chapter count. At that point in Dragon Ball, Goku was in the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai as a kid. If anything, it would be unfair to throw a Goku with 200+ chapters of experience against a threat like this.

I’ve always been under the assumption that Ki is connected to Spirit, so while Ki and CE are NOT the same thing, having a lot of Ki let’s you power through things like unique powers i.e. time manipulation, poison. So I would assume that this would allow Goku to just power up and resist Idle Transfiguration
This is also why I think Goku would beat Gojo even if he gets caught in his domain, because if he’s in like SSJ then he would just have so much Ki that the domain would just collapse or shatter
He doesn't have any power-ups except anger/friendship amps and great ape, he is not resisting idle transfiguration with that PL.
In OG DB, it seems no one really has resistance to gimmicks.

Something interesting to note is that Ki in Dragon Ball is described as both spiritual and emotional energy. For example Genkai is literally described as the life force of the soul, and is used to make the spirit bomb, but is otherwise counted as a Subcategory of Ki in general. Meanwhile the Ki we normally see in Dragon Ball is described as the literal emotion courage and all that comes from it. The Mafuba is the combination of those 2 categories which specifically requires the user to have a good amount of spiritual energy to actually pull it off.
Now at that age Goku wouldn’t have been a master at manipulating his soul, although it’s unlikely that he doesn’t have a rough understanding of it thanks to Roshi having amazing understanding of it for the Mafuba. It’s fair to say Roshi was setting the foundations on what the soul is for Goku. So it’s likely that Goku has less understanding of the soul than Itadori, but thanks to his Ki being so much more stronger than Itadori’s CE, they can be considered to have comparable protection from Mahito.
Something else to note is that Courage is considered as a positive emotion, and thus a regular Ki blast would be like Mahoraga’s Positive Energy Blade. So all the curses are getting packed up very quickly. Also since Ki has aspects of RCE it’s possible Goku might be able to sense them as he’s able to sense negative/evil Ki. He most likely couldn’t see them, but he’ll know the rough area they’re in.
The three things given by Toriyama aren't the only things that can be in ki, nor always in it. Could be anything, depends on the character - it's why the androids can have a reactor that gives them ki that doesn't run out. Which makes the whole thing vague and muddy, just like the rest of dragon ball, woo hoo! A soulless machine can make the same energy as a bodyless soul that's really angry! :D
@@manoflead643 to be fair though Goku is clearly training under the rightful mindedness and courage aspects of Ki. Now it’s debatable whether or not Roshi is teaching him how to control his Genki at that point, but considering Roshi didn’t want to leave the world without someone to perform the Mafuba against King Piccolo so it’s likely he was preparing Goku to learn it.
@@manoflead64319 doesn’t have ki hence why it needed to absorb it. 16 never used any ki, he was also an actual android and 17 and 18 are cyborgs. Cell was implanted with cells as a bio-andriod so him having the ki of older enemies of Goku so it makes sense.

The only "androids" with ki are 17, 18 and Cell because they actually have souls (well Cell presumably has a soul if we believe GT). 16, 19 and the others (8, movie androids, etc) are just machines with either extremely high mechanical energy or the ability to steal it from others. I think 17 and 18's "infinite energy reactor" thing isn't exactly ki, it's closer to the mechanical energy we saw with the older androids that they can use functionally AS ki (for purposes like shooting beams, flying, etc).
The only part that confuses is me is why the twins can't be located via ki sensing while Cell can be. I guess that would be the same for Dr. Gero who functionally SHOULD still have ki (being a brain in a robot body like Dr. Wheelo) but is also undetectable.

This is how Nanami was able to tank a touch from Mahito because Mahito was pretty weak at this point whilst Todo who is likely relative to Nanami since they're both grade 1 had to cut his arm to survive. Nah, you’re just showing you suck at remembering. It’s explicitly said the only reason Nanami could survive, not his power level. He subconsciously protected his soul with cursed energy just because of his level of skill. Goku, who has no cursed energy, would not be able to do this.
And on the note of todo, the only reason he was able to rank the domain was because it was a 0.2 second domain, which wasn’t enough time for it to fully affect his soul, the same as when he slapped mahitos hand. Todo didn’t have this subconscious reflex, he just had to rely on very quick contact

Mahito doesn’t necessarily need one touch to finish the fight. Durable characters like todo were able to live from slight touches, so I may be possible for goku to immediately back off if mahito touched him and survived (prob from a sixth sense or something)
Edit: a better description of what goku could would be what gohan did against that fox guy in the exhibition matches before the ToP when he got blinded

Goku from right after the Fight with Demon King Piccolo or after the Fight with Piccolo Junior is significantly stronger and faster than the Goku used in the Video who's already pretty close to surviving. Ki sensing I’d argue is a default ability of ki. There’s a scene in the Saiyan saga where a saibaman moves faster than gohan’s vison, and piccolo says “sense the movement of their ki”. This implies base level ki sensing is an initial ability, but once something blitz physical abilities such as sight one would have to learn to adjust.

Roshi's Max Power was most definitely not in the thousands. Not only did we never see Roshi actually make contact with Oozaru Goku, but the face on Oozaru Goku could've simply been that he was startled by the sudden energy on display. Roshi was also crapping himself against an old King Piccolo, who was lower than his 260 Young self, with Roshi claimed he couldn't do anything against him and immediately went for the Mafuba. Characters can control their DC in DB, so if Roshi really was that much stronger it makes no sense for him to claim this. There's also Piccolo with a PL weighted in the 300s who also blew up the Moon, so Roshi being in the thousands is obsurd

Even if you believe he choose the moon so he doesn't kill goku, roshi could still control his kamehameha to just knock oozaru out instead of choosing blow up the moon, the only one that believed the kamehameha would kill oozaru was yamcha that didn't even know how to sense ki at that moment.
I think realistically kid goku would wipe everyone including Mahito. I'd like to think that curse energy is like magic from dragon ball(or similar) so hax techniques would still work on kid goku but there's something that got me wrong with what you said with Mahito v Kid Goku. We know ki can do a lot of things, and I'm sure it could do somethin like 'protect your soul'. Im actually sure it would do it automatically since sometimes ki is translated as spirit energy. Now soul and spirit are not always interchangable but still sometimes they are also the same thing. Im not saying it won't work, but I don't think it would automatically mean Goku would instantly be defeated. Mahito would probably get kid goku with the free hit and I could imagine it would either injure kid goku majorly or minimally. With Sukuna it's the same thing. Unless Sukuna is stronger than Kid Goku, I don't see him winning even with Malevolent Shrine. I think Kid Goku would tough it out. Now maybe Fuga would do something, but we don't really know the limit of that, he could probably do it infinitely, but Kid Goku wouldn't get hit by it more than once. Im not a scaler btw these are just my thoughts. The video was great.
I gotta disagree on mahito actually being a strong pick against goku. He may be invisible but he's still there changing stuff like moving rocks or making transfiguration humans, while needing multiple shots to beat goku. It's a big thing that mahito calculates the number of touches he needs to land and that relates to a soul which we know goku has a powerful one. Mahito would honestly run cause he'd take dozens of touches to beat goku at least and if goku catches him mahito gets sent straight to the moon

Kid Goku's speed would arguably be at the speed of light, when Roshi destroyed the moon, it's clear it took seconds to reach the moon to destroy with his Kamehameha. And Goku is able to dodge the Kamehameha attacks set by Roshi, meaning his Combat Speed and Travel Speed are light speed because of Ki covering both kinds of speeds, since he needs Ki to be stronger then that of a human.

Well actually there is soul resistance arguments for goku, we know that ki is not just energy but their life energy too.
There are different types of ki too evil and good ki, as the spirit bomb wont work on you if you have good ki. We also see cumber can corrupt people because his ki is evil and janemba is the embodiment of evil ki (not canon but both outline and back up the theme of different ki) beyond that the trio of danger also use ki but its different to the point that ki masters like goku and co can’t sense them. Toriyama also states that the users hearts can determine what kind of ki they have.
There’s a pseudo president that if you’re too strong techniques might not work on you in db.
Also Toji with no curse energy wouldn’t be affected by IT, his body is too strong to the point it takes over weaker peoples souls. And Gege akutami states if kenjaku one of the series strongest and main villain took over tooks body his curse technique would glitch/might not work.

Mahito’s soul manipulation would not work on Goku, for a number of reasons. This is a common misconception I see very often
First off, Dragon ball Souls and JJK souls are completely different. Mahito cannot manipulate souls that work in entirely different ways with characters from different universes. In dragon ball, souls are typically relative in power with the body, whereas in JJK the soul is more of a crystal, something weaker than the body that can easily be manipulated. It’s essentially just equalizing everything if you say that his ability would work

There is an argument to be made that goku(and other dragon ball characters) could just see the curses due to the fact that they work similar to spirits. With that being the case its easy to argue that goku could see them just like how everyone in dragon ball z could see and interact with goku while he was dead. I've seen it mentioned a few times that the way 元気 works in db makes it easy go argue that goku would have resistance to mahito. 元気 translates to spiritual energy roughly.

Well as far as power level scaling early on you gotta think that going from 139 to 180 is about a 29% increase which is A LOT, so like later in the Saiyan saga a 1000 power level difference is actually only like 10% stronger give or take from said opponent.

The fact the main premise of JJK isn’t directed at me and that Mahito is the personification of it only contributes to me bothering to ask it, I still feel like it’s a legitimate question. For example Dagon couldn’t control “Blood” which is very similar to water, or he would’ve instant killed everyone. The perception matters, especially so with Jujutsu, so I think whether it would work is in question.

I looked a respect thread for kid goku and he's able to do some pretty impressive things I wasn't aware of. For instance he can apply his kamehameha to boost the force of his striking power, he can break his fall, use it to do a body slam into someone, he can bend it which is something I knew already, can use it with one hand and can use it to boost himself in the air and he can empower his punch with it. I wish goku did something like that more often which is empowering his strikes with a kamehameha.
He has heat and electricity resistance. Was electrocuted underwater and was fine. Was unaffected by a flame thrower. Was able to momentarily withstand roshi's electric attack. He was also able to track a rock roshi threw into a jungle by scent.
3:40 Roshi accomplishes the moon destroying feat with a Max-Charged Kamehameha which was the thing that made his power level 139 was the charge of Kamehameha. Goku in base is 180, if he charges the Kamehameha that'll boost the output by x2, which makes his power level 360 when he fires off the Kamehameha wave. However, that was the math back at DB and DBZ Era, nowadays it's really applied.

It's actually very easy to prove that mahito wouldn't be able to one shot Goku because mahito couldn't even one shot nanami who had no idea what soul manipulation was and constantly mentions that he can't one shot people stronger than him who are at full health. Even if you don't equalize the systems Goku's power level vs that of a normal mortals atp should be able to determine how he'd fare. And you can't really use the same trick on him more than a couple times
Yeah people often forget that Mahito's abilities and similar others aren't limitless hax that work on people 10x, 100x, 1000x+ stronger than them. Not to mention you'd have to equalize the verse's concept of soul for mahito to even affect souls outside of his verse that same, otherwise, what's stopping Goku from just sensing them all with ki? Doesn't exactly make sense for one concept to apply universally while the other doesn't.
Hell, even if we ignore all of that, Goku being a saiyan and not a human, something mahito's' familiar with makes it likely he doesn't understand the shape of his soul, that and souls in DB working differently to begin with. Multiple things make the scenario favoring mahito not only far more unlikely than not, but also requires bias to even get to that point.

There are 3 ways Goku would be able to see Cursed Spirits
1. DB Hax- it is pretty well known that in DB if you are a good amount stronger than your opponent then DB characters just bypass their hax
2.(more likely/fair) life and death situations- Normal humans can gain the ability to see cursed spirits if they are in a life or death situation. So if Goku sees random people dying or gets attacked by a cursed spirirt he would most likely awaken the ability
3. Pure senses: Toji is able to see curses because of his heightened senses, it is likely Goku has higher senses than him so he should be able to “see” them using his senses
Yeah Sukuna's hax are able to level the playing field when even if he was a little weaker than Goku. And seeing as he is easily tricked and has been caught off guard by people much weaker and slower than him, I would say he would definitely lose to Sukuna, At least at this point in the story.

Another thing about Kid Goku vs Cursed Spirits is Kid Goku was actually shown to be able to sense a *wide* variety of creatures, even before he learnee how to properly sense Chi. In one of the earliest manga panels vs the Pirate Skull Robot, he tells Bulma that he can sense something in the room underground. Bulma tells him theres no way and Goku tells her that he can sense that its not a living creature

There is an argument that ki control is spirit or soul control because of what ki is and the cultural place it derives from. Which would mean that mahito would be fighting goku on something he has very much trained or at least at this point in the series has a huge natural affinity for manipulating. The interpretation that you gave is the one that I think is more reasonable and better faith since we're not equalizing the power systems and speculating on how the two systems would interact is just wild speculation but I think it's worth mentioning.
