I’ve played live about 800 times. I’m a lead guitarist too. It happened to me sometimes. Everyone just loves to hate Kirk because they wish they could accomplish what he has done for four decades.
@@massivemoon7495 something tells me you've never touched any kind of instrument but still hate on musicians for their mistakes because you have never accomplished anything yourself
partially, because he's playing his clean part. i think he tried to engage the solo, his tech screwed up by not changing his sound and he thought HE was wrong and tried play the clean part.
St. louis, I was there. It was a very human/humorous moment that didn’t last long and by no means ruined the song. Metallica sounded great both nights, it was my 9th and 10th time seeing them.
@@shallex5744 Actually, if I've seen anything, it's proof that Metallica DOESN'T use backing tracks. They fuck up way too much for that. Do they play to a metronome? Probably.
I was at that show and from what everyone was saying, his guitar teach forgot to turn the transmitter on when he switched guitars, thats why it cut out entirely from the 2nd solo to the machine gun riff.
I was wondering that too, I was there that night in St Louis. I have the full video up on my youtube channel. It's at the 4 minute 10 second mark I think lol
I've been concerned about Kirk's memory for a few years now. If you listen to some of his interviews and compare them to older interviews, the way he talks seems a little different. He has to take time to speak or process something. Also, recently he has been making more mistakes on the guitar. For example, the intro to nothing else matters. I hope that he's okay and that has memory is not slipping away.
A fan yelled at Kurt before the Nothing Else Matters intro Kirk smiled and spoke to the fan and the fan apologized. If thats the one youre talking about.
Do you have any idea how many pieces of music Hammett has learned and forgotten over the years.I am not shocked at him having a brain fart when there is so much music stored away in his head it's like an encyclopedia
and yet the others remembered their parts. That said, they are getting older and being of their age watching them climb from nothing to something, I get it.
@@lucaslandolfo1276 Das war nur Spaß. Ich habe mir soetwas gedacht. Kirk würde niemals seinen Auftritt verpassen. Dafür liebt er die Musik viel zu sehr. Danke für deine Auskunft.

@@victorbicudo1374nah can't hear a single note from the solo . Somehow both kirk and tech made a mistake there.

Lol the shrug as James walks to the next mic 😂
That's how you know they're a real band playing real music on real instruments. Sadly that's going away these days.
true. if it were a backtrack there is no way they can go along with a mistake like that.
oh trust me, there is certainly no question as to whether Metallica plays to tracks, and it shows!

It happens😂 Kirk was having a senior moment😂

I was there too and it definitely looked like a technical issue.
I was there and watched them switch guitars out and him hit a wrong note and just go with it lol
I like how even Lars was confused a little as well lol
